Based on this, UNC should expect the death penalty. Unless, in the NCAAs eyes, drug use is not to be tolerated “From 2001 to early 2009, the school did not follow its own written policies and procedures for students who tested positive for banned substances, the NCAA found.” while academic fraud and denying over 1,000 student athletes an education is not so bad.

Not going to work apparently. The first link was to a short story on Fox News in Charlotte and the second to a longer story in the N&O today.

12 point run in two minutes is doable – we’ll help.

Barber seems to have figured it out. Would like to see more drives to the basket. Abu and Freeman are really hustling tonight.

Blog more entertaining than this game. Thanks.

Lacey looks pretty relaxed out there as he turns the ball over.

The bench doesn’t seem to be concerned about the outcome. No sense of urgency on or off the court.

If it helps communicate to the players the kind of work ethic the coach is looking to instill than who am I to argue with it. Go Pack.

Interesting take on this. I’m not into the social media thing so this appeal doesn’t impact me one way or another. I do think seniors should start and I’m sure Coach will do the right thing regardless of the tweets. If anything, I guess this serves a useful purpose in generating more internet buzz about the program. Companies have figured that out some time ago.

I think for me, the positive is limited to the time when the five subs came in. They played with an intensity I wish I had seen in our starters. They had some limited success in closing the gap in score and I would have been fine leaving them in.

I have a real love-hate relationship with this team. On an individual level, all our players are great guys and easy to love. However, their inconsistency is maddening and I hate to watch them when they make boneheaded low IQ plays (and I’m not just talking about the freshmen) and end up giving away games that had just about won.

We do look like posers. I don’t to see us celebrate another game until is comes with a banner.

I’d much rather we were playing Arizona instead. I don’t even want to have to look at HWSNBN. He can stay out in the Desert for ever as long as I’m concerned. Bad memories should be left alone and that’s about as nice as I can put it.

I saw this game and was very impressed with the women’s team. They were very cool under pressure and took care of business.

Question for Wes: Can you please loan Mark your players for a few FT shooting sessions?

I’m ok with this loss except that I know we could have won if we had mentally stayed in the game for 40 minutes. Regarding the fan who pushed Cat, where is King Karl when you need him. He could have ejected him retro actively or failing that put him on double secret probation.

Just got done watching the game on DVR. Great team win today. We improved on just about every aspect of the game except for the free throws. I thought for sure we were going to blow the win in the last two minutes but was very pleasantly surprised when we not only held on but seemed to turn up the defensive intensity. Great day for the Pack Nation. Congrats to all the players, coaches and fans in attendance. Now for the Cheats.

Been traveling a lot for work the last couple of years and haven’t had time to post much though I have been reading the blog. This however deserves a post. I haven’t been so happy about a firing since Fowler left. The first thing that popped into my head was the Witch is dead song from the Wizard of Oz. Hopefully this will impact the behavior of the remaining refs in a positive way.

I always hope for the best and mentally prepare for the worst. Does that make me a bad fan? How far removed we are from the days when you could go to a game (in any revenue sport) with a reasonable expection of winning at home at it being a toss up on the road. Point of reference – my wife and I graduated in 1981. Now that we’re getting to the point in life when we have a few extra bucks to spend (and more time soon I hope), I’d love to spend them seeing our team but I need to see some progress. Otherwise, we’ll continue to support from our couch. Appathy builds gradually over time and is a very hard thing to turn around. Counting on you Dave to bring back the excitement. Go Pack.

Thanks for the link. This was a real indepth review and seemed pretty balanced. It was painful though reading about our past.

If he had just ripped off crab legs instead of gas he would have been ok. In all seriousness, this is a sad situation. Don’t know the particulars but I hope Chris can get himself straightened out.

All I can say is, I’m glad I’m not invested in season tickets. I would like to attend some home games this year but I can see that it’s not going to be worth the 4.5 hour trip to Raleigh. TV will have to do.

^ That is hilarious. Kudos to Sir Charles. That’s what they deserve, to be a punchline to a joke and until the administration, professors and alumni get tired of it and clean up their act, that’s all they’ll ever be. It’s a simple process: 1) Conduct a real investigation, 2) Publish the results, 3) Implement reuired changes, 4) Accountability for those responsible

I will miss Tyler Lewis and wish him well. I thought he was one of the players who improved most over the course of the season and was looking to see him play more next year. Not sure how to feel about his transfer though. I’m hoping it is just a matter of playing time and not something else. Thanks Tyler for wearing the red and white. Best of luck to you.

I was able to catch the last two innings, first game I’ve been able to watch this season. I’m no baseball expert but I wonder, why do we never try to bunt the runner on third home with only one out? I noticed several instances last year where we went for the Sac fly and weren’t able to deliver (like today).
