This is bad. This could knock us out of the NCAA. Not just losing but getting dominated.

Hold UNc to record low points. Allow BC to have their best offense game of the year. It’s true, we can’t beat Duke or UNC and follow with a win. We could have played West Durham HS today and lost.

    Thanks for the answer Keymaster!

I am completely positive that the NC BOG has put way more time, effort, thought, and planning in to our Logos and Uniform designes than the NC State athletic department.

    Yes, that drips with sarcasm.

It’s amazing to me that we ever got the “state” logo on the uniforms in the first place. We did that in football and basketball(all sports I think) for 2 years before they made us change back.

What a head scratcher. Why don’t we put a middle finger on the middle of the next uniform with NCBOG on the knuckles and see how long it takes for the BOG to make us change that?

I’m sure this has been brought up and I missed it somewhere. I thought at some point DY wanted everything to say “STATE” and then somehow we got back to NC State. I also like “STATE” with the block S logo so that NC was implied. Why did we have a change of heart on that?

One thing that was awesome and classy was when they showed the team walking to the locker room after the win. Whitt and Gott gave each other a huge hug and the looks on their faces were priceless. 30 something years later and Whittenburg is still looking to hug the coach!

My sister -in – Law and brother -in -law are both UNC grads. I had the fine opportunity to watch a UK basketball game with them at Christmas. They both made comments on how big a cheater Callipari is. I don’t care to express my feelings on Callipari, but I will say this. The only concern UnC has is why they are not out cheating Kentucky. Winning games at any cost is the only thing that matters to them. They truly believe that all college programs are doing what they are doing and have no regard to the responsibility of living up the mission statement of all Universities: educating all students regardless of them being athletes. I know that’s a general mission statement but you get my point. Unc has brain washed themselves and their fans into turning their heads on the right thing to do.

This will be the 3rd time in 4 years that a Gott Squad has been picked 9th(or so) and he has over achieved each time. At the end of the day, If you want to take a nice stab at who will be good, look at the experience. Miami 13′ and Virginia 14′ were loaded with Seniors and nobody picked it. Both of those squads took ACC Regular and Tournament. I have a lot of confidence in Gott. The loss of Deshawn Painter was big on the 13′ State team. Left us without the depth we really needed to make a conference title push. People were disappointed that season but we played most of our games with 6 guys that season with Purvis fading fast on us. I like the depth we have this season. We have some unknowns with our Freshman and Trevor Lacey. Look for Kyle Washington to be the emotional and physical leader of this team. This conference should get 8 teams in the NCAA tournament. Which really plays into Gott’s hands. Have the team playing good at the end of the year and make a big run at the end. I like us to finish 5, 6, or 7. We are young, but I think we have more talent across the team than we have had in a long time. If they play together, this is going to be a fun year Boys and Girls! GO PACK!

I hate it. I don’t mind switching the colors around like Clemson does. Purple pants, orange pants, etc. When you turn the TV on and you have to make a double take to figure out who is playing, it has gone too far. I hope this Oregon influence fad dies out soon. But Nike, Under Armor, and Adidas are fueling it so it is probably here to stay.

I don’t buy any of this junk. Nobody picked Miami in 13’and nobody picked Virginia in 14′. Gott has finished above expectations in 2 0f 3 seasons. It’s going to be tough but we are bringing back a group of guys who fought there way in to the tourney last year. If they head into the summer with the right attitude, they will “get out what they put in.” It’s not an easy conference, no doubt. We need to finish in the top half and we will most likely be fine.

It’s gonna be tough to get a kid like this when we have a starter at PG for the next two years at minimum. Really, who do we have on this team that is going pro after next year? I think 2015 will be a light recruiting class because the kids we have are probably going to make this team up for the next two years minus any transfers. At this point, I hope that the majority of Gott’s transfer problems are behind him. You can’t make everyone happy for sure. What we need is mature players. That was not a flash in the pan team Virginia had this year. Those guys bought into that program and they won the conference. Miami had plenty of seniors the year before. Don’t get me wrong, Ill take a good recruit or transfer, but 2016 is probably the bigger focus.

I hope TJ can remain as close as possible to the program. He is a guy that I really hope will continue to work on his degree. Let’s hang that Jersey as soon as possible!

Good Luck in the NBA TJ! Make us proud!

On Gott: I have said this before and I will say it again. Coaches at major conference basketball programs get paid big bucks to win. If your are good enough to make me(the coach) win, you are going to play right now! That’s how it is.

On transfers: Let’s be real, if you are good enough, you would not need to transfer. There is no NCAA basketball coach in the nation benching a legit NBA talent.

Do we need players to buy in to win, regardless if they are NBA talent? Yes.
I’m not sure if Lewis or Purvis were truly recruited by Gott. There may have been a lot of Lowe work there. I don’t think Gott has truly had his own recruits transfer at this point.

this was a rebuilding year and we made the tourney. I think there is room for improvement and unfortunately 20+ years of mediocre basketball has crafted our fan base into the negative group we are when it comes to basketball. I’m 33 years old. I don’t remember the 80’s or the 70’s and Everett Case might as well be Babe Ruth. I think the future is bright with Gott. So I will choose to be positive. I’m sick of watching the old banners in the arena getting older and older. I am proud of the history. I’m also proud of all the NCAA banners from the teams I remember especially the 12′,13′ and now 14′ team. When Les coached, the NCAA was a pipe dream that seamed untouchable. I liked Less, those were sad years though.

I’m going to stop ranting now. Go PACK!

Next year is nothing but Gott recruits. Awesome! Also, numbers wise this is the deepest his bench has been since he arrived. The players returning all had quality time and seem to be bought into his system. We have 3 freshman coming in that appear to be good on paper. I also believe that this could finally be a Gott team that plays strong D. They are going to have to until they find the scoring to replace TJ. Honestly if this group works hard “together” in the off season, why should we not be good for 70 points a game? When was the last time we had this much talent combined in our “Big Man” positions. I don’t know if any of them are as talented Powell, Simmons, Hickson, Smith, Howell, etc. I just can’t remember the luxury of having this many down low at the same time. Should be a fun and interesting season. Until next year my friends. Plenty of time to speculate and see how recruiting goes for 16′ and 17′.

I think we should also thank Central for having a really good season. That ended up being a quality loss, not a back breaker.

I just wish Cat and Tyler could combine to be more of a scoring threat. If that happened it would open our offense up so much more. It hurts to know that we have two Micky D’s point guards that don’t shoot very well as of right now. I just feel it’s a confidence problem and that they are both capable of being efficient scorers.

We knew that this would be a tough game to win coming into it. We just don’t need to let it beat us twice. I honestly believe we are the clear cut 6th(meaning I think ACC gets 6 teams in the NCAA)best team in the ACC and plenty of games left to prove it. Let’s hope our boys play good down the stretch and we can let the NCAA chips land as they may. I’m very proud of what our coaching staff and players have accomplished this season. Remember we were picked 10th in the preseason. I believe the best is yet to come with this team. We proved we can play with anyone last night. Beat Clemson! Go PACK!!

^Good Point. I guess I was just looking at it from the standpoint of finishing better than FSU. I think we have a shot at finishing 5th or 6th as of right now.

If we split UNC and find a way to win one of the games at Syracuse or Pitt then we would get two solid resume building wins. Then we need to win 4 or 5 out of the remaining six. That would give us 20 or more wins with a chance earn more in the ACC tourney.

When I saw the schedule at the beginning of the year I named February, “Roaduary.”

How in the world did we get a schedule like that?

I hope Florida State starts to fall apart. That would help. Better if Carolina did, but let’s be real. The powers that be love them and they would have to lose a lot more to get counted out. Florida State just won the National Championship in Football, so I’m not worried about their feelings for a few years.
