Here’s a novel idea. How about not running at the jump shooter behind the 3 point line! Two games in a row not playing basic defense. Can I retract my two week old endorsement of this coach or is it too soon!

This my formal apology for being on the “Archie + Wichita State” team. 3 wins against top 10 teams was an impossible expectation for this team. I would have bet the house against this success, just another reason why I don’t gamble. Congratulations to this team and coach. Go Pack!

21 out of 22 on early signing day. Will have to give credit to DD and his staff. I thought that 1 or 2 of Payton Wilson’s teammates were targets? Would take Palmer, if he wants to come to state. Corners can become safeties, safeties can become linebackers. Can’t teach speed or size.

Rye, going o have to give you a “whoa nelly” on OC bible. You have forgotten all of 3rd and 8 draw plays! Followed by a 4h down punt! Thought wins and losses were how you judged a coach, not players in the pros!

Hope Yow has talked to Kevin Sumlin’s agent. One deal breaker, has to give up the damn visor. Standard hat or no deal!

I don’t care if he goes, but he takes recruits with him. DD has recruited and developed a team that can compete with Clemson, FSU and Notre Dame. DD in game decisions make me shake my head, but he gets paid for his opinion, I don’t. Based on our financial situation, this may be our best. We do not have 5 million to pay a big name coach. I want to drive a Porsche, but I don’t have the money. That means I purchase a Ford and go to work trying to earn the money for the Porsche. We need to earn the reputation to be able to afford better. Not to be a “butthead”, we are not there yet.

I will join BOTB and others! Yes I hate to loose. However I did not play in one game this year, therefore the outcome is outside my control. I will rant a rave about bad calls. Rant about plays the defy logic. However this team won 8 games. Yes I wanted to beat Clemson, two years in a row this coach and team were 1 to 2 plays from victory. Zero wins in the conference 5 years ago, 6 this year. Progress yes. Where we want to be, no!

Big picture, we are not going to out recruit Clemson. DD will have the deck stacked against him recruiting against the Cheats. They will be giving away cars and term papers like candy. So, enjoy this weekend and this year.

Texpacknwrote: From the conspiracy department, there were no highlights of our game shown on College Football Final. The UW RB got a helmet sticker for 190 yards rushing. Needless to say, no mention of Hines. Boise – Fresno had highlights, Vandy – Tennessee, Purdue – IU got minutes but not State vs the Cheaters. You be the judge.

No helmet sticker, no video of Hines! As if this game never happened! Cheaters infection is everywhere!

As I said earlier, going to Winston Ranked and favorite, causes our quarterbacks some kind on mind meltdown. Finley got away with at least 2 other questionable passes. Now with that said, if we are to believe that we have 1-2 first round NFL picks, along with several 2,3,4 round picks, believe that our talent exceeds that of Wake. Then how do you justify this loss? Was it “just a bad game”? Was/Is the Wake staff better than our staff? Is Wake coach a better motivator? Was a freshman the best player to put on wake’s Hines? Same point different team, who was on Renfrow on key 3rd downs? How many sacks did we get against Wake. This year 5 of the DD express, I’m seeing some of the same problems from 5 years ago, 10 years ago, 15 years ago, 20 years ago! Is next year the year we win the division? An intelligent man, based on last night, would say be prepared for more disappointment!

Finley threw behind the first down with no time outs. My High quarterback knows better than that!

Got the ball with 7 min. No don’t score fast. Defense was playing well. Best to go slow and fumble at the one. Coaching matters.

Thank goodness they picked Wake as favorite. Going to Wake as favorite, on TV, recipe for disaster. Russel Wilson!

This may be the best article written on this subject. You voiced what so many feel. Have shared this for all to read and for UNX fans we should provide a “hooks on tape” copy! The hypocrisy of the Carolina Way will be available for all to see!

This was the right thing to do for our “Flagship Univ. The NC House, Senate, and “Gun-net” will not stand for this anymore! We must have NCAA regional basketball in NC. Safety be dammed!

Believe the Millers have misread the IU job! Speaking for myself, split with big four, finish in top half of ACC is minimum. Get team to sweet 16 every 3-4 years. I’ll consider this coach a success! Conference championship or tournament champ, will probably get a statue commission!

Not sure IU will settle for this!

Jeremy H you ask the million dollar question. I don’t have answer yet, gut tells me we don’t have 6 mill to spend! Or we were not willing to risk on this pool of candidates. We should know Marshall/Millers number soon!

Wade off table to LSU, 3-4 mill????

I’m not a safe hire either.

I’d have taken the job for 400 k, thrown pig pickings all over the state, burned K and huckleberry in effigy, and moved the team back to Reynolds.

Might not have won much but it would have been fun and not safe. We would play defense until the blood flowed, I can promise you that.

    McCallum

I would gave been your assistant. 15 players, 4 fouls each, 60 fouls per game(bring the pain)! We would run so much the games would feel like a week of vacation!

Search team should have asked about salary, along with interest in job! Marshall is probably 5-6 million, Miller and wade 3-4 million. Just don’t think we could make the numbers work. DY and Wolfpack club had to factor cost.

I would have paid the 6mill to get Marshall.

    AlBunde…

I guess your leaked copy of the Consultant’s list had Greg on it with some “salary requirements”.

    Mine DID NOT.

Don’t know what Gregg might want (or get), but it would only have been a modest ticket price increase and similar concessions increase to get him and also bump up the Assistant’s salaries.

Personally think he either quoted a high number (over $5KK) or said NO THANKS….

His wife would have been a great sideline edition. Wonder how long the ACC Ref’s would have put up with HER?

my conversation with WC board member, was over confirmation of Keatts hire. He indicated he and others had gone to UNCW to watch coach. Then they began process to lobby others. Based on speed of action, they had already eliminated many of the recommendations from the search process.

Based on parts of conversation, money was a factor. Without getting list, the names I threw out
Wade because he had already beat Gott for recruits. He was still confident Keatts was best!

Was higher on my first three because they recruited talent that could have played in ACC. Marshall/miller could have brought stronger staff with them.
