LOL at people who are bringing up a potential problem of Cat, Abu, and Anya all going pro early after next season. That would mean we have 3 NBA players on the team, which usually translates into an excellent season. So that point of concern is now all about a potentially bad year 2 seasons from now?

So next year are we expected to be a lot worse than our Sweet 16 team this year with a more experienced Cat Barber, Anya, Freeman, and Abu? That’s a pretty solid lineup if you ask me.

One thing that I remember clearly was that TOB tried to force Wilson to be a pocket passer, and did not utilize his strengths. When Wilson did scramble and try to make plays on his own (in his last year here) was usually when we were down in the second half and he’d help with a comeback or we would still lose the game after he did everything he could. At the time and to this day I believed that the way in which TOB forced Wilson to play into TOB’s system and not changing the game plan to accommodate his star qb’s strengths was a severely limiting factor for Wilson. Within TOB’s system Glennon was just as good as Wilson. If TOB wasn’t so stubborn and used Wilson properly then we could have had more wins in each season Wilson was here as well as probably had him stay the last year.

I always thought that TOB wanted to be old school and just didn’t want a “running quarterback.”

Now that we’re off on that tangent, to be fair, fighting cancer was never the mission of the Livestrong Foundation.

Not true. Whether it was stated in the Livestrong mission or not it was definitely implied and verbally stated by Lance Armstrong during the time frame of his rise in popularity.

The Livestrong Foundation states that its mission is ‘to inspire and empower’ cancer survivors and their families.

    It does now.

As of 2005, the foundation began phasing out its support of cancer research, and as of 2010, it no longer accepted research proposals.

His title run was from 1999-2005. During the height of his winning he used this as a platform for bigger publicity. And hid behind it when facing tough questions. They did not readily publicize that they did little to no research until the whole thing blew up on them. Many donations were made to this “charity” thinking that they were going to cancer research.

As for Sylvia, I see she’s perfected the art of the “Did I mention I have cancer?” bob and weave.

That was my point the whole time. Lance hid behind his cancer, just like it seems that she is doing.

It seems that she is using the tried and true “cancer defense” that was used successfully for years by Lance Armstrong. Anytime someone asks a hard question about you bring up all the good you have done in the cancer fight and act as if the person doing the questioning is against fighting cancer because they are asking you tough questions.

*As an aside, Lance Armstrong’s foundation did virtually nothing on the cancer fight and it was all a front for publicity for him. So it was a complete sham just like he was…and just like UNC-Cheat is.

If this is his 3rd positive test then I would think that someone wants to send a message to him and/or the rest of the team. They know who smokes weed and who doesn’t and they continue to test that guy until he fails three times. If somebody doesn’t quit after testing positive twice already, that can show that your priorities in life aren’t where they need to be. I would bet that this carries over to his work ethic at practice. And then lo and behold he gets tested again.

And as for the dangers of ‘minimalist’ shoes, as I understand it, the biggest problem is people don’t work their way into it enough. It takes time for the musculature and tendons to catch up to the training. But people just switch shoes and keep doing the same old thing, which is injury city.

That is correct. You cannot heel strike with minimalist shoes. Heel striking is what causes the jarring on the knees and really your whole leg and foot. However, if you were barefoot the pain receptors in your heel would immediately prevent you from running like this. Cushined shoes remove this pain and allow you to heel strike which still gives the high impact injuries to the knees, shins, etc.

It is hard not to heel strike with conventional shoes. Almost all shoes have the heel 12 mm above the toe, so when you try no to hit the ground with your heel it still does give you a heel strike due to the elevated nature of the heel. Low drop shoes of 0 – 4 mm take this into account. But since we all have been wearing 12 mm drop shoes our whole lives, it is not a quick thing to just switch over to low drop. You have to slowly work up the muscles that have not been in use since you started wearing shoes. I have really enjoyed the New Balance trail minimus shoes since I started on them. I still have “regular” tennis shoes that I wear to play basketball and just hang out in.

Low drop, lightweight, almost no cushion shoes have helped my feet big time when running long distance. They have almost eliminated shin splints and any knee pain. My feet were pretty flat but developed an arch because the tendons and muscles in your feet have to work as opposed to letting the shoes do all the work. Also much less stress on the knees. But it took damn near a year to get acclimated to them.

If your wife has a $1.8 MM lawsuit against a very young gold digger you really are completely oblivious to the ways of the world if you still try to screw her. You had it coming. Yes, the privacy thing is terrible that it was recorded…but she was the defendant of a lawsuit. This is the kind of thing that happens when you spew racist comments to the half black woman who is 50 years younger than you that your wife is suing for $1.8 MM.

The NBA has to get rid of him because he is bad for business. They didn’t record it. It went public, and they can react on the reality that he is hurting business.

Whoever recorded it and released it should probably watch their back though. This is the type of thing that may not be dealt with in court.

When you’re caught I guess you always have to play the “wasn’t me” approach even if it is very obvious. However, the people who are reporting that he claims to have forgotten to pay are nothing but jock sniffing fanboys unless they also claim that this is completely unbelievable BS and he is not owning up to theft.

Back in the mid 90s when it played heavy metal almost all day every day it was by far the #1 station in the world. This was before that terminology meant yelling and screaming and no real singing. They unfortunately quit being a heavy metal station around 2000. Actually that’s probably for the best because all the best stuff was prior to 2000 anyway.

At least he did it before he signs his big contract at the end of this season. I hope that with all the new activity that will be taking place in his bachelor pad that he will still have the energy for games.

It does suck for him that this didn’t work out. Hopefully it is for the better.

I can’t help but shed a tear for Green Bay and Larry Brown at SMU. They were absolutely ROBBED of the opportunity to be the 38th (or whatever it is) selected at large team. Oh well, at least they get to play to see who’s the 69th best team in the nation now.

Maybe this dude’s and Jay Bilas’s incessant complaining about TJ Warren not being deserving because one must lead their team to the tourney helped influence those on the committee. What a couple of moronic dipsh***s. The one and only reason that they disagreed with TJ Warren being given the clear cut player of the year award was a non-existent reason. The best player in the conference single handedly did lead his team to the tournament a**holes. Next time you should verify your reasons for being an argumentative douchebag before opening your ignorant mouth.

I was at the game last night. It was the first time that I can recall that during the post-game line of handshaking a near fight ensued. TJ Warren and the UNCG player Cain were having words and needed to get separated during the last minute of the game for some kind of trash talk when Warren was getting ready to shoot free throws. Then when the 2 of them came to shaking hands they got in each others face and the whole teams all had to circle around and separate them and then just run off the court real quick. Des Lee was really pumped up after this and ran around getting the State fans to cheer loudly. He then came and high fived all the people sitting in the front row on the way to the visitors locker room (I was one of the people sitting in that front row) along with Cat Barber in an extremely pumped up manner. It was pretty sweet.

I recall hearing that Tyler was going to take a leadership role with this team. These could be obvious bs N&O preseason articles that knew nothing about the situation, but Tyler himself was stating this as well. Leadership starts in practice but it damn sure comes through in games. I haven’t seen Tyler Lewis look like he is taking command of the team at any point. He always seems to have a timid look when playing and when talking with teammates. Washington on the other hand was really showing some signs of stepping up and getting other players involved.

I have always liked Tyler Lewis and believe that he is an excellent talent at pg. He would start on most teams in the country except for those that have the most elite level of talent on the team. Cat Barber is that kind of elite talent so of course you have to start the better player. Cat needs to learn to finish the play better though, and of course he is a freshman before ACC play has even started – he will learn. Until he gets better at finishing he should concentrate on penetrating and passing to the open man and not shooting.

Hopefully this twitter BS is just that, some stupid BS that he did without thinking while trying to sound like a somewhat educated white rapper or something. This team is improving and it doesn’t appear that it one bad attitude will derail the others. If he felt that way the rest of the team sure as hell didn’t while they went on to kick Tennessee’s a**.

We do need Tyler though. He is going to be solid as hell his junior and senior years, and he is now too. He just needs to use the fact that Cat is on the team to improve in an intensely competitive situation.

I didn’t think the 3% meant the percentage of the team. It was the percentage of the class. 3% is 50 times greater than the basketball players make up in the student population. That is where the discrepancy in appreciation of the 3% number by the masses lies.

    First of all, great article.

Next, you can count me as one that only cares about the winning percentage. I know that this is not necessarily who is re better qb due to external factors. But that is the coach’s legacy. If Glennon is not great and we end the season with 8 or more wins, I cannot fault TOB for his decision. 7 or less, well……
