Rowan announced he’s checking out of Raleigh. Oh my…who to hang this transfer on?

Ha-HA, I’ve got you all fooled. I’m actually hiding out in the mountains of North Carolina. The username’s a ruse. I’m bringing down your country from the inside! Russia will rule all of you American capitalist pigs! And no one will know until it’s too late! Or until they read this prematurely confident internet post!
Ah, you’ve tricked me into spilling all of my secrets with your braggadocio! I can’t figure out how to edit this post! $500 paid for a programming diploma all for naught!

How about eliminate the refs and let the players call their own fouls. That would be interesting to watch and fun to listen to the announcers try to explain what’s going on.

We never wanted that bum Archie Miller anyway*.

*I retain the right to revise history and/or my statement should Archie Miller, in fact, show interest.

You could also think of this as just a small appetizer. This is already at 26 pages and the season just ended. A good head start on previous coaching searches.
Or we could start throwing out politically-charged statements to stoke the fire and really get the pages rolling.

McCallum, you may be heartless and soulless, but you’re certainly not lacking in humor.

I haven’t paid attention to State’s OOC ranking because it hasn’t been of importance for quite some time but man it turned out to be a stinker. Good thing they’re not a bubble team; they wouldn’t get any help there.
Your point about Wichita St. is my main concern about Marshall as a coach. Who do they beat? Maybe they have played stronger regular season schedules in the past, I don’t know. Not knocking him or people’s desire for him as coach but I’ve paid more attention to their wins and losses this year because of our situation so I especially noticed this year.
(Not trying to turn this thread into a new coach thread; just pointing out that I share the observation about the Aggressive Barleys).

    PIR…

wanna share whatever it is you’ve got in Russia that would lead to such optimism?

Not sure what you mean. In Russia all the news is positive and the future is always bright. You don’t finish last. You come in at a strong 16th place.

But just to be clear on my initial comment: read with a dose of sarcasm, the most positive comment becomes fused with cynicism.

Looking at the bright side, with the weekend off, the team will have extra time to prepare to go all the way in the tourney. That’s been the plan all along. They’ve been saving it all year so that they could unleash it in March.

The one thing that worries once we make it past Miller and Marshall (good Lord forbid) is the cryptic report from Goodman with the old nonsourced quote from a “midmajor” of “I wouldn’t touch that job”. It’s most likely real but is it one of the guys we’d be targeting for the 2nd line? I pray not, because if we get played by a guy with those or similar sentiments it could begin to really stink. Also could it really be indicative of how this place is perceived across the board? Mind numbing and potentially lethal.

I think the job would become a lot more touchable to that midmajor coach if his salary had the chance to double or triple.

The weather is in late spring form already. It’s nice to see year-over-year improvement.

    Ya know?

There really isn’t much of a coaching carousel going on this year, in the first place.

Right now it’s just one kid on a merry-go-round going round and round that everyone’s standing around watching and waiting to get off.

I’m not the sharpest knife in the drawer. What was the irony?

It’s like goldy and bronzey. Only made of iron.

Fortunately for you, someone happened to catch a recording of it:

Here’s a list of past Xavier coaches: Skip Prosser, Thad Matta, Sean Miller, and Chris Mack (current). Which one has the most wins as head coach at Xavier?

Why don’t we just ask Xavier who they would hire if Chris Mack were gone and then hire that person. They always have a good coach. They’re like the farm team of coaches for major programs.

We must document the atrocities. Perhaps there will be a streaker? Perhaps GOTT will be the streaker??

I always watch the games in the mornings here after they’ve been played. Today it took forever on espn3 for it to get moved over from Live to Replay. I joked with a friend that maybe Gottfried went running around with no clothes and they had to corral him and it made the game last forever. What’s the deal with thinking of Gott running around naked on the court?

Getting late in the afternoon. Looking more and more like Gott will be coaching tomorrow. Kenpom showing a Carolina win of 11 points tomorrow. Not sure if the books adjust that line higher due to this chaos and the fact we lost by 51 the first go around. Either way I may need to put some money on the cheaters.. I don’t see how it will be anything other than a bloodletting.

They shouldn’t be betting on who wins the game and by how much. Instead, it should be how many minutes into the game will UNC be up by 20. That’s what I’ve started looking for. I’m guessing 5 minutes left in the first half. I’d love to be wrong.

Think about if the players haven’t heard anything other than we have. I think it would be extra tough to focus on the game at hand, but maybe I’m wrong.

We’ll find out soon enough with Carolina coming to town tomorrow.

Maybe they’ll be inspired and go out and win one for the ol’ coach.

    Then again maybe not.

The fiscally shrewd move would be to simply change the name on the jerseys from the Wolfpack to the Generals. Then there would be no misplaced expectations by the spectators as to the role the team in red is playing each game.

In other words they are so “offense first” that even their defense is offensive
