My short is looking good this morning. Might take a little off the table after the Duke game.

    Good article, sir!

Khan, you’re shorting penny stocks now? Just kidding, but there will definitely be a buy low opportunity after tonight’s game.

Lol! I wouldn’t buy after tonight’s game. Maybe buy after the Duke game for a potential swing trade. We’ll lose to UNC, which will likely be priced in, but maybe could get a bounce by beating FSU.

I’d short NC State stock here. Bear market of a 3-4 game schedule coming up.

Yawn yawn. If you can’t QB sneak it for a half yard, then you need to go back to the practice field and stay there until you figure it out. All the wildcat and shotgun crap with whatever and less than a yard needs to stop. Period.

^ “We got very lucky with Brissett. Without him, we are basically the same team as last year.”

With Brissett, we’re still basically the same team as last year. You can make a legitimate case that the offense is better. But so far, we have very little to show for it. Until we win an ACC game, we’re always going to be basically the same team as last year. Hopefully, that will change by the end of the year. If it doesn’t, it will be appropriate to examine some other possibilities as to why that is the case, beyond just recruiting. Until then, yeah, ok, recruiting’s the deal.

Looks like Frank Beamer was interrupted before he finished talking: “Then you win by a little, then you win some/lose some….”

I’m not sure what the problem is. If we shoot as well as we tackle, then nobody was really ever in any danger.

44 might be wrong. But he might very well be right. There’s a big difference between saying we will likely not elevate above Duke, UNC, Syracuse, and Louisville and saying we’ll suck.

Until we solve the transfer thing and the defense thing and the lack of composure in close games thing and the free throw thing, I haven’t seen any logical thought cluster that gives solid reasoning on why we’ll be be much higher than 6th or 7th.

It’s probably too early to bail on Gottfried, but there are some definite red flags that remain hoisted over the program. Until they’re lowered, I’m not sure why we should expect a bunch of great things.

Need to haul in the bricks. If TFDU can clog the lane, swipe some shots, keep the hands in check, knock down some easy Js, and stay in the game like last time, that’ll be huge. When he sits down, bring in Burgertime for a floor-bending dunk or two, and we got us a game.

We need BRO to stay en fuego, collapse the D and kick out to Big T for the dish swish. WBPBS is finding his game again. Watch out. It’s on like Donkey Kong when he slicin n dicin. And if Street Ball is strokin it like H1 vs the Debils, then it’s game over and I mean quick.

Gonna be sweet watching Krispy Kreme on the sidelines distracting the Billies. They think they’re ready, but if she’s got the red dress on, oh baby.

    Red by 6.

I am so tired of hearing about refs. Refs, refs, refs. It’s such an excuse. Whining about refs and the ACC might make somebody feel better, and it might explain a loss here or there, but it’s not the problem. The problem is, we lose close games because we consistently play worse than the other teams in the last minute of the game.

    We foul.

    We don’t defend.

We inbound the ball into the corner and hold it or dribble around until the trap comes.

    We don’t rebound.

    We miss big shots.

    We turn the ball over.

    We miss free throws.

And what does the other team usually do?

    Hit free throws.

    Hit big shots.

    Defend well.

    Rebound.

    Inbound the ball better.

    Not dribble off their feet.

    Win.

Our consistent inability to execute in the final minute of the game year after year after year is why we lose close games. Until that changes, and I see no reason that it’s going to anytime soon, we will continue to see the same results.

But by all means, blame the refs, the ACC, John Swofford, the NCAA, the National Weather Service, Halley’s Comet, Miley Cyrus twerking, or moose farts if that helps folks feel better.

The sad thing is, I knew we weren’t going to win. I knew we were going to give it away. Why? Because that’s what we do. That’s who we are . We’ve been that way for a long time, and it’s hard to believe that we’re going to change anytime soon. No, we did what we do. And there’s always a reason:

It was a bad call. It was a whole game of bad calls. It was a costly turnover. It was poor execution. The other team hit a full court shot. There was an injury. We’re a young team. We have a bad coach. We don’t have the talent. There was an unlucky break. We had a lot of players unexpectedly transfer. We’re rebuilding. There was a snowstorm. There was an earthquake. An asteroid hit Australia. A moose farted somewhere. It doesn’t matter. There’s always a reason. And there’s always a reason to wait till next year.

So we’ll keep on waiting and keep on hoping while we keep on watching the same movie over and over. Maybe the channel will change some day…but I doubt it.
