    High & Bill, et. al.

This is a very interesting turn of events….some factoids that I have dug up….after a whole lot of research.

The new Lawyer is a real tiger…It cost Karl Rove several million dollars to avoid prosecution as Fitzgerald believed he was the one that provided Robert Novak with Valerie Plame’s name or confirmed it. Rove’s attorney spent almost a month pouring over his emails and found several that showed Rove had no involvement. The meeting between Rove and his attorney and Fitzgerald took 5 minutes….and no apology.

Fitzgerald was also the prosecutor for Gov. Blaggooo or whatever from IL. He did not do a great job there.

You DO have to wonder if the upcoming Mary Willingham (and possibly Jay Smith) cases are behind it. Also the recent Title IX suits for not properly handling Sexual Assaults.

WONDER if he will get involved in the NCAA mess? He does not seem to have a background there.

NOW….who is paying this character. Well, it AIN’T YOU AND ME. The UNC Fund is well over $2,000,000,000 and seems to be invested quite well. The income from the fund is slated for certain items….which are spelled out in the charter or “legalese” of the fund. Currently about HALF the income will handle the “Fiduciary” commitment. I think it is some percentage amount. BUT, the fund is generating about TWICE that….in other words….half of the income must be distributed. The OTHER half is up to the discretion of the BOT and the UNC Admin. THAT is what has been paying Mr. Wainstein, esq. That is what will pay Barrister Fitzgerald….

Off point a bit….Mr. Chizik has NOT been announced. There are wee bits of rumbling in the sewer stench of IC. BUT, folks have said that he is watching video daily in the Haloed Kenan FB Complex. BUT, there are no pictures of him. They believe….I personally do not know. If UNC is so incorrectly PC as to hiring him, then they need to get Bill Clinton and Bill Cosby to be the overnight chaperones for the newly formed Sweet Caroline’s Player Enhancement Squad that will now travel with both the FB and BB teams…..

YES, I did notice that Gottfried had on a white shirt. I also check that out….whether at the PNC or watching at home.

YES, I did send out a note to the appropriate individuals congratulating Gottfried on his choice of shirt color and the resulting victory.

I was also pleased to see that Des got PT. I agree that he is a defensive terror and keeps the “energy level” up and hope he gets more PT.

CAT is still a WIP, sometimes a very SPOOKY one. However, Gottfried and his brain trust are paid millions to see this….and maybe they have some experience and insight that we, mere mortals, do not.

I did not see Twin 1 on the floor….and I was THERE and the folks in my section also noted that Twin 2 came in.

Twin 2 did an outstanding job. BJ (the POG) noted that and said that he told Cody that his contributions today were one of the major reasons for the victory. BJ is very eloquent also and has a good grasp of the game and made some “coach like” comments.

    On to UNC….go PACK

Was watching from the Champions Club on the Bench side. Our seats are in 214 on the front and we look almost straight down the sideline.

The security guys chased out the Cheerleaders with about 5 to go. Then they started to pull chairs or the folding rows. They appeared to be setting up an “secured” exit for the Dukies…..which was good planning.

They probably should have been setting up on for the Refs. I hate to complain….but it SURE seemed like the Refs were trying to protect their point spread bets. If you watched the fouls, we got out share…..quickly in the 2nd half and it looked like Duke was going to win from the line….which they did outscore us by 10 points.

THEN, security tried to stop the “Herd”. After the rush (melee) was over….the crowd had toppled the seats (folded them DOWN….don’t know if they were SUPPOSED to fold that way…but they did). The entire section from the Backboard Post to the sideline (left….the scorer/team side) were trampled. Looked like it was “neatly” done from a distance….but the poor chairs that were laying on their sides with the legs sticking up did not appear to be real happy.

I have watched about 10 or “floor rushes” from this area….and this is the FIRST (as I recall) where the fans just walked OVER the seats.

    Great game…

Interesting article in the N&O today.

    http://www.newsobserver.com/2015/01/09/4462780/acc-terminates-relationship-with.html

Looks like KKH will actually hang up his whistle for GOOD. The OTHER conferences that he works for have indicated that THEY intend to terminate his services.

Could NOT have happened to a nicer arrogant, pompous, idiotic, psychotic, dysfunctional (I gotta stop…) individual.

SO, for those of us that went to Reynolds and saw the Wofford game….we have added one more “Once in a State Fan’s Lifetime” events.

It was the LAST NCSU game that KKH ever called….

The Lady Pack, BTW, had an outstanding ROUT of Clemson in Reynolds today. It was a blowout where the pack was up by 25 (of so) point at the half…and the margin never dropped below 19….GREAT GAME…

Well, NOW….is that peachy keen? The way that KH made up with GOTT….I was expecting the Lou Bello – Norm Sloan treatment for the next game….

BUT, I will be glad that he is OUT.

He MUST have had a run-in with Wake before. When I pulled his stats, Wake was the ONLY ACC team that had “red circled” him….in that he did NOT ref a single WFU game for a full season.

We got TWO seasons….I can now add to my Reynolds Experience….Last NCSU game that KH called.

The shoes MUST be checked for KKH initials….but I suggest a full body scan for Tattoos…..MAYBE this will do some good.

I totally agree about Luckie, Valentine and Dorsey. When we fans know those names and faces….and several, besides me obviously do….then those refs are no longer part of the supposedly invisible Zebra Squad….

Good riddance….but it was for an PC or perhaps an INCORRECT PC slur that got him….Capone was done in by the IRS…

    Final question for GOTT
    4. When will you learn that Light Blue is NOT a Game Day Shirt Color choice…

    Seriously,

We looked great for most of the game….but we got outplayed at the end. Maybe outcoached.

Several of the folks around us in the PNC were expecting a 20 point blow out or Butt Kicking…

I was very proud of our effort tonight….up till about 5 to go…..then we looked like the team that I feared would show up…

Lacey may have taken over….but Cat was NOT EVEN IN THE STATE of VIRGINIA for most of the game.

Turner and Washington carried us and they need credit for that. The Martin twins also had great games….oh YES….they are FROSH…

Chizik’s hiring is fascinating. The IC crowd put out a half hour podcast last night extolling the wonders that would come from Gene being the Hat’s right handed man. They did not discuss such little issues as Trooper (White Supreme Santa) Taylor and other little “inconvenient” issues.

In addition, the word “HIRE” was all the rage. Today, after Chansky broke the news that everyone “knew”, the IC crowd went into full panic mode. PP and all Wuffies and Mary Willingham and Jay Smith and BobLee and anyone else they could think of were castigated and called $hi% for Brains.

When some of the “respected” posters tried to bring order, there was a mutiny and it really got ugly.

What is so interesting about this whole comical mess is the $$. Chizik will be the 4th highest paid UNC employee. Roy – 1; Hat – 2 and the UNC Health Czar – 3. PLUS, it takes a UNC BOT meeting to actually “approve” the proposed contract.

Alpha may be correct….maybe the staff took control of the asylum for a brief time and the patients will eventually wrest control.

As to Herr Hess. I posted a forum on this. It is hilarious. FYI, WFU is the ONLY ACC school in the past 10 (memory….I did this a while ago) years that Hess did NOT ref for one year. Me thinks that WFU “red circled” King Kong Hess. There may be some bad blood there. Now NCSU has the record. TWO years without a ref. THAT must have been some heavy duty protesting to keep KH and the Pack apart.

Karl is as equally fascinating as the UNC administration.

    Time will tell….

You lads seem to think that KH and MG are now BFFF for Life….

I admit, that if you were in Reynolds seated on the “TV Announcer’s” side about mid court, that KH and MG DID have some intimate moments….after the technical.

The funniest was when Karl playfully slapped MG on the REAR after one of their discussions as he walked away.

Who KNOWS….but Hess really should watch his mouth….WF obviously has had some unpleasant encounters with him. Maybe the Ex-VC was razzing him like Googs & Corch a few years ago.

Dorsey and Valentine and Luckie are probably a worse draw….but I think that KH is about as predictable as WHICH WP team will suit up and play on any given night.

    Bill.onthebeach,

It was a GOOD Comprehensive safety program (worked well in other international operations as well as the US) that needed to be followed…..and the plant was giving it lip service. After I did my little…”I ain’t gonna put up with this mess and you are going to shut down the factory for a couple of hours….on a shift by shift and department basis”, the Plant Manager balked. Then, I told him that I was sure than the accident that triggered my anger was high enough on the “Severe, but could have been MUCH worse….an arm amputation” scale and that the first response would be the corporate director (and maybe a VP or two) and a bunch of Corporate “assistants” coming in on the following Monday…..and I would be with them giving them all the info that they needed to really make his life miserable….and his bonus would be the first casualty.

At that moment, I was using an invisible bully pulpit….but he blinked. I then told HIM to call the Division President and explain WHAT happened….and that I would run interference and keep OUT all the corporate “help”. BUT, he had to do a 2 hour Safety lecture in every department in small groups and have his managers and supervisors there. He decided that following my lead was a better option than getting his rear ripped and having a white paper written on his incompetence….

It worked….when I retired, the plant had gone 3 years without a lost time accident…..and they keep sending me watches with additional years added.

SO, you can do a bit of theatrics and when you get a psychological advantage, you use it. Sort of like my old HS FB coach telling us that whether on D or O, to use every ounce of strength on that FIRST play (was on the interior line) and really “pop” the guy across the line….hit him hard, first….and get the edge and it would be a much easier night (physically) for you and that it would carry over in the game. Take your best shot FIRST.

Yes, it really doesn’t matter WHICH one starts the O, but you need to have a dominant player that the OTHER 3 look to for direction. That, IMHO, is Lacey.

You are correct, up to a point, on Lacey. His 10 year goal is to be an NBA assistant….but really wants to be the HC. Read the Wolfpacker that had the profiles. The rest of the guys were talking about driving their sports cars and having a stable of beauties and leading the good life…

Trevor has his head on straight….and is a real asset.

It will be interesting to see how Gott plays this out. Your charting post will be interesting as the season wears on.

ALSO….did you note that Tim Nestor was one of the Ref’s. He is one of the most prolific whistle blowers and is in the top 5 as far as fouls go. KH is the king of Technicals….

Yesterday’s game was very low, from a foul standpoint.

We have actually seen that quite a bit. When Cat is having one of his “chains for nets” moments….then Lacey will take over. I think that Lacey has played PG in almost every game….save the one where he was injured.

What I am asking about is WHY is Gott keeping Cat at PG? I do not profess to be a scholar on Cat’s background. I also think that Cat signed on as a PG, but he seems to have “lapses”. My regular crew around me starts to “moan” when he keeps the ball past the 15 second (shot clock) mark and then seems to have that “WTF” do I do know and then his “streets” take over.

He is a very intelligent and creative and talented player….but he does not, to me, have the coach’s mentality that Lacey does….and Lacey is a scorer.

    Just curious….

    Bill.onthebeach & others,

Observations…..maybe wrong and certainly not from a talking head (OAT) paid to yak.

Gott seemed really sincere after the Cincy loss. His apology was not staged and his anger (disgust) was evident. THEN, I wonder if the “coach” theatrics kicked in. I have started down a path to get some things fixed when I was an “in house” corporate consultant and also responsible for the overall success of programs that were developed by me, but executed or administered by others. One time in particular, I was so mad that I did something that was a little daring and it shook up the Plant Manager so much that he caved and agreed to do it my way. It turned around the entire plant and I was able to use that victory to make some major changes. The results were great….

Gott COULD have used this opportunity at the next practice to have a “Come to Jesus meeting” of the highest order. He could have really chewed out the team and laid down the law. Something that was probably needed long ago, but better late than never.

Wonder HOW LONG that little scenario will work? I guess we shall see as we are now in the ACC game series.

Next, I wonder if he also had the same meeting with the assistants and the “other contributors”? I would have said….”Debbie ain’t gonna fire me this year…..but she will the next if I don’t have some more W’s…..therefore, I will have to make player and possibly coaching changes and this is my last shot….”

    ¿me entiendes, mis amigos

SO, he got a double whammy….motivate the coaches and the team.

NEXT….he did wear a WHITE shirt….not that same blue checked ugly rag that he wore TWICE….once at LA Tech and the other at Cincy.

NOW, from our view in the Lenovo area….we look right down the NCSU bench. This was the first game….almost EVER, that I saw all THREE assistants jumping up and down and shouting at the same time. Pitt was on Offense and Gottfried was yellowing. Lutz will oftentimes be up and issuing instructions. This time Early and Moxley were also antimated. It seemed like the assistants were more “into” the game. They were also more vocal and involved on Offense.

Gottfried pulled a Lowe, at least to me, on this game. He was yelling at Cat constantly on Offense and Cat seemed to be looking over his shoulder for what play or set to run. Gott seemed to be running the show instead of letting the PG’s do it.

Which brings me to the final point….guard….that is. I have listened to Lacey at least three times, maybe four on the Radio and also the TV interviews. Yesterday, he broke down the game like a coach. Tony and Gary were asking him the SAME questions that they would have asked Gott.

I WONDER why Lacey does NOT run the Point and let Cat do his “I can improve a score” trick as the shooting or second guard. Lacey has a much better, to me, feel for the game that Lowe did….

Just wondering if eventually Lacey will be the PG? His 3 point % is higher than Turner’s….but Turner is of the Whitt school and he will put them up….whether they go swish or clank.

I was impressed with Cody yesterday. He seemed to be more at ease and started to come into his own. He has not had the PT that Caleb has. But, you GOTTA wonder WHY we have to pull three Frosh into the fray…

Finally, Des did not play yesterday. He seems to have a lot of energy, especially on defense. Guess that his skill set is not up to what the staff perceives of the others. BUT, when he goes in, the D wakes up.

It was also interesting that Gott did NOT empty the bench and let the practice squad get some crowd recognition. It certainly was not in doubt after the 2:00 to go mark.

What say the rest of you?

Sacred Excrement…..I don’t believe this. Jimbo is being more embarrassed that Mr. Stoops…..and that took some doing. Did Jameis not get his nightly serving of crab legs or free sodas or perhaps his quickie before the game?

I have never been an FSU fan….and I will state that. But, they were the ACC’s rep and John & Company in Greensboro….who are all sitting around their million dollar plus “Media War Room” have to be hitting the JD or Crown or whatever pretty hard by now.

Since I expressed distaste for JW, the Punk….then I HOPE this severely impacts his NFL Draft Stock and he is not taken until the last round on the last day of whatever.

Jimbo has the “deer in headlights” or Deer with blinding 10 MegaWatt LED’s shining on him and the American Sniper tweaking his scope. What a fiasco?

JW just tried to throw another pick 6….but the Oregon defender refused to catch it. Now JW is mouthing about something on the field and Jimbo is telling him to cool it.

I guess all those little “character passes” that Swoff and company gave to FSU and JW to keep them in contention for the playoff’s were not really appreciated.

    WOW,

You folks have been busy. I just finished installing a new LED in the cabinet where the original 55 rear projection and the 55 side projection lived….and the LED was an interesting install.

GT is whipping up on Miss State….and TCU done hurt Old Miss (not a good night for Miss)…

After a glass of wine….here are my thoughts. I do have LTR’s in the Lenovo Champion’s club. I could eat a lot cheaper and then go to the game, but I like it and my GK’s and daughter and, especially, my wife LOVES it. SO we will be there….some rain, sleet, snow, dark of night or lack of offense/defense. Last night was a bummer.

It all started harmlessly when Gott wore the SAME light blue shirt that he did to the La Tech game and we barely pulled that one out. BUT, we did not seen panicked. In fact, when we got the lead, there was no doubt that we would keep it and win.

Don’t know what happened to that team….but they did NOT show up.

One of the discussions was about Coach G and how we ended up with him and the process. My memory is that we got turned down for a few and that Shaka Smart said YES. We flew in a COVEY of lawyers and they stayed up all Saturday night and hammered out a deal. It was a GOOD deal for Shaka and us and the lawyers had a letter of intent and the contract was ready to be signed.

Shaka did NOT back out. He was ready to go….but his VERY pregnant wife pulled the rug out. She was staying in Richmond with her OBGYN and having their first child there and really had no plans to move to Raleigh. End of Discussion. You can’t really fault Debbie for that little “out of the blue”. THEN, we were really without Plan Z….as we had used up ALL of our “NCSU is a GREAT BB School…” capital. Debbie really did, sort of, lose it. She fired off an email that was more controversial than some of the president’s executive orders….but she did have ONE ace. I, and several others here, were in email communication with her late that Sunday evening. She said that she was trying to be honest with us, but had ONE really intriguing option….and that she was trying to “land that one”. She did…She did confirm the rumors the next day well before the presser….

SO, that is how we GOT GOTT…

As to the team….I am with a LOT of folks here….Gott got upset…as well he should have been….but it does make we wonder WHY a group of guys that showed a LOT of promise….as well as the “desire to win” lost it over the Christmas holiday. Trevor did not hit diddly….and BJ was just “there”….almost concentrating on getting more blocks that shots.

The younger kids played great. But we have MORE older folks that usual. We need to get Turner and Lacey and Cat and Washington ALL revved up. Duke looked lethargic against Wofford for about 19 minutes….then they did their DUKE KILLS for the second half. They will destroy us unless we learn to get the ball down and understand HOW to score against a tough D.

Time will tell. Pitt is coming to town and we will be there.

    Happy New Year…

Look at it this way…..Bo Hines is transferring because he wants an Ivy League degree. Don’t know his major or academic area……but he has to make a decision based on his personal needs.

Many of us have achieved personal financial successes as well as personal career successes with a degree from NCSU…..so NCSU is no slouch institution…

Good Luck to Bo…..he will miss hearing Scotty and Wagon Wheel on the PA System….

Trivial NOTE…..Yale does NOT provide Athletic Scholarships…..or so my son says. One eighth of the student body participates in some type of sports as they have more sports programs. There is NO Ivy League FB reps for a Bowl. They declined that….BB, YES….FB no.

Assume that he will get some type of academic scholarship or other enticement or from the various “endowments”. You can’t blame some marauding FB coach or such from Yale that done “stole him”. Yale funds sport that we would never think of….but they probably do NOT have a Bass Fishing Team….

I was at the game and it was NOT a pleasant halftime. Just sitting there and reflecting on the score….down 15. And our FG & 3 PT & FT %’s were really depressing…..but we did lead in Turnovers. Then it really got bad.

My take is that it was the curse of the shirt. If you look at Coach Gott’s shirt in the Postgame Presser, he probably got a call from ORW who wanted to know WHERE he bought it?

Don’t know, but finally, the team showed some courage. They did believe and they came back.

I wonder if they really had not taken LT seriously. Most are going home this morning and looking forward to a few days off and to be with family.

Trevor Lacey, in the WPN post game, summed it up. KW fired them up and the shots started to fall. YES, they did change their style of play…..and were playing with confidence. Both Lacey and Cat did their spectacular behind the back dribbling….that same routine that turned the ball over ONE out every THREE possessions against WVU.

But, they kept their poise. When we got within 2, you KNEW (or you should have) that LT would make a mini-run and extended the lead to around 8 (6?) or so. But, we took a deep breath and responded and took the lead.

I have seen us play with a small lead against WORSE teams and been totally tense as to winning. Last night, we let it drop to 4 or so, but there was never any doubt in my mind that we were going to win.

I did not bother to read the first 8 posts….probably a lot of adult beverages were consumed….and folks, hopefully, feel better. The holiday season can cause a lot of unneeded stress and maybe all the postings about firing Coach, firing AD Yow, burning down the PNC, etc. (or was that about UNC?) should have made folks feel better.

First, From the PNC….it was a great game. Very good crowd for a weeknight against a non-ranked team. Crowd and students had a lot of enthusiasm.

Started out in Reynolds at NOON today. Lady Pack v. Liberty. The Karl Hess Hex and VooDooDoo was STILL there. Google Liberty and look WHO is in their Sports HoF.

    http://www.liberty.edu/Flames/index.cfm?PID=18442

King Karl Hess (aka….GOTT’s NEW BFF for the season….old Butt Patter) was in the fist round.

SO, It took some doing to get a victory for the Lady Pack. It was shades of Wofford..

    Onto PNC…

Little ragged coming out. BUT, we established who was the slapper and who was the slapee (Please, Domestic Violence or S&M fans….do NOT flame me).

BB is a game of runs….some idiotic Italian said that….and it was.

Tyndall used the JTV Pepperdine Strategy to try to salvage the game….but it did not work. We ACTUALLY hit most of our FT’s…some 70% or so.

Turner will GRADUATE tomorrow around 1:00….Tonight was REALLY SPECIAL. THAT could be the REAL MESSAGE…

He broke his 2013 record (which had already been broken this year) by 10 POINTS….33 TOTAL. He hit 8 TREY’s….yes 8. His past record was 6. He is NOT tied with a 3 or 4 other WP’ers……Rodney Monroe is still KING.

Other than irritating a few of the armchair coaches by NOT panicking and calling multiple time-outs to “calm down” the team….Gott did a pretty good job. He mixed up the O and the D and it kept UT off guard. He let them play through some ugliness and they seemed to overcome it.

YES, we missed a few critical free throws towards the end….but the outcome was really never in doubt. It was a great game…..so good that the folks that usually leave at 5 to go stayed. They only started to walk out under a minute.

Cat has lost his scoring touch….but Turner found it….and MORE. Lacey had 3 Trey’s….Turner and Lacey has a total of 11….and NO ONE ELSE DID.

Anya wall pulled due to needing some agility….his man nailed a few Treys….and Anya trying to go out to guard that….FORGET IT.

Anya DID pull another Coach on the Floor routine. He screamed and shouted and told the guys to get over on the corner to cut things off. He did the same at Wofford. He seems to be able to see “things” from his loftier perch.

Abu and Twin 1 played great games. Des and Freeman also helped out. Matter of fact, other than Cat’s drought…..it was a really perfect game.

It MAY go down in the book as a simple W. BUT, I think that the momentum of getting a solid win over a team that is NO SLOUCH will do wonders for the confidence of the lads going to “The Garden”….JTV would be proud.

We needed some confidence. Wofford was a tough loss….discounting all the extra curricular activity….and it did not seem to impact us tonight. I am always optimistic….so WVU….here comes the Pack. We done knocked off old Rocky Top…..bring on those Mountaineers.

WOW….what comments. May I suggest a double Crown Royal before posting….it calms the nerves…

OK, I wuz there and had seats directly across from the State Bench. KH had not actually had a foot on the sacred Reynolds Kay Yow (is Jimmy V so honored in the House that he dreamt of and started the movement?) when the fans started a BOOOOOO that would have caused the headless horseman to have steered his trusty steed back to the basement.

Next, KH was gloating and strutting. OK, maybe that is his typical demeanor….but he definitely had a “SWAG” about him. Bill on the Beach brings up a salient point.

I am NOT the keeper of all NCSU and ACC Ref’s stats, but Statsheet is really chocked full of data. KH’s two year sabbatical from having Gott as one of the coaches has spanned TWO YEARS. He was NOT invited (he declined….like yeah….how many times did Jimmy V “PASS” the microphone?….get my drift?) to the ACC Tourney. That is why Dorsey and Luckie and the other KH A$$ Licks wore their ceremonial “tribute” to a real HEEL. TWO YEARS is a RECORD for a regular ACC Ref to be “red circled” for one team. It has NEVER happened. Hess sat out one season for WFU….but that is IT…SOMEBODY COMPLAINED….LOUDLY…and KH was banned for 2 years.

During the game, it was not really much of a game….it was BORING. Neither team could hit $$hit. THEN, when Trevor went down, Gott asked a simple question. My lip reading skills are not that finely honed, but he did it in a respectful manner and did NOT charge at KH. Gott’s body language and facial expression were fairly calm. It was, in NO WAY, an affront to KH’s position or his “eminence”. BUT, KH was on a hair trigger….it happened.

THAT, IMHO, changed the tone and tenor of the game. Neither team seemed at ease…sort of a WTFU just happened. Are these two guys going into the chicken wire cage? SO, the scoring slowed down.

Fast Forward to the next…or maybe the next time out. Gott made a point of seeking out KH….even though the other refs were doing their best “Protect the KING at all costs” defense. BUT, when Gott FINALLY got to talk…Orlando Early looked like a court reporter. He was writing as fast as his nimble fingers would work. He would “cock his head” toward whoever was speaking….recording every word, in LONG HAND. I guess it would have been a bit “OTT” to have stuck his SmartPhone in Hess’s face. BUT, Gott DID have documentation.

NOW, for those not there….If you have read this far….this is NOT an exaggeration. AFTER Gott and KH talked, KH was a different REF. In some cases (reality….not the Crown), he really gave us MORE favorable calls. Gott and KH were totally friendly from that point on. I HONESTLY looked at the interaction (I used to travel a lot and studied folks in the airports) in disbelief. On ONE occasion, Gott walked off….Hess was walking away and Hess reached over and patted Gott on the BUTT. THIS WAS observed by all in my party. It was like watching ORW and Mikey work the refs. I have NO idea if our future encounters with KH and his “followers” will turn out. But, there certainly was NOT any animosity between the two of them after than.

We played hard….but we played TIRED. I think (did not check the stats) that BJ was in for then ENTIRE second half. Maybe NOT…but he was out there just to be the BIG GUY WHO BLOCKS.

Again…FF to the last 6 seconds. If you were there, you would have seen us line up. BJ was irate. He jumped up and down and waved his arms. NOT for defense…but to get Lutz’s attention. There was SOMETHING about the matchup that he felt was WRONG. Washington (memory) came OUT during the TO and Lenard came back in. BUT, they ran that SAME back door $$hit and got a basket.

That was the killer. Was 1.9 seconds enough…probably not.

Did Hess and company make the correct call? I do NOT know. Was TA’s knee down? The TV folks say YES….correct. If there was no perceptible air gap between Lacey’s fingers and the ball and the Red Light was ON…then that is it. SHAME ON NCSU if the OFFICIAL clock and the RED LIGHT is not Synched to the nearest nanosecond.

The RED LIGHT….is the STANDARD….that is it….we know the rules….the NCAA knows them….the ACC knows them. It DOES make for interesting speculation that KH did try to fornicate us….but the videos that have been examined seem to say….RED ON….Lacey has Ball.

It was a PAINFUL LOSS….the FIRST time since we left the Campus in 2000 that we lost. A heck of a way to leave our beloved Reynolds.

I agree….I would make a personal donation to kick up the seating so that the MEN can play there again. I would pay extra $$’s to sit in the new digs to watch the men. I WILL purchase Season tickets for the Lady’s in 2016 to help christen the new place…

Coach Early wrote down every word that Hess & Gott said……documentation.

Hess was red circled for two seasons. A first for any ACC ref….as far as I can go back

OK….I had to have my PC sterilized and wore a hazmat suit….but I did it.

If you go to the public forums in both PackPride and InsideCarolina….then you get some comments. Approximately 1:43 when the score was 64 – 52, Marv and Greg came out of a break. UNC was on the ropes and they started their little “ad lib” session. The tone of those remarks was very “ANTI” UNC and Coach Williams. Again, SAD was one of the words that I picked up. I have yet to find a video of the game. But, the banter went on from one break to the other.

When they came back from commercial, that was when the apologies started and the Mea Culpa’s.

Cowdog, YES….I fully agree that CBS has a major vested interest and that someone realized that Marv and Greg had stepped over the PC line. However, I do not think that the Executive Producer (Staff) at CBS is really that smart or that all knowing.

If you go here…..this is a description of the “ACC Media Monitoring Facility”

    http://espn.go.com/blog/acc/post/_/id/77604/saturday-with-swofford-inside-acc-ops-center

I used to work at WRAL and there was a “HOT LINE” next to the “producer” that was responsible for the ON AIR signal in the Master Control Room. It was a direct dial phone and it rang and a “strobe” flashed underneath the Main On Air signal monitor.

That number was only distributed to a few select folks….Fred Fletcher (CEO of Capital Broadcasting), Jesse Helms (VP at that time) and about 5 other folks who were high ranking WRAL execs. When it rang….you answered….or you were fired….this is Circa 1964…I will not go into detail about how a private porn video viewing in the VTR area was accidentally “aired” for 10 seconds and the phone rang and it was Fred and the tumult afterwards cost some jobs….but it was in place locally then.

Whether there is a Light Blue hot line next to John Swofford’s chair or whether he had CBS Master Control on his cell phone speed dial is pure speculation. But, I sincerely believe that the ACC HQ does have a direct line to the production control room (the remote set-up) and that any “objectionable” comments or info can be immediately refuted and “handled”. UNC probably does get preferential treatment….DUH….even Larry the Hat says that John pulls for UNC.

However, the ACC HQ, is a business also and it has vested interests in maintaining the value of it’s product.

Marv and Greg reversed their field so quickly and had some MANY “facts” that were seemingly no available to them in the first segment that one has to speculate that the ACC guru’s were spouting them so that the producer was pouring them into Marv and Greg’s head.

After my little “time stamp” and comments searches last night, I now know that I was NOT hallucinating….and it probably happened as I speculated.

There appears to be no early fallout this AM….so folks that watched UNC get thumped are focusing more on Coach’s Bull $hit comment on LIVE Radio rather than how he was convicted in one segment and exonerated and give a “hero medal” in the other.

This appears to have little traction….but it does show the interworkings of the ACC….

    Misc musings & observations.

Did NOT know about Lacey’s ankle. Watched him on the bench. He never got into the “spirit” of the game until late. Still sulking that Gott would not let him play. BUT, he did come around. Really cheering on the “scout squad”. He did not want Cat and Turner to get more stats….Seriously, he is a competitor and wanted to play.

Reynolds was LOUD….not as loud as it has been, but it still makes my ears rings and I am about as deaf as the proverbial door nail. It was really cool to watch the team….especially since the game was “Realistically” over at 2:15 minutes into the first half. Stat sheet waited until the 11:37 mark in the 2nd half.

Gott commented that when they “reduce” the seat to around or under 5k, then the Men MIGHT not be able (or allowed) to play there again.

SO, let the word go forth from this day throughout the land…..Sunday MAY be the LAST game for the Men in Reynolds. I will be there….hope others will.

Des looked good tonight. We actually had our Sr.; Soph;. and 3 Frosh lineup out there for several minutes….

Team really looked like a team. Caleb looked comfortable at the point….assuming that was his assignment. He and Turner look like the product of the Whittenburg “Pass, rather than Shoot” school.

Gott VERY upbeat in the radio interview….

Interesting…..and the “level of understanding” of the TOP COMMENTORS in the N&O article are, well, hilarious.

As far as what may be done and who is calling the shots. Galeforce is not exactly what I would classify as “leading edge”. The Lenovo Champion’s club was “revamped”. In that they moved around tables and swapped spaces with the sofa’s. OK….My wife understands that.

BUT, someone had the unique and clever idea….remove one of the TWO drink stations. Put in a stone wall and then a large LCD TV. BUT, the TV is like a large poster. It is probably 10 ft wide and 2 ft high. Don’t know about the Canes folk that come in there….but it is actually “billed” as a cozy atmosphere….cozy in that the LCD monitor (one on each side) has FAKE flames. It is an elevated fire place or faux pas FIRE. I guess you could use fake fish and folks would think it was an aquarium.

BUT, from a practical standpoint….there are TWO buffet lines….one of each side. SO, they took out the Pizza side drink station….now there is always a line at the Hot Entre line….

Folks asked nicely. Folks then complained nicely. Folks FINALLY got heard….so a Drink Station will be added back in.

I hope that this example is NOT HOW this multi-million dollar expansion will be handled.

Rumor on the street is that there is a low ball offer for the Canes…..city unknown to my lowly sources. And that is the ONLY offer on the table. Gale Force had to pull out all the stops to bring in “shows” last year to cover the lost revenue from POOR hockey attendance. And you think that WE have attendance issues…..

The keyboard bangers that get paid for such are already writing pieces on how the new Canes Coach will have to struggle just even SAVE this season and that the handwriting is on the wall…..no playoff’s again….

PK might just take the low ball $$ and run. It would be the Jim Goodnights and Jim Goodmon that invested heavily into the franchise to keep it afloat a few years ago that would be really hurt….maybe recoup 20 – 40% of their investment.
