I reckon the little PFN experiment will continue for now since it’s slowly gaining traction. I aim to keep the topics fresh over there and this community is welcome to come and help shape it. Best of all we can make it our site.. I’m open to feedback and suggestions.
Summer doldrums, sure I get it, but this summer is about the worst I’ve seen it. This community seems to be dying and has quite obviously been neglected by the owners. That assertion would seem to be bolstered by the fact that while SFN was down for two weeks due to a “glitch”, it appeared the SFN owners hadn’t even realize it until a full week went by & were asked about it on the Twitters.
That being said, there’s definitely still a general interest in this specific community as I’ve seen quite a few of the regulars sign up over at PFN (including a few SFN moderators). The problem now is lack of participation. For now I’m trying to drive that content creation aspect (i.e. new topics) over at PFN to start generating some participation and I’m starting to see some traction. At the end of the day, the PFN software is head and shoulders above SFN while still maintaining that de-cluttered and simplistic look and feel. It’s also easy to use and has an owner who cares about keeping the community afloat and the site running smoothly.
And let me say having SFN members switch over to Packpride, or 247, or whatever it is these days, sounds like an awful idea. Perhaps I’m biased, but the SFN users seem to post (when they do post) much higher quality content within the discussions than over at PP.
Probably a little more than a glitch right? Two whole weeks? lol I figured the servers caught fire and melted or something.

Umm like two weeks? I actually setup a new forum during the downtime at PackFansNation.com. This place been a bit neglected.
if kickoffs are a safety issue (and they are) my choice would be to eliminate them.
If you eliminate kickoffs altogether that would also remove onside kicks opportunities. Removing that element of the game seems bad for the game on the surface. (remove tool for teams to come back at end of game as well as excitement of the surprise onside kick).

I use Roku 3.. so this is specific to Roku.. but during the game you hit the ‘*’ key on the remote which brings up settings and you can scroll down to audio settings and change it. Also lets you optionally listen to radio announcers instead of TV guys.
Any of you folks got the MLB package? I figured a way yesterday to turn off the announcers completely so you only hear the game noises.
It’s blissful.

Most people start paying attention around the time the CWS rolls around.. and admittedly in years past you could count me in that group.. but #2 in the nation causing me to do a double take this season.
I agree CD but I still don’t how this makes a difference in player safety.
Well surely it will reduce even further the amount of kick returns. Kick returns being one of the more prone to dangerous big collisions I think it should help.. to what degree is certainly arguable.
How long until kickoffs are eliminated unless other team requests to attempt onside kick?

DD can be criticized for losing to ranked teams or not enough overall wins, but instilling a culture of hard work, accountability, and responsibility in order to win will likely be his legacy and probably his biggest achievement.
