Bilas said at the Duke / UNC game that he didn’t think there would be an ACC POY that didn’t lead his team to the NCAA

Bilas can suck a butt, and the Wooden Finalists can suck on TJ’s second straight 40+ game and 13 boards.

It would be so nice to have a program where these sorts of things are not so common. It gets so old discussing disappointment on such a regular basis. One day… One day.

I saw Bennett’s presser on SportCenter last night after winning the ACC. He spoke of the importance of defense and the rebuilding task he and his recruits embraced when he took the reigns at UVA. It took Bennett five years. We’re in year 3. I’m not saying that Gott is preaching the same things to his guys, but I don’t think we’re in a position to definitively state that he is not. Give him a couple more years. I love Washington and Anya.

This is a completely different team Rick, and TJ Warren is no Lo Brown or CJ Leslie.

The headline for this game should read:

Marcus Paige vs. TJ Warren in Epic Battle of ACC Foes

    The sub-headline should read:

Whoever had the ball last was going to win it for their team; it happened to be Marcus Paige.

    That’s that.

As mad as we all are, just think about how amazing we will be next if TJ stays. That would be pretty killer. Our freshmen have really improved. Anya is going to be a beast after an offseason of conditioning.

Can anyone remember a time that State made a last second shot to win, as opposed to allowing a last second shot to lose, in the last 5 years? I remember one against some crappy New Orleans team or some such a couple of years ago. CJ caught a floor length bomb and put it in for the W. Other than that, all I remember are the wins other teams have snatched away from us. It would be so nice to be the team that does that. Maybe one day, we’ll get there.

Re closing out games: It seems like we should play to have the ball last, which we did correctly tonight until the no-call foul on TJ that was called a turnover. In that regard, they did get screwed, but in that situation, I’m not sure that gets called against either team in this or most other games.

We can never seem to play defense in the final few seconds. Teams always blow right down court because they know we’re going to play soft D (State can’t really play any other kind without fouling).

In the end, even if TJ had made both free throws, I would bet a lot of money that Paige would bury a 3 to end it, rather than a drive to basket to end it. It was inevitable. In the battle between TJ and Paige, whoever had the ball last was going to win it for their team.

Oh well. Did anyone think anything else would happen? You have to give it to Paige. Hell of a final 25 minutes for the young man. TJ is incredible, and State played a hell of a game.

Please don’t turn this into a reffing thing in the meltdown, people. TJ was on the line for 2 with 7 seconds left. He makes them both and we’re in double OT.

They look terrible with Lee and Barber on the floor at the same time. They’ve both regressed.

Cuse just lost to BC at home. Wow.

Ipso facto, State is worse than BC. Fire everyone!

Combined with their 2 wins over VT, this makes BC a lock.

So a loss to a good defensive Clemson team in a game that 99% thought we would lose, 72 hours and 850 some odd miles after a heartbreaking loss to the #1 team in the nation, warrants the firing of the coach and AD? Y’all are nuts.

Shouldn’t have sat, TJ. He was on a roll offensively and defensively. So what if he picked up his third with 8 to play? You can’t sit him. That was the ball game, unless anyone has anymore curses or other tricks up their sleeves like someone broke out at the end of the first half.

This isn’t going to do it. TJ has to get back in there. When he has 4, it’s time to worry. With 3, get him in!

Take over, TJ! Just give him the ball and let him do that thang.

TJ Warren stars in his first feature film… UNFOULABLE.

“I got married too, and she told me I was an argumentative, stubborn, know it all, and it needed to stop.”

Were the nuptials contingent on that transformation? :)

More like waking up in the morning was contingent on the transformation 😉

Don’t take this wrong WeAreCured…but since you began writing again, there is a very mature float about it.

    In such a short time.

Being an attorney for a couple of years will do that to a man, I suppose. You see people go through some difficult things. It adds perspective. I got married too, and she told me I was an argumentative, stubborn, know it all, and it needed to stop. A swift kick in the behind by a beautiful woman is very efficient.

Hey, if you guys want to go play at Nebraska, and Iowa, and Northwestern, and Minnesota, by all means go. But I’ll stay here. It’s going to be a lot of fun.

    Seconded.

No, there isn’t. But often times they let it go. Just depends on the ref.

To me, it’s a shame when some get the special treatment in which a ref would incorrectly make the decision to call something a continuation. It is not a shame when they do not make the decision to call something a continuation, as that is the rule.

Similarly, it is a shame when some get special treatment and get minor criminal offenses dropped, not when others are not given special treatment.

There is no continuation in the NCAA, though, correct?
