I just don’t understand what happened to Cat’s scoring ability. Mental block maybe. I though this guy was a major scorer in HS and was supposed to be so in college.

My only beef was why, with approx. 1:30 left in the game and up by 1 and coming out of a TO, did we put the ball in KW’s hands for a tough inside shot. Not knocking the kid but Turner or Lacey should have been taking the last few shots.

3 pt shooting teams always scare me. You never know if they will be on target for any given night. And we all know how excellent the Pack is at defending the 3 pt line. Let’s pray that tonight is not their night.

It really is pretty amazing how quick Neb, UF, Oregon St, and Wisc got their vacancy’s filled. Meanwhile, the biggest fish in the sea left, UofM, and is still on the clock. Plus, let’s see how well Pitt does. I don’t know much about him but I hear the AD don’t have the best rep. And we know how well that plays in a coaching search. Remember when…

I think ECU would be a better fit than Wake. Better fb school with a wide open offense to run with and be thrown to.

The Herb thing to UW is ridiculous.

We all know he is a Pitt guy. Now that Chryst is out he is headed there.

I hope some of those RB’s can play D or catch really well or they will be getting a lot of bench time.

For the worlds to align so perfectly for OSU. For everything to happen just the way, the only way it could have in order for them to make the playoffs. The only other team in America that could happen to would be UNC. Both teams took a blood oath with the devil at some point in their history.

It is odd though. Especially with the coach bailing for Oregon St of all places. But no way it could have been planned. Too many people involved. Did the Wis staff give the OSU staff the game plan? Highly doubtful.

    ^No offense taken at all.

Maybe I’m just too cynical but I never take any coach at their word.

^ I’m with you on that Jack. If we somehow to go crazy and get 10 wins next year. I can see DD gone to a major fb program. Can’t see 10 wins happening though. I feel that State is a stepping stone for DD. No hard feelings here. That’s just how it works. We’re not a big time fb program and likely never will be.

From what I know about Purdue, they are a zone D based team. They’ll feel right at home giving us a fit on offense. In my mind this whole games comes down to how our outside shots are falling. If Lacey, Turner, and Lee (can’t forget twin A) are hitting some 3’s then we’re golden.

We also need Cat to hit some of those crazy 16-18 foot outside jumpers.

I’m a firm believer in just letting the kids get paid in the free market. The schools don’t need to be paying the kids. Just let the kids earn a living off of their “celebrity” status. They should be able to sell their image/likeness to whomever wants to pay for it. It’s their’s after all. If a privite investor wants to give a kid a “job” for the summer then so be it. We all know stuff like this happens anyway so let’s just make it legal under NCAA bylaws.
Plus, if the Uni’s can afford it then give a small living stipend to the players across all teams equally out of a % of the revenue the dept takes in. If the dept loses money then no stipend. It’s like a bonus system in a private workplace. Sure it won’t be fair across the board but the system’s not fair now. Socialism doesn’t work in the free market so why should we expect it to work in the NCAA market.

Kenpom has us at 54 and honestly, at this point, that might be a little more realistic.
Other than the Richmond game, we haven’t looked like a top 25 team. We’ve had some luck in a couple of games where the other team has had some wide open looks but can’t knock down shots.

This could end up being the best finishing team of the Gott era. Lacey is one smooth cat come finishing time.

Maybe I’m overreacting but I’m really worried about the offense. The last 3 halves have been pretty terrible for shooting. Ever since the opponent has really starting pushing a zone D. I’ve seen an incredibly large number of missed shots from within 3 feet. This is where Warren was so vital last year. He roamed the basket area, got those misses, and put them back with incredible accuracy. Hopefully Anya and Abu can do that for us this year. Our D is much better than last year so hopefully the O will catch up.

If all these pieces we’ve seen can come together, this can be a very dangerous team come March.

Our 2015 ranking on Scout was in the 60’s before McGirt commited. He is only our 2nd 4 star recruit. I’m happy about this but still worried. Hopefully we get some momentum going. BTW, the cheaters down the road currently have 7 4* recruits commited.

Dismiss rankings all you want but we all know how TOB’s recruiting rankings went and now we see the final outcome on the field. We don’t have the manpower to competed with top level teams.

Geez man. No way that game should have been that close. FT’s, FT’s, freakin FT’s.
Also, a ton of standing around on offense in the 2nd half. Like last yr, the zone killed our momentum.

But,it’s a win and I’m happy. Congrats guys. Let’s improve and move forward.
