We are a lot closer than we should be. The offense is really stagnant so far. Cards are picking up the dribble penetration and we aren’t getting any open threes off of it.

He’s fortunate to get that, given how badly this season has gone. But he really should get credit for doing some good to very good work the first three seasons. I will be fair. But I am very, VERY worried now.
I think it’s fair as well. I’m just baffled at the lack of progress from the big guys. You can’t look at the progress this staff made with Howell and Calvin and conclude that they flat can’t develop big guys. They clearly know something. I also don’t think this is an enormously talented group by ACC standards, but I have always maintained that talent level is the most important part of a college coach’s job duties. It will cover up a lot of shortcomings in other areas.
I couldn’t bring myself to watch last night. Flight delayed almost two hours coming home so the last thing I needed was to get pissed by the inevitable. I saw the halftime score and then the final score. This team is one of those that just figures out a way to lose almost every night out. Some teams are like that.
Fairly or unfairly, next year will be a referendum year on Gott.
I remember wearing a coat and tie to the 1968 ACC Tournament Finals(I was 7). We lost to the Cheats in Charlotte. We did, however, boo Larry Miller when he received the Everett Case Award.
I think KW PLAYS more in losses because Gott is searching for points. At the risk of being labelled a whiner again, I wonder if KW’s minutes are higher in our losses.
The opponent 3 point percentage difference is huge. When you combine that with the shot block stats, it suggests that teams are going inside out on us a lot to drive up the 3 pt percentage.

What to expect? Two or three more wins. This team has results similar to a random number generator. Sometimes even within games. Really discouraging season.
Thanks to everyone who has the energy to compile all of the recruiting information. It’s greatly appreciated.
The way my brain works, I would post a list of out anticipated commits(with position, stars or whatever else)on signing day with a column to be filled in as signed or lost to whatever school. Any unexpected commits could be listed at the bottom. I’d update every hour which would be less posting that the individual posts for each signee. Just a suggestion from my feeble mind to the people who are way smarter than me.
Since somebody mentioned Whiners it’s time for some macaroni and cheese.
The really bad thing about this team is that we haven’t improved as the season has progressed. That is one thing that I thinks Gott’s teams have consistently done each season, until now. I was fortunate enough to get to sit through a Citizens Advisory Council meeting last night instead of being able to watch. This season is lost, gone, kaput. The bigs, who I thought would be our cornerstone this season, have been a boat anchor. I’ll be surprised if we can go 8-10 in the league. Sad, just sad.
I have NEVER seen a defender hedge back-to-back ball screens by throwing his hip into the dribbler enough to re-direct him without a foul call. Somebody mentioned last week that Meeks had achieved Psycho T status with the refs. You’ll never make a better case for that than the sequence above.
New GT strategy….let us shoot….ain’t going in and they get the ball back. BJ just stood there doing his BB Mime imitation. Time is running out like the last few grains of sand trickling down the hour glass….
