Too bad Winston wasn’t benched this week, we would have smoked ’em. Suddenly I feel real good about the rest of the schedule. IMO we even have a shot at the tiggers next week. BC lost today, the lou just did get by Wake, and the irish will kill cuse tonight. I think we have a very good chance at a real decent season. And I’m really impressed at the play from our young folks. And mark this, tonight’s game WILL make a difference in recruiting. The kids who were there tonight saw us hold our own against FSU. You gotta know most of them went to that game expecting them to blow us off the field. That DID NOT happen.

Say what you want but GSU ain’t no cupcake and ODU has a QB that can flat play. QB’s make all the difference. TOB over achieved with two NFL QBs. If we hadn’t have had them State would have been plain awful.

I think we take at least 3 out of the rest of the season. Going in I’d have thought that was darned difficult. Cuse and Wake should be very possible, GT is also a possible and we could pick up one more than that. But we do need a backup at QB.

    From WRAL…
The Pirates rolled to a program-record 789 total yards and flirted with setting a single-game program scoring record, too. It also amounted to the worst defensive performance ever by the Tar Heels (2-1), who had never given up more yards, points or first downs.

So first time anyone has hung 70 on them. Wish it could have been us.

Ass hats all around. Clueless whiney bitches.

To be fair foose we ARE muddling around in the dark here. It’s a given that QB from ODU is no slouch. No matter what the competition level is you don’t amass 11K yards in a career (with a season left to go) without having some things on the ball. I can’t ever remember a team anywhere as young as ours. And it shows at times, and that is the frustration level. The whining should be directed at TOB. That bunch was too lazy and too stoopid to see what they were doing to our program with their lack of commitment to recruiting. It’s just painful to watch the results. One thing to remember is that DD is still learning too. You cannot question his passion though, and somehow someway he was able to muster the troops and come away with a win two weeks in a row when I for one amongst many thought we would get smoked in both cases. To rally young kids to overcome those deficits is immense. TOB couldn’t have done it. CTC, with all his bravado, fell short too.

well there’s the first thing that went right. If we didn’t make that 4th down conversion DD would be dead in the water.

The REALLY funny thing about this is 999 times out of 1000 it’s THE OTHER WAY AROUND. People using your for the contraction you are (you’re). That is classic if ever there was one. Blows Wolp Fack away, not even close.

We need more than one, McClendon may be the successor but I’d like to see him be pushed by someone to make it as first team. Russell had Glendon, Glendon had NO ONE! Yep there were QBs on the roster but no one that could even come close to replacing him. And it wasn’t just the QB position, most of our positions were only one or two deep under TOB, and THAT was the problem. A couple of #1s would go down and poof, there went your season. It happened almost every year with TOB.

I said before the game that this was a scary opponent. Add to that the new coach is NOT a slouch, and has an impressive record himself. GSU was well prepared. Personally, our ability to come away with a win, especially when the tent could have folded during the long drive following us not coming away with points from the 4 impressed me. Was it ugly? The first half and half of the 3rd quarter was. But when the chips were really down and GSU was showing fatigue they went for the jugular and hit it. There’s lots to be said for how big this win was mentally for this team. And say what you want, there were some freshmen that were downright IMPRESSIVE with caps. Tell me when the last time was that you saw that many first year players make that many plays or that big a difference. We need to get another QB in here next year and have him ready to go when Brisset leaves. The receiver corps are doing just fine. Give the offensive line a few more weeks to gel and we got us a football team, at least on offense. I’m tickled with where we sit.

On the field… Herschel and Bo playing in the same game.<br>
    Priceless.

I think the only time that could’ve happened would have been at Jordan-Hare.

You’re right foose, 82 they played at Jordan-Hare. The dogs won it though 19 – 14. Walker is still the best player I’ve ever seen in high school. Was working in radio in south Georgia back in the late 70s and did color commentary for our broadcast of the local high school. Walker ran all over the local team in the state semis, and when I say ran all over he had 270 of his 3,100 or so yards for the year that night. He didn’t even play from the halfway point of the third quarter on. He was a monster!

I told you this team was dangerous. They have offensive weapons AND just like last year we can’t tackle for $hit.

In case you missed it Willie Fritz can coach. And GSU beat Florida last year. This team may be a nightmare to play as a first game. I really don’t have a very good feeling about it at ALL.

Oh, you’ve made your position clear enough not only on this subject but many other ones that show exactly where you’re coming from. The difficulty is no one can have an opposing view without drawing your ire. For me, I find it hard to see how someone, you included, are liberal in actual mindset, rather than in political leaning, when you REFUSE to even acknowledge that someone can have an opposing point of view. Instead of liberal I think we should refer to those on the political left as anarchists. It’s a much more fitting description.

pakfanistan, I am so sick of hearing your liberal biased drivel. NO ONE dares to have an opposing view lest they be stupid, ignorant conservatives. Tell you what I’ll match you in an IQ contest and spot you 40 points. And I too am sick and tired of a president (lower case on purpose) that lies and talks down to me. He will become known as the worst president in history, yes even worse than James Buchanan (who beats carter by a long shot).

I have a cousin who is managing partner of the law firm that represents Jerry Jones, you know, the guy that more or less told the NFL to stuff it when it comes to licensing of merchandise and to selling sponsorships. Just for grins I called him up last night and had an interesting conversation. The hill the NBA will have to climb in court over trying to make Donald sell is they are going to have to prove tangible detriment. They will not be able to just claim that what he said was detrimental, they will have to real numbers. In this case there is no “measurable or tangible degree of detriment”. Also, and this is important, in his rants, he never once said anything that was derogatory or specifically racist, only that he did not want his girlfriend associating with blacks. He never stated a reason why he didn’t want this. My cousin felt that Donald’s lawyers could make a case that the NBA has no case. Also consider that the courts have ruled in favor more than once on owner’s rights over the associations rights in several situations including Jerry Jones and Al Davis. Davis moved the Raiders not once but twice in spite of every owner going against him. In the end the court sided with the rights of the owner over the rules of the association. And yes, I will agree that I could be fired for saying things I shouldn’t, in Donald’s case he is not subject to employment guidelines, he does not work for the NBA. Also, and this is the most detrimental to the case of the NBA, when Elgin Baylor sued him, Baylor brought to court many items of evidence that his lawyers felt would seal the case against Donald. It didn’t happen, and those things were much more egregious than this phone conversation.
