I’m hearing there may be some academic issues with Hughes and that’s why he didn’t enroll early. I have also heard our staff has moved off him. Unsure of the reliability of these reports though.
Yea 99.9% done with Hughes. He’s always had academic issues but I’m wondering if UNC is being a little less lenient with those now.
Also to mention. Evan Kelley a All-Conference DT from Richmond is rumored to be transferring to NC State. He would have 1 year to play 1 and has been very productive in the CAA.
Quick question and I used to know how this works, but how does the early enrolled players effect the number of scholarships this year and next. How many scholarships do we have for this year and what is our tentative number for next year?
The number of scholarships is hard to predict with transfers and walk-ons getting scholarships etc.
If players enroll early they can but dont have to count towards the previous class.
That was a tough one. I’ll own it. All signs were pointing to NC State. This is a complete shock to everyone. I’m not sure how a team that doesnt even have a DC lands top talent like that especially when he took his OV during our 35-7 ass whipping.
You’re right that Hines is the slot guy and would be used a lot like Dayes was used this year. Fraiser by all accounts is raw and not ready for RB snaps as a freshman as Gallaspy would be.
Pack16 is loaded with running backs in this state as well. Robert Washington & Kennedy Mckoy are guys that are high on State and highly rated 4 & 3 stars respectively. Then you add a guy like Moe Neal who just came out and said he loved everything about NC State and WOW. loaded. Neal is more of a WR in college FWIW.

It is about time someone said something. I only watch ESPN when there is a game on. The rest of the talking heads on TV are just sheep w/o any real opinions.
ECU is fairly well stacked at RB with Mangus transferring from VT there this year. Of course they would always find room for a guy of this talent.
By all accounts from the folks who know, this will not happen and coaches are pushing him to ECU. Scott wants to be close to home (and his girlfriend). ECU or even Wake Forest would be a good fit. It is really hard to imagine NC State having so much talent on the hook that there isn’t room for a 4-star RB such as Derrell Scott but that is the case at the moment.
That is a good point. With another improving year next year DD & Co will be a hot target. Sort of flew under the radar for coaches mentioned ‘turning around programs’ which is strange b/c guys he beat got more attention. I dont think that will last long.
Parham is more of a pocket QB that can run. He’s a very good athlete but also very raw at the QB position.
Wisc -4 vs Ohio St – Wisconsin wins big
GTech +4.5 vs FSU – FSU makes too many mistakes, that doesn’t fly vs GaTech
Bama -14.5 vs Mizzou – I really wanted to pick Mizzou but if NC State wants the Belk Bowl, we are all Bama fans this weekend
TCU -34 vs Iowa St – TCU is good. Iowa St is not.
Kstate +7.5 vs Baylor – K-State ends all the Baylor #4 discussionPlayoff should be.
Oregon, FSU, Bama, TCU.UNC -8 vs NC State – I just think this is a terrible matchup for us. It might be painful to watch.
Oregon St +20 vs Oregon – the Civil War is almost always closer than the line and with Oregon St being at home, give me the 20.
Auburn +9.5 vs Bama- Iron Bowl is another one that usually comes down to something ridiculous and usually closer than 9.5. I think Auburn will win outright.
Ole Miss +2 vs Miss St- I’m not sold on Miss St. and I want all the SEC teams to have at least 2 losses to mess with the committee.
Kentucky +13.5 vs LVille – Lville will win but giving up 13 in a rivalry game? Cards win, Cats will keep it close-ish.
While I did think Underwood would have been more involved in the jet-sweep / reverse game this year, people are dogging the coaches for his lack of catches. To be honest it might be on Jacoby. Underwood’s real asset is his speed downfield and Jacoby struggles with the deep ball. Overall a bad combo for Bryan.
The matchups this week are terribly uninteresting.
VaTech -15 vs Wake – Wake is one of the worst offenses I’ve ever seen even a terrible VaTech team should beat them by more than two TDs
UNC +6 at Duke – Duke being favored by 6 tonight is ridiculous. UNC’s offense will give them fits and unfortunately they will win. For the record I want both teams to lose.
Mizzou +3.5 at Tenn.
ECU -18 vs Tulane
UCLA -3.5 vs USC
Cincy -2.5 vs ECU – Tough matchup for the Pirates. O/U should be set around 130pts.
Wake +14.5 vs NC State – We should win but knowing us we will keep it close.
VaTech +5.5 @ Duke – I pick Duke to lose every week b/c they use a piss poor schedule and then claim they are great, one of these weeks the ball will stop bouncing their way.
FSU -1.5 @ Miami – this game has moved to Miami +2.5 at Bovada, got to take the Noles here but could easily see them losing.
Az St -9.5 @ oregon st – Sun Devils are good and score more than their hoops team regularly. Hi Herb!
GaTech – 5 at NC State – I just can’t pick NC State to cover anymore, I’m bad luck.
Mich St -3.5 vs Ohio St
Utah +9 vs Oregon – Historically Oregon loses a late one but they made it past their usually speedbump, Stanford, Utah presents an interesting challenge. They should win but Utah might keep it close at home and at night.
UGA -10 vs Kentucky
TCU -6 vs K-State – Kansas State is pretty good but TCU might be the real deal and they are at home. Huge Game.
My excuse for my poor record is picking the tough games. The rest of you go for the easy ones!
Oregon -9 vs Stanford – The Cardinal monkey finally gets off the Duck’s back.
Vandy -7 vs ODU – I said it after our ODU game, they are gonna beat Vandy.
ECU -7 @ Temple – my ECU friends are worried about this game for some reason. I’d like to see the Pirates finally get that L they’ve been asking for the last few days.
Auburn + 2 @ Ole Miss – Could Ole Miss be in for a hangover-game? I think so
Cuse -3.5 vs NC State – I pick NC State pretty much every week. I’m sorry Wolfpack Nation. Switching it up this week.

Bama -17 vs Tenn
Wisc -11 vs Maryland
ECU -27.5 vs UCONN
