ParticipantAnd just like that, the Cards lose Martinez for the rest of the season.

ParticipantNicely done TW. I like the packed house in the background. Oh wait….

ParticipantDoes the block S impression left all over the UNC football players bodies from last season’s beat-down qualify as a monogram?
I think that would be more of a tattoo.

Participant^That’s going to leave a mark.

ParticipantAlpha, without even reading the article, I’ll guess that the actual number of high schoolers becoming pros is more like 0.001%

ParticipantConsidering that I can’t see the game, at least the score looks more like it.

ParticipantThe ACL and the Adidas connection. There’s no other reason 😉

ParticipantThis staff is starting to stack classes and that’s the key.
I agree. DSJ and hopefully Bam could be the tipping point we’ve been waiting for.

ParticipantNation’s Top Point Guard Picks Pack!
Yes he did.
“State is an underdog in the ACC and at times in the state of North Carolina — I want to try and help them win a championship, and I believe we can do it.”
Love it.

ParticipantI like it. The last thing we need to do is start counting our chickens and take these two CRUCIAL young men for granted. Good to hear MG is too smart for that.
I was thinking along the same lines. All seems to be going according to plan, but it’s a fine line between smothering a recruit and “We good? Alright, I need to get some work done. See you in 2016.” And as we’ve all seen, it’s not over til it’s over.

ParticipantI’m with C’dog on the probation for the team. Fair warning for the rest of the season.
Perhaps the two numb nuts acted on their own, but it does seem that they might have been directed to do it by an “adult”. The father of one of them had some cryptic comment about the video being “misconceived”. Hmmmm. The hits were certainly premeditated.

ParticipantHaven’t been able to see of hear any of this game. Someone enlighten me why Troy has 14 points on the Pack.

ParticipantLive DJ? Contests? I go to a lot of hockey games up here, and they have exactly that. I find that such “in game” distractions take away from the action. They play songs at every available stoppage, right up to the puck drop. Don’t get me wrong, I’m good with songs/music that adds to the game, something to rile up the crowd, etc. But typically the selection is something popular that has no relevance to the contest at hand.
They play the games during longer stoppages. I’m fine with between period stuff, whatever. But hell, if you need “entertainment” during the freaking game, you’ve got issues.
Get off my lawn!

ParticipantThis sucks. I hope he gets the help that he needs. I always pulled for Erik.
I just heard Jim McMahon on Dan Patrick and he sounded way better than he had before. He said that doctors had figured out what was going on with his head and have been able to deal with it effectively. I don’t know if EK’s situation is similar, but maybe with the spotlight on head injuries he will be able to get better.

ParticipantI saw that. I think 7 is showing respect while acknowledging the unknown. And it is way too early.

ParticipantI think this kid is going to inspire his own nickname. It certainly remains to be seen how his game translates to a bigger stage. But I like what I see so far.

Participant^ Haha. That tangentially reminds me of a MASH episode when Klinger – once again – tries to get out of the Army… Wish I could have found the clip.
Just replace the relative’s names with State players, and “dying” and “pregnant” with “hurt”, “transferring” or “going pro”. And “in the Army” with “an NC State fan”.
Henry: (leafing through the other letters) Father dying last year. Mother dying last year. Mother and father dying. Mother, father, and older sister dying. Mother dying and older sister pregnant. Older sister dying and mother pregnant. Younger sister pregnant and older sister dying. Here’s an oldie but goodie: half of the family dying, other half pregnant.(puts down the letters) Klinger, aren’t you ashamed of yourself?
Klinger: Yes, sir. I don’t deserve to be in the Army!MrPlywood

ParticipantI read the recruiting story a week or so ago, and – since I have zero info or intuition in these matters – I left it there 🙂 But dare to dream, they do sound like the real deal.

ParticipantThe Cards hammered Carlos. I was at odds with this game. I’d have OK with a Rodon win since the Cards have games to spare 😉

ParticipantDunne and Oosthuizen are the final group. Day will play with Spieth in the penultimate group. Very interesting mix of talent – chance for the first amateur to win since Bobby Jones, chance for Day to get his first major, chance for Spieth to go 3 for 3 this year, and for Oost to get Open #2. Looks like a great day for fans.
