“My family and I would like to thank Dr. (Michael) Crow, Ray Anderson, and the ASU community for allowing us to be Sun Devils. We enjoyed our time here and we are blessed to have made some special friends.

We stand together proud that our players have met the most critical standard we asked of them — to be respectful young men, qualified to earn their way in the world. Along the way, our young men also managed to have some terrific accomplishments on the court, as well. These young men, and our assistant coaches, who helped me find and teach them, are like family to me.

Given all the conversation about recruiting, I would ask that you don’t let your disappointment in me take away from or be a reflection on the talent of the young men that are currently on my team.

Given the progress we made with this relatively new group of players, they proved they are talented enough to win in the Pac-12. They also personify the personal character of the individual student-athlete that reflects so positively on the amazing trajectory Dr. Crow has this great institution traveling.

I wish ASU Basketball and your next head coach nothing but success going forward. It takes a community to win in sports today. Thank you to those who helped me build a community during my time here. It is my hope that you will continue your efforts to build the depth and breadth of that community support and help your next coach reach the expectations we all have for this program.

    Thank you and Go Devils!

Even just considering Chizik spits in the face of the NCAA, the UNC faculty, SACS (I still laugh at this so far paper tiger of nerds – hope they prove me wrong), and the people of NC who have been perpetually deceived by the gangsters running the show over there.

This is just the latest in a long line of jaw-dropping developments in their never ending saga. Amazing.

Not to mention, guys like Elliott Avent likely deserve a big pat on the back and perhaps an apology from us fans. We’ve readily compared him to now known cheater Mike Fox. Avent’s one trip to the CWS is more than Fox’s 6 vacated to zero. Avent has been a coach at State for 16 years and not once has he coached a season when he wasn’t up against Fox and unprecedented cheating at UNC.

Here are the tainted accomplishments of our most direct competition for recruits, exposure and all around advancement on the diamond:

    University of North Carolina
Mike Fox was hired as head coach of the North Carolina Tar Heels baseball team on May 7, 1998, becoming the 24th head baseball coach in the history of the school, and only its third coach since 1947. Through 2007, Carolina has made eight appearances in the NCAA Tournament and posted a 398-176-1 record in Fox’s nine seasons in Chapel Hill. He has led his team to back-to-back 2nd place finishes at the College World Series in 2006 and 2007.

In 2008, Fox again led his team to the College World Series, where they placed 3rd.

In 2008, Fox was named the National Baseball Coach of the year.

Given UNC knocked us out of the 2013 CWS and given the God-awful call on Trea Turner at home plate, Avent has done a pretty extraordinary job of incalculable measure competing against a national cheating powerhouse down the street.

Colin Cowherd said on his radio show that “UNC is taunting the NCAA with its actions.”

I see “taunting” as poking a grizzly bear with a sick.

Check out this website. There’s Deborah Stroman, a professor of exercise science (and once member of the UNC women’s basketball staff) who is named in emails as a provider of independent study/paper classes in a loving embrace with Roy Williams.

Yet Roy didn’t know about the paper classes? Come on, man.

Interesting about Stroman, this website appears to be advertising her for-profit business that makes money off professional athletes, many of which were likely the beneficiary of fake classes at UNC to remain eligible. She also has tight connections with Jan Boxill and Jan’s “Ethics” group per her UNC Faculty website.

You can’t make this stuff up.

I think Rodon’s numbers are indeed down. He’s certainly still pitched well enough to have a substantially better record than he has. I’ve been watching his velocity during the games on the score board and he looks like he’s sitting in the low 90’s. That’s great speed when he has such a crippling slider. However, a scout made a public statement that his numbers are indeed down. I cannot recall exactly where I saw it. Last year several times Carlos’ velocity would actually peak around the 7th or 8th inning. I don’t recall seeing that this year, but admittedly I’ve been substantially more disinterested given how poorly the rest of the team has played.

The younguns are playing their butts off. There should be some fights for playing time the way the young guys delivered this weekend. Perhaps some of the upperclassmen will get off their haunches and start producing in fear of losing some starts. This is exactly what can make a team better. With the class coming in next year (especially if the kid who hit 8 hrs in 8 ABs comes – still questionable) then we’ll have a lot of hope.

    BUT WAIT… there’s more.

This isn’t a WTNY post. We’re similarly situated to where we were about this time last year. If we can finish like we did last year, we can get right back in the mix for a trip to Omaha. It’s a tall order certainly, but it’s there for the taking. Hopefully this huge series win at Clemson, a feat in itself, will propel us to a hot streak like we saw last year.

Get out there and support the boys. They can do this.

Having had the great pleasure of personally speaking to Randy Woodson on several occasions in several different settings, I can tell you that he’s a hell of a (Renaissance) man. He’s exactly what our University needed. He can talk to anyone on their level and he’s personable and sincere.

I’ve said this before but when we hired him I reached out to the Purdue golf coach who was once at Chapel Hill through his son. The assessments of Woodson as a University administrator and leader were something you don’t hear often from anyone critiquing anything: completely 100% positive.

With him at the helm, the golden age of NC State University is ahead. It’s an exciting time to be an alum.

The biggest kicker so far with this story is that WRAL is using Marcus Paige as their cover boy for the story. That entire BOT shenanigan is Exhibit A in the long line of evidence showing why UNC and the UNC BOT just doesn’t get it.

Isn’t this like the racist joke teller at a party later saying, “What? I have black friends.” Paige is just the latest to get used by UNC. Sad.

    GAWolf
    Keymaster

So is this what brings Sharpton and Jackson to the party? Many of us have been wondering what has taken so long for the figureheads of the minority action organizations to speak up. This could easily be the catalyst for substantially more attention being pointed UNC’s way.

There’s just no way around it. If you have ever been to a game at the Dean Dome and shifted your attention from the floor to the bench and to the crowd the irony of it all is unmistakeable. The entire scene is disgusting with the jerseys hanging from the rafters of players who have been the unwitting victims of this entire scam. There is a video entitled “I am Tar Heel.” where the parade former player after player who without question were placed in fake classes and given fake grades. The most despicable thing about this video is that it still plays in on the big screen today. They still brag and promote players who likely played every game of their career ineligible when their transcripts are viewed in the light of day.

But their UNC… it’s the Carolina Way… it’s the open-minded liberal university that teaches tolerance and diversity. It’s absurd to think that while these racists continue to enslave young men to their servitude they hold themselves up as something virtuous.

This lawsuit is long overdue. Litigation brings with it a process. That process pulls back the curtain. That process shines a light on the darkest corners of corruption.

We can only hope this entity stays the course and fights the fight as it deserves.

The guy referred to MW as Willingscam. He said she was a liar, etc. The post was made on the web but linked directly from his FB account so his personal information was out there. If his FB account was public by his choice, I’m not sure what he can gripe about. The PP guys then searched his posts and realized he had likely been posting on IC quite a bit while on the clock at his state auditor job. I saw the beginning of the thread but not whatever caused the trouble. I didn’t see anything that looked terrible, but I didn’t see pictures of family either. I must have bailed before that to enjoy another weekend of State athletic suckitude.

I wouldn’t call App “hapless.” I’ll assume you got that from the local media outlet who wrote up the weekend’s games. App had us on the ropes twice, once with Rodon on the mound. They’re 0-for so far but have also had a series with an SEC school, MSU I think. The same local media knucklehead has chalked up a win for UNC this week, but don’t be shocked if App beats the Heels. They’re strong. I watched them play twice this weekend and was pretty impressed.

EDIT: Sorry. 4 SEC games -3 losss to Arkansas and 1 to UT.

Someone should send John Skipper a sympathy card so the realization will sink in that his entire collegiate identity fostered in the great Dean Smith and how he “did things the right way” has been murdered before his very eyes. He needs to get over the denial phase and start dealing with the other stages of grief.

He’s been had, just like every other gullible dolt to ever turn a blind eye to the bullshit flowing out of their alma mater.

If they had an iota of sense they’d move to a stage of anger and sit on it for a while.

I cannot see the referee individual stats as I don’t pay for statsheet. That’s what I was hoping maybe one of you guys could offer.

But thank you for the heads up.

I gave up on the game in the first half when we lost our lead and decided a lunch with my family was a more appropriate use of my time given the inevitable disappointment obvious from the decay of the first half lead. I’m no soothsayer, but rather just a lifelong disgruntled and realistic Pack fan.

45/33 and 24/15 are the free throw differentials for the two games Luckie called, Central and Pitt.

That doesn’t make much sense given our propensity to play inside the arc and in transition.

Can someone find the stats for the zebras? I listened to the first part of the game on the radio, and there seemed to be some discrepancies in the officiating from our radio guys.

Jamie Lucky called both this game and the Central game.

During the critical period in the first half when our big lead eroded away, our radio guys seemed apalled by some of the no-calls directly in front of Lucky.

Isn’t there a website that shows the stats for each official during the game?

Keep in mind, Luckie was the leader of the KH shoetape idiocy.

Someone should ask ol’ Drew R. what he thinks about about that, Triad.

Nice work with the numbers, Ruffles. It’s interesting that this is the BEST CASE SCENARIO for UNC Basketball and the Swahili prong. This is assuming all unknown facts in their favor. Reality is probably somewhere far from “in their favor.” However, until more transparency is known, this is the best possible assumption.

Again, with misleading information such as “3%” out there, an independent investigation is absolutely 100% necessary.

SWAH 403 [003] Intermediate Kiswahili III (3). This course is intended for learners who have already acquired Kiswahili proficiency in 401 and 402. It increases communicative proficiency and language learning ability as well as proficiency in cultures of the Swahili-speaking people.

    From here:

    http://africa.unc.edu/languages/swahili_info/swahili_main.asp

Couple things…. This class requires a pretext of proficiency or proof of prior completion of Swahili 401 and 402. So these athletes must have also taken 2 prior classes, had Swahili offered at their high school, or exceptions were made for them to get in. If no post entry tests were given, I’m sure there were no proficiency pretests.

Further, I know of no high school that teaches Swahili outside of the continent of Africa.
