ParticipantWe need our shot-botherers in full effect today. Let’s start this one off on the right foot, Pitt media seems fairly confident from what I’ve read.

ParticipantWOW,
One of the Vegas lines (which tracks three sources) has us at a 3 – 3.5 underdog. Thought it would have been more.
Guess the keys to the game are don’t jump out to a humongous lead. Don’t get buried so bad we can’t recover. Fight all the way to the end and be in JV’s PTW (Position To Win).
Hopefully all the Christmas cheer and New Years debauchery will have cycled through.
Off to the PNC….GO PACK.

Participant-
I could see us winning this game if Lennard goes on a window washing spree and JV protects the rim.
When TJ is our best rebounder and our big men are tallying more personals than blocks it’s just a miracle to be in the game.

KeymasterI think we will win, maybe even going away. Pitt, as usual, is completely untested.

ModeratorMore telling, perhaps, than the final 3.5 spread,, is that State opened as a 2.5 dog.
It will. be physical.

I was under the impression that the ‘smart money’ is always on the home underdog. Not in this case?

ParticipantI’m looking at this as a good early test.
The Pack has established that it prefers an open game with plenty of transition scoring. That ain’t going to happen against Pitt. So with this game and the Wahoos coming to town next Saturday, this team is going to have to adjust to a low-paced halfcourt game pretty quickly.
If they can do that, I’ve got a slightly better feeling about this team’s near-term prospects (being patient, making adjustments, etc.).

ParticipantI’m in a bad mood already, so we better friggin’ win.

KeymasterI am excited about this game. Hopefully Vandy shows up. He can be a game changer but has been lost the past two games.

KeymasterCat puts a lot of pressure on a defense. You have to be paying attention.
Where is the “get a foul when you drive” all for Lee?

KeymasterIt’s like Pitt hasn’t played a quick team all year. Did someone foreshadow that? 😀

KeymasterStarting the weekend off pretty damned good. Pack firing on all cylinders, NOT letting Pitt drag us down to their speed.
