I would say we are on the bubble right now. We were only 7 spots away from “in” before the FSU game.

The key to our last 10 games will be to hold serve at home and to beat the bottom half teams on the road. If we do that I think there’s a great chance we’ll have a strong enough RPI to get an at-large bid.

I think so. I love tj’s game it is so efficient. Washington has a great cockiness to him. This is the team I was hoping for this year. These guys are getting tougher and tougher. Hopefully cat keeps his confidence.

Team is deep and has more athletes than any team we have had in a while

Not a big NBA fan – but lebron and Durant put on a show tonight.

Hell bjd – look at kyle Washington.

Great game. Tyler played the point awesome tonight. Warren has to play smarter with 4 fouls.

Great job by the staff tonight. Scrappy win for this squad…and guess what…welcome to the bubble nc state!

Va wolf – I suspect you are right. At present, we look like a 7-11 or 8-10 team. it will be interesting to see how we fare against FSU.

One thing is certain, we have to shoot really well to have a shot because our opponent will get plenty of 2nd chances.

Bjd – his offense-defense substitutions don’t always make sense to me. I thought it was a bad move to take vandy out on Wake’s last possession too.

Go wolves – you that combo (more points in paint yet being out rebounded) almost every game we play vs. Decent rebounding team.

If we rebounded better we would have enjoyed basketball a lot more this season and last.

I will take the win….nc state may test the RPI formula. Right now, we have a very good RPI for whom we have beaten. We have been destroyed by good teams while eaking out a lot of victories. As a result, our kenpom and sagarin suck.

Glad to see us win, especially glad to see t. Lewis play so well.

ILpackfan – to give you an idea our 12 game schedule breaks down as follows:
3 opponents with NCAA qualifying rpis
    4 games vs bubble teams (2 UNC, 1 wake, 1 @ Clemson
5 games vs no chance teams (2 Miami, at vatech, gstech and BC)

The worst we could do from an rpi standpoint and from a quality of victories standpoint would be to beat the bubble teams @ home and sweep the bums…..even if we did that I think we would still have a decent RPI and I think 2 tourney wins would put us right on that bubble

We probably won’t get a chance to test that theory.

Based on where we are now, I think a record of 10-8 would give us an RPI better than 50 (we would have gone 8-4 against decent competition.)

Even if we are 9-9 I suspect we enter the account tourney solidly on the bubble with a likelihood of getting in if we win 2 games against OK competition…. translation: if we win 9 games in our next 13-14 we go dancing because our RPI should be low 50s high 40s.

Turner’s shortcomings wouldn’t be so obvious on a complete team.

Also turner shouldn’t be a bad defender… in last year’s intra squad game he had a great defensive stance. Speaking of which it will be very interesting and telling to watch cat’s defensive skills.

Very proud of team for not quitting and staff for a good motivation job last night.

Great fight in guys tonight. I really think we have good guys and they play hard and try to do what is demanded of them.

Hopefully we turn a corner tonight.

Wow. We have 10 scholarship players and only 1 can shoot a 3…don’t worry, we have absolutely no help coming in this area next year either

Really impressed by uva. They played hard even when up by 20. No wonder they beat us by 30. Low IQ ball vs. High IQ ball.

Tmd – we lose tj next year and will likely lose some of our experienced players to transfer as well. I am thinking next year will be just as bad as this year.

Surprised no one has brought up the decision to sub out vandy for Wake’s last play…sure would have been nice to have him guarding the rim for that shot.

And I don’t blame that last play on cat. He is a freshman, he went for a steal…hell, I seriously doubt he was coached to do much else than what he did.

Gott is a great recruiter, good offensive coach and overall a solid coach, but this is the acc and “good” may not be enough.

Still, he has earned at least another season regardless of what happens his year (for on court performance).

If we are going to win playing gott ball we have to be excellent offensively because we don’t defend well enough to beat decent teams.

Pack family – I hope that is a rhetorical question… its not a chicken or egg thing…we are a bad team defensively, lousy fundamentals and lack of prep.

In basketball we do OK in Winston. We even beat them @ wake the year we were a 3 seed and they won regular season conference title.

We won there at least once during Sidney era and won there gott’s first year.

That said, I suspect we will lose this year.

    Finally ESPN acts.

There are a lot of local journalists and “leaders” in this state who had a chance to show some integrity and blew it. Thank you Dan kane and jay smith and Mary willingham and even Bob Lee…as for everyone in leadership positions at our fine school with exception to tob, shame on you.
