    potentially offensive..

Really? Potentially offensive? Walk up to ANY Native American and call them a Redskin and let me know what they say.

. Politically unpopular speech is exactly the kind of speech the Founding Fathers intended to protect with the First Amendment.

That’s not the argument, though we’re not really arguing, here. We all know that the team has the right to call themselves whatever they want. The point is that the Skins, as a public business, should do what is ethically and morally correct. Just good business practice. They have the Constiutional right to call themselves the Washington Negro’s but I doubt they would do that either. Just because one group of people have a much higher political clout than the other, does that mean that one group of people is more important than the other. I suppose to some yes but to me no.

I suppose I just have more empathy towards the Native American tribes. They got totally screwed over by us Whiteies many times over the years and even to this day it’s ok to make fun of them in movies but god forbid if you make fun of an African American in a movie.

I don’t care how you slice it, the term Redskin is a negative term towards a race of people. No one in their right mind would walk up to a Native American(that they are not good friends with) and say “Hey Redskin, how you doing?”. Just my opinion, but the more Dan Snyder and Co. try to fight this in public and make foolish arguments the more backlash there will be against the skins.

I expect it to take coorporate backlash against him to finally push him to change the name. Plus, think how much freaking money he’ll make off the name change and all the merchandising that goes with it. Just don’t hire the ACC marketing dept to create the logo.

Nothing is going to happen with the academic scandel at UNC. Unless a document falls out of the sky and into the NCAA’s lap that was signed by Roy Williams and states that “I am sending you to this crap class just to get an A and stay eligible” then the NCAA won’t touch this.

I personally would like to get rid of the two divisions all together. I would prefer to either have no divisions with rotating teams you play each year, keep 1 or 2 permanent partners, or 4 divisions and rotate which other divisions you play each year. In both strategies, the two teams with the best record, regardless of divisions, play each other in the conf championship. Or at a minimum, let’s put the triangle teams back together in one division.

There is no best answer to this problem.

^Agreed. I can see the Northwestern, Kentucky, Duke(regardless of last season), and Wake’s of the world getting many offers to play big time schools.

    ^ UNC RPI 34, Duke RPI 80

That is why Duke did not make it in. College baseball relies heavily on RPI for setting the field.

FTIW, State’s RPI 56, Even with an extremely underperforming season, if we could have won a few games in the ACC tournament we may could have snuck in the selection field. But did we deserve to…NO.

I give no blame to Avent for not starting Rodon on short rest. Other than a crappy 3rd inning by our normally top reliever, State’s relief pitching did a great job and was not our issue. It was the multiple innings we had players in scoring position with no or 1 out and still failed to score. Where was the bunting that college baseball loves to do so much?

Regardless of the terrible Turner call, State blew this game with poor run support. A year long trend.

I would pitch Carlos as a reliever in the 8th or 9th to close out the game if its close. Keep his pitch count very low in order to bring him back on Thursday or Friday to start.

Saying that, I’m no baseball expert by far. Very casual fan here.

Nothing wrong with wanting to rant but any post with more than 5 consecutive capital letters should be auto-deleted by the server. If you can’t get your point across with normal typing the just don’t bother to type it.

^That Foose pretty much sums up the last 20 yrs of State Athletics. We stick one of the best D’s we’ve ever had right smack dab inbetween two of the best QB’s State’s ever had but carefully do not let them overlap while making sure those QB’s have some of the worst D’s in the nation.

I agree with several posters on here in that the video is the worst/most embarrassing part. Looks to be produced by a bunch of out-of-touch-with-kids white marketing geniuses.

And this comes from a guy who rides a Harley.

    66,
No, we don’t need these uniforms to stay current with “Alabama,LSU,Florida State,Florida,Ohio State,Michigan,Penn State.Auburn and Tenn”. Those programs have history and don’t need all the gimmickry. If that’s a word.
We need these uniforms to stay current with the Maryland, UNC, UVa, Duke, WF, GT, and Pitt’s of the world. Those are the programs we are competing against. Those are the programs we are battling for recruits. We get the remians of what’s left after the Bama’s, Auburns, FSU, and so forth pick their recruits. That’s the reality of the college fb landscape. Every now and then we’ll steal one but it’s few and far between.
    Do you not agree?

If the kids love it then I love it. That’s what it’s about. Recruiting talent. I’m 39 and I love the new helment patterns but I’m sure there will be plentty of “Get off my lawn” ol’man attitudes towards the new design. Many will argue that black is not an official State color and should not be worn.

I personally don’t care if they wear pink and purple with green polka dots as long as they win games. I can always just listen to the game on the radio if I don’t care to watch them. lol.

Anyone got any good word on how his visit went? I’ve heard surprisingly nothing about this important visit. I refuse to pay PackPride for anything.

I read this twice before I realized I was confusing Torian Graham with Devonte Graham, whom has been much more on our radar lately. I could not figure out why Devonte would choose Houston over KU or State.

^ I haven’t heard the local sports talk guys around Raleigh consider this year a disappointment. Maybe the national know-nothing pricks like Goodman but who gives a crap what he thinks. Granted, I rarely listen to Glenn but I listen to Adam and Joe about everyday on the way home and they were talking up the job Gott had done this year and one of his better years.

Butler is definatley a much, much better program than Charlotte. Charlotte talent would be a big step down from Butler so he would get much more PT. Hard to imagine a 5 star PG playing at Charlotte. Who knows when the last time that’s happened.

I don’t mean this to be a direct knock on Lewis, but how in the heck did he ever get rated 5 star anyway. Other than his exceptional passing skills what did he show in hs and AAU that put him up that high. If you saw him in college you would think strong 3 star PG fit for high mid-major school.

BC hiring Christion = Wellman hiring Buzz. The AD at BC just got lazy in his search for a good coach.

Well, good for WF. I would rather see State get beat by a good WF team in Winston than a scrub team in Winston. Less RPI hit.
