trying to make something good out of something bad, this will provide more playing time and development for the younguns:
shaun Kirk, DariusHicks, Lavar batts, malik Johnson. need a strong five person class next year with NO ONE AND DONES! No more short-timers.

I don’t understand, you guys can type 4 paragraphs but you cant type a guys name. who the %&#% is GFK?

kids are leaving because of discipline, there was none before. my understanding 3 guys were late for a team function this week and spent an hour and a half running laps.

recruiting, I assume that includes players transferring in and out.
the other site’s posters are hinting that Kapita and Rowan are not returning stating that their skills do not reflect Keatts style of play. Did Keatts not state at his press conference that he would prefer to play the normal configuration of 2G, 2F and center if he had the players? I dont see how Maverick Rowan does not fit Keatts style. Would Keatts not be smarter to play the style that reflects the players that he has.

In Greek mythology, Procrustes (Prokroustes) or “the stretcher [who hammers out the metal]”, also known as Prokoptas or Damastes “subduer”, was a rogue smith and bandit from Attica who physically attacked people by stretching them or cutting off their legs, so as to force them to fit the size of an iron bed.

Procrustean is thus used to describe situations where different lengths or sizes or properties are fitted to an arbitrary standard.

A Procrustean solution is the undesirable practice of tailoring data, (participants, children) to fit its container or some other preconceived structure.
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Procrustes

Or is the situation that these kids really drank the Gottfreid KoolAid and actually believed in him and loved him and no one can replace him?

my kid talked to markell and he said he was excited about playing for Keatts next year
he was sitting with Darius Hicks and Sean Kirk and they agreed that they are looking forward to next year.

at the company I work for, they pay a guy what he is worth (value), independent of where he came from or how much money they were making before.
value is dependent of the scope of work they are assigned in this job, (not his last position) with additional bonuses per year that the employee met objectives or exceeded objectives.

If some day Keatts leaves for greener pastures, that means he has improved NC State basket ball and made us a better destination.
Good for both of us. from the presser and the students reaction, I think the selection was a home run.

Why are we failing to hire P5. Money? Facilities? Location? Conference?

lack of prestige is the reason, lack of recent relevant history
we are using the same men’s basketball coach hiring strategy as other schools in our league, Wisconsin, Florida, Arizona, Purdue, Maryland, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Wake, Clem,

look at the guys they are looking at, Crean, Hurley, Wade, Manning, and several lesser know guys that would have created an uproar if been hired here. Keatts would have been at the top of OKS’s list had we not snagged him first.

for the past three hires we have expected to steal a successful coach away from a P5 conference team and have failed. many other teams when they made their hires most people had never heard of the names. only the big name teams Kansas, Mich, UCLA, KY can expect to take that route. Wichita state, Florida, Wisconsin, Vill, Ariz, Purd, Xav, Butler, USC, Baylor all hired their coaches when they were relatively unknowns, unproven.
What have we done in the past 20 years to expect to hire like the big boys?
We made a solid hire, as good as we could have gotten.
From my neighbor’s father who played for State in the 60s, the facts are, if we did not hire him when we did, he would not have been available in one week.
We should be thankful and excited about our future, Just like Florida and Arizona’s fans should have been when they made their hires.

lets plan on Keatts being so successful that Louisville tries to steal him when Pitino retires

my son sent me a picture of the team last night with Keatts, Anya and DSmith2 were missing. all the scholarship players were in the picture. Abu had a big smile on his face but that just may be his personality. Keatts looks to be 5 inches shorter than Markell and 12″ shorter than abu?

    Next big questions
1.) who is k2t2 going to hire as assistants?
2.) who will be back among the current players, (not counting anya and smith)?
If anya were coming back could you imagine him running as much as they say k2t2 makes them run in practice?
    3.) who will be new?

I come here to get good information on NC State basket ball. I was a Archie fan all along. Every time I see this headline I cringe, I wish you would remove it. this board is(was) so much better than Packpride, but it is getting almost as bad.
it is time to move on. Keatts is our coach.
Like my Dad said about the president of the United States (Obama), it shows bad character to always be bad mouthing him. He is YOUR President. Keatts is OUR Coach. nothing you say or do will change that and will only poison the well.
I propose that the moderators shut these strings down and open a new one with discussion on the future.
We dont (yet) know what went on and what was said behind closed doors. stop criticizing from ignorance. If you have facts, share them. if you have negative opinions, tell them to your dog. you are poisoning this site, the fans and our energy.
My seats are three rows behind the State bench. I gave my tickets away to most games the past two years because the team made me sick. I am looking forward to a new exiting era with NC State basketball and I will be there to support them as many nights as possible.

I like Wade, but if he is so good why is VCU a 10 seed and Saint Mary’s a 7 seed?
is the West coast conference that better a conference than the Atlantic 10?

    But seriously, Chris Collins………..

I think Chris Collins would be a homerun hire. Look at the genes and coaching tree.
I don’t care if amaker and dawkins did not realize the success that was expected. sooner or later (the odds are) a great coach will come out of the K tree and Collins has everything going for him. I am not a Duke or UNC hater. I have parents, wife and kids that attended (graduated from) both schools.

Chris Collins would be an exceptional hire, as good as we could ever get. but I doubt he would accept if we offer. we missed that chance when NW plucked him from Duke

In MY mind, Wade >>>> Keatts. Tons of reasonable candidates below his level. Below Keatts’ level?? I don’t have enough beer to think about that. But I’d rather give the job to Hodge, Vinny the Black, Moton, or someone randomly chosen from the phonebook before Keatts.

    /pray for Arch

what is your big negative on Keatts?
break it down, maybe Debbie is reading

Everyone will listen if UCLA, Kentucky, or U*NC calls. Maybe Indiana or Kansas, too.

Those are the 5 that can say “absolute destination.”

Would Duke Michigan and maybe Texas be in that top tier?

if we hire one of the coaches Miller, Keatts or Wade, what is normal?
do coaches usually bring their whole staff with them or do they hire new assistants?
seems that they would have a totally different level of budget and could select better assistants
I would love to see bobby Lutz back on the bench as a statician and to see him hire a known recruiter

Miller is not going to get a better offer anywhere else, anytime soon, a school proven that can attract bigtime talent, on the biggest stage in the country in the greatest state in the country. the weather is great and the people are too. just like Kung-foo panda, It is time for him to accept his inheritance, bring his family home and to step up to the challenge and slay the evil empire.
He will be treated like a hero coming home to save the legacy
