What is she supposed to say to an emailer? I know it is a huge dumpster fire, and he will be fired after the last game is played?

On the bright side, when we do hire a new coach we wont have to let any of those pesky tournaments slow down us starting the process.

If Gott does leave I doubt we will see many players leaving, except those that try to go to the NBA. That’s provided we get a decent coach.

While watching the game Saturday a few friends and I got into a discussion about State. The non State fans all still think Gott is a decent coach. That is until I asked them 2 questions. First give me a player under GOTT that got significantly better year over year. They couldn’t. Secondly, name one coach in the ACC you would take Gott over. They couldn’t. Then they all agreed it was time for him to go. Regardless of what happens from a firing standpoint, I feel like if we dump Gott the media will treat us the same way. Much like they did with Sendek (even though we didnt fire him). I don’t want that to hinder the search. If we are going to fire him there needs to be a quiet push to the media that he isnt cutting it immediately. Focus on the results etc.

The only way you could have hope for the future is if you havent watched the last few years.

PackMac, 25,000 plus average attendance. For the size of the school, stadium, area, and team they had I would say thats pretty good attendance numbers.

Folks here in Winston are shocked. He coached under Grobe, and apparently was not retained by the new staff when Clausen came in. My guess is there was or is some serious bad blood there and he wanted to make the coach look bad. Question is how does something like this happen for 2 years, with no one else knowing, or another team not reporting it to Wake.

I find the electoral college to be a great checks and balance. We have a large number of voters that do not know how to think for themselves. They believe anything they hear or see without doing their research. I do not trust that portion of the population. Education in this country sucks and is getting worse. Let’s trust all those folks with our future and see how it turns out.

I get DD getting another year, but I think we can all agree he has a ways to go to instill confidence in the fanbase. He made a lot of bad in game decisions. I cannot tell if it is routes or skills but our WR still cannot get separation. Our QB struggles to throw the ball further than 20 yds down field. Our Defense was good at times, but our secondary still needed some work. In year 4 these holes shouldn’t be there. While Yogi is right it would be a roll of the dice, to luck upon someone considerably better, we should still try. We can all agree 6 and 6 isn’t what we want as fans. If thats the ceiling under DD so be it, roll the dice wiht someone else.

Or the donors step up and we get a quality coach.

Thats a lot for any one person. Regardless of how much you want to stay focused on the job those things really can get your head and drag you down. With some of it behind him hopefully he can focus on the team and get us to where we need to be. And Hopefully the heart issues are behind him too.

I agree Creighton is a good team. So while we have a L it is not a bad loss which is important. I have to remind myself mostly new coaches and mostly new players. They are all still learning how to play together etc. Thats what makes quality mid majors so tough, they have players that make it 4 years, and typically in the system. That senior leadership means a great deal especially early in the season.

As for the zone defense my only thought is maybe Gott thought with having 3 players out that we didn’t match up well with it. Time will tell.

The committee will decide the NCAA cannot go after UNC due to the procedural issues. That is my guess.

Because they get in their own way, or are afraid to admit a hire was a mistake. Own it, learn from it, and do better the next time. Thats what most do, at State we just double down.

There are plenty of good coaches that fall between Choir boy and throw out the rulebook to win. Its time we hired a young experienced coach. Doesn’t need previous HC experience but coaching experience in a top proven program. I am ok with hiring someone who has the potential to be great. DD hire never had that potential, TOB never had that potential. With past hires it’s almost like we are afraid of trying to be great.

I don’t think the Heels are going to do as well this year. They will still be good, but I see Pitt and Miami giving them a lot of problems. I think Richt is going to absolutely do wonders with the talent in Miami.

Isn’t the issue accountability regardless of what we are talking about? Less and less folks are holding themseleves or their kids accountable for their actions. Little Johnny is a good kid, it isn’t his fault he broke the law. The schools failed my kid, the government failed my kid. People are always pointing the finger to someone else, only problem, there is 3 pointing back at you.

I am not expecting a good year. I think as a team we will be better, but our schedule is just plain brutual. If we rely on the running game to win this year we will be a very bad team. We did not have any vertical threats last year etc and it really hurt us. Teams stacked the box because they knew our WR couldn’t get separation. We can have all the great running back in the world but if we don’t have a passing game teams respect we are going to get clobbered. IT should have been our number two priority in the offseason. Our number one priority should have been defense. We have some good talent on that side of the ball and it is time to deliver.

There is no true evidence to support that ID requirements greatly effect one race more than another, as seen above. However the other crap in that bill does. If you look at the link you will notice that most states are already give the right back to felons once released. However the push is for them to be able to vote while incarcerated which is ludicrous.

    Felon voting rights

For the record I lean in the middle and do not support one party over another. With that being said, I view all of this as the same. Regardless of your measures there will always be fraud. It’s like Nascar, if you aint cheatin you aint trying. Both sides do it. If they truly wanted to make it easy why not use E-verify to vote? It’s required to be used in NC now to put people to work, why not also use it for voter id? As for IDs, I can assure you there are many who live in Charlotte, Raleigh and Greensboro who do not have ID. They use public transportation etc to get around. The republicans tried to slip this one in and got busted for it. The democrats are trying to allow felons to be allowed to vote. They are literally throwing the kitchen sink in to try and win, and why not there is no accountability anymore in this country.

If I had to pick between Dabo or DD it is a no brainer. Dabo relates to everyone, has a strong story to tell about overcoming adversity and doing it the right way throughout. Throw that in with best resources and great tradition for the school and you have a good recruiting. What story do we tell? How do we distinguish ourselves from everyone else. We have to pay for an elite coach or be happy with the same old results. Hopefully some of the many players we have had in the NFL as they retire get into coaching and become great, thats the only hope I think we have.

Challenged yes, but also an opportunity. Now we get to see exactly where we are as a program, and how close or far away we truly are.

What a great job by Baylors BOT. They cleaned house, as well as hired the best ft for interim coach you can find. Grobe will bring honesty and integrity to that program. Most importantly though he will bring accountability. While I don’t believe they will win a conference championship, at least BOT seems to get it.

I don’t think you put all the transfers of average players out on the GOTT. Did he have some part to play, sure. But I truly believe more of it is todays generation. They truly do have an entitlement attitude and know if you don’t give me what I want someone else will. Most of time that is playing time. I deal with kids with no actual talent and they have that attitude. I can only imagine, kids that have been fed how great they are’s attitude.

Does Gott have some coaching issues that need to be addressed absolutely. No defense, and no real offensive schemes. But the transfers out are not all on him. He isn’t innocent on it either.
