None of the flirty silliness with DD will be remembered if he maintains/builds on what he did this year. Continue to win and all the drama BS will be forgotten. Regress and all the drama BS will be right back at the top of everyone’s bitch list.

‘did you see us going 6-2 in the conference’ – I know that wasn’t directed at me, but I’m going to reply anyway. I expected us to go 6-6; 4-4. The wins over FSU and Louisville were unexpected. The FSU win isn’t as spectacular when looking at the season in hindsight. The Louisville win is a quality win. It was a really solid season with plenty of WTF moments, but no WTF losses. That’s progress in my book. Question is will this be our ceiling or our median. I’m ok being patient to see what the next 2-3 years reveals.

“All will be tough games but which ones do we fans think we can’t win” – the more appropriate question is what are the win probabilities of the remaining games. I’ll play that game. @ ND (0.3), Clemson (0.4), @ BC (0.6), @WF (0.7), UNC (0.8) – probabilities assigned assume all games played within a vacuum. By my count that would put us at 9-3 and I’d be pig in slop happy with that.

When did kneeling become some gargantuan sign of disrespect? All my life I’ve been taught that kneeling is a sign of reverence.

I am continually amazed at the number of people who marginalize racism just because they don’t witness/experience it. Reminds me of people who claimed the holocaust never happened.

Good luck TCD. I penned a paragraph yesterday and let it sit for a few hours contemplating posting it. Decided against it because so few are willing to listen and absorb the message. Only interested on admonishing the messengers and I wasn’t interested in being the target of the vitriol and insults.

Anybody keeping up with the Adidas CBB scandal that’s breaking today? Any rumblings about NCSU players/coaches/recruits being involved?

I seem to remember a poster dismissing Grey’s posts when he used injuries to excuse NCSU losses last year. Now injuries are being used to explain away the win over FSU. Interesting how the script gets flipped to support a narrative.

“Btw, I do feel we caught a break with getting FSU on Blackman’s first game though.” – this is a true statement, but you still have to capitalize and take advantage of the situation. I think the percentage of DD detractors that still expected to win going into the 4th quarter is pretty small.
Great win. Celebrate it, and then move on the next victim.

Continuous toleration of mediocrity. As an administrator, do you know what that’s going to get you? A shrinking operating budget.

He’s always been my favorite Beatle. His relationship with Clapton garnered him a degree of credibility he otherwise would not have received from laymen (like me). I know it’s a Lennon-McCartney song, but I’ve always loved “Norwegian Wood” because of Harrison’s experimentation with the sitar.

Call me pessimistic, but as fast as TV viewing habits and methods are changing I can’t help but think this ACC channel will be obsolete by the time it is up and running.

What’s the saying, “youth is wasted on the young”? Kids want to grow up fast. When you were 10 you couldn’t wait to be 13. When you were 13 you couldn’t wait to be 16…18…21
I was there once. Couldn’t wait to get out of college and start earning my own living and not be a burden to my parents (who were financially comfortable enough to have supported me for a few more years of grad school had I decided to take that route).
You can advise them all you want. Stay in school…enjoy the experience, etc. They’re kids. They aren’t going to listen to their parents, coaches, teachers, etc. any better than we did when we were 18-25.
Playing devil’s advocate, it’s very possible the education they get living in a foreign country while earning a living doing something they love can be more valuable than a bachelor’s degree in whatever from NCSU. Bottom line is you have to do whatever makes you happiest.
Now, what do we have to do to keep the rest of guys so we aren’t having to rely on walk-ons for quality minutes?

I don’t know what’s worse, the people who invent ‘alternative’ facts to drive the narrative that suits them or the people that engage and debate them 😉

MBS, I sat within earshot of K’s family at the ACCT in Greensboro a few years ago when we played Duke on Thursday (the game Barber went out fairly early when he got his bell rung). This is a game where Duke was in control for the entire game and cruised to a 25 point victory. K’s wife and daughters were so loud, obnoxious and foul mouthed it made me cringe. Can’t imagine how they would behave in a tightly contested game.
I thought about that immediately when I heard about the behavior of Marshall’s wife.

I’ve been mulling over the process and hire over the past few days. Still can’t believe we did not get Miller and the only reasonable explanation is that the NCSU/HS divorce cut Miller so deep he does not want to return to his alma mater to be the head basketball coach. On the surface this seems really odd, however once you think about it, I suppose it’s pretty reasonable. We always hear how many players sign up to play for a coach and not a school. Miller’s allegiance is apparently to Sendek and not NCSU. I don’t like it, but I understand and I harbor no ill will against the guy.

Also, I love how everyone else is willing to freely spend the Murphy family’s money.

My impression is Yow was forced by big money donors to make the change. The comment most likely is directed at those who forced her hand, and not directed at Yow.

You guys want the coach, who has already been fired, to use an ill-advised shot in the last 4 minutes of a close and winnable road game that also happens to be the last game of the regular season as a teaching moment? It’s a reasonable argument to make in November, not in March. My $0.02 worth.

If you commit to play, you gotta play the season out. I wouldn’t be offended if he sat out the NIT.
Philly would be a good place for him to land. If he can run the pick and roll they have a lot of athletic and big assets for him to develop with.

My “worry meter” didn’t move after the loss to Creighton or the early wins with narrow margins. When we lost to Illinois, I looked up their recent b-ball history to see how good/bad they were and I wasn’t impressed. Then I read some of their scouting reports. I remember pointing out at the end of the game thread that Illinois was projected to be one of the worst B10 teams. That L was my uh-oh moment.
My preseason prediction: “ACC finish around 5th with 5 or 6 conference losses; no more than 2 OOC losses.” – holy cow was that an awful prediction.
Question, as you guys read these weekly reports do your shoulders feel like they are slumping lower and lower?

^ I’ve always been fascinated how some people can get emotionally invested (in both directions) in a coach and eventually lose the ability to be objective about their performance. I bet if you were able to track down redfred he’d tell you Sendek should still be our basketball coach.
