I understand playing FSU, Clemson, and Louisville helps the scheduling when 2 of those 3 are at home. There are BCS teams from some conferences out there who are always rebuilding that would satisfy ticket holders who we can play early on. Playing a bottom tier BCS conference team compared to an Old Dominion or Presbyterian would also benefit the team as the drop off would not be as huge when they get into ACC play. The exception this years scheduling of course.

This is a great thing and I for one will be there. I hope one day State will retire his jersey as he deserves it. That way there will be 16,17 and 18 that will never be able to worn again in State history.

Just read the news on WRAL that Tyler Lewis is leaving the program. Looks like we’re gonna need another guard.

What brought this on I wonder? He started the last 14 games of the season and has played well. Is it something with the coach or what? Why would you transfer when you’re the starting guard?

That is amazing but you know the skies would have to open up for the basketball program to be included. The powers that be would never let anything disrupt BB over there. Believe me when I say that!

Gott takes us to 3 straight NCAA tourn and you really think there should be talk of firing the man? Yes, defense is not one of his strong points among a few others but please!

It looks like the Stanford win over Kansas has put me at number 1 for the moment.

Sure they were tired as I have no issue there. We just did not hit our FT. We also did not attack the press and go to the basket instead of holding up. Gott missed on some adjustments but it came down to FT. I did wonder why Gott had Vandy go in the game with 4 fouls instead of Anya. What are you going to get from Vandy with the 4 fouls. If he plays defense he fouls out most likely. That had to be in the back of Vandys head.

With 28 secs left in ot TJ did not need to foul as someone else should have either help trap TJs man and they pick the foul up. AS it came down to the final seconds of OT only needing 2 to send it to double OT our one player that can give us the 2 is on the bench.

We all know TJ will not be back next year but, that has to leave a bitter taste in his mouth. Bitter enough to come back. Now that is a long shot but it is a shot no matter how slim. I can dream all I want and until it is announced he will go to the nba that is what I will do.

No reaching in by TJ to pick up cheap fouls tonight. I read that they play good defense and make teams shoot late in the shot clock. We have been playing some great defense ourselves. Freeman has been playing like a man on a mission when it comes to defense along with all our other bigs. Great timing for us on that note.

I know we need to only think of this game but it would be nice if Mannhatten upsets the cards. I can at least dream!

I have seen many unc games where they get many calls go their way but this one takes the cake. I know pitt helped then get back into the game. Maybe it’s me but unc was fouling big time the last 2 to 4 minutes of the game. I don’t care how well coached they are as a team in applying pressure and having hands waving all over the place. I must of counted 10 or 11 fouls that were not called and they still had 3 guys foul out.

We still get to kick their ass in baseball. then we can send them completely out of the conference.

Which is why Cat Barber is the key to victory.

That is why Gott needs to have Cat and Lewis in the game at the same time at crucial times of the game.

Again I will ask this question? Maybe there is no telling how. But, is there a chance Karl Hess refs our game tonight?

We’ll beat Miami today. I might be wrong but I feel that if we get to Sunday after beating Syracuse and duke we should get in as long as were not blown out on Sunday. That would have had us beaten Pitt at Pitt and Syracuse along with Duke in the Tourn.

Maybe TJ Winning the POY along with those wins would be enough But, It is one game at a time. Survive and Advance with Miami being the only thing that should be on the teams mind.

Just got back from game one. Very exciting game. Looked to me that Rodon did not have his best stuff and struggled. To show how great a pitcher he is he gave up 9 hits but only three runs. Yes, great defense by the infield but when it came down to crunch time he stepped up. They all did!

I will make this real simple. Have either Parker, Patterson or Paige on our team. I am sorry but I just do not see them having us finish in the top 3 or 4 in the conference. It is TJ Warren POY.

It all really comes down to Gott is a good coach not a GREAT coach. I feel we have a very good coaching staff and I wonder how much of what the other coaches imput are being deflected by Gott.

I agree with you all about the officiating but maybe a little strategy.
I just have one question to our coach and that is why not have Lewis and Barber in the game at the same time. This way Lewis main role stays the same and Barber defends Paige when unc has the ball. The ideal time for Gott to put this to work would have been in the OT. To be true to everyone, I was so involved in the final 5 minutes I did not see if Gott did have that line-up in the game.

If TJ and TL hit their second FT shots we win by one. But Paige would have just went ahead and hit a 3 and we go into double ot. It was a great game and I to am proud of this team.

After looking back on the final play, I do see that Cat was not fouled. I will end all debate on the so-called bad calls by the officials by stating that if we just hit 2 free throws in the first half the upset would be in the books. I believe we went 3 for 10. To win a game like this a team must put all the pieces together and free throw shooting is one of those pieces.

    billonthebeach- I agree with you.

After Maryland Athletics achieves financial stability, half of its excess revenues will be used to repay its debts and the other half will be set aside to build its financial reserves. This is to ensure that Maryland Athletics, which is a self-supporting enterprise, will never again be in a position where it has to cut teams. They have cut seven or eight sports already. Maryland’s uncertain ACC exit fee and its own budgetary issues have to be a big worry. In football it will be a long time before they are a bleep on the radar.

    WE BUILT THE ACC Bill!!!

We hung in to the very end with the number 1 team in the land at their house. Everyone has been talking about the TJ play, what about Barber at the end? Was he fouled?
Anyway we can what if all night. I think somewhere in the BPI formula there should be some positives given to us for almost pulling off the upset at their place. Maybe so but that might be fishing a little.
We now need to focus on winning at Clemson this Tuesday and move on. Turn the page pack. You proved to the bubble experts you can play with the big boys. Now improve the resume before the regular season ends or it will take moderate to major impact in the tournament if you don’t.

Packalum44 has the right to his opinion. I am sure he wants us to win and I agree with his statement about our coach on his coaching skills. I will not speak to a persons private life though. I just feel he lacks with the proper in game decisions that are needed from the bench. Now maybe alum44 should have stated it this way so he would not have offended some of you on SFN.

About 2 and a half years ago I told some of you on here that the team that did their homework come draft day would hit the lottery if they would pick Russell Wilson. I remember hearing all the reasons why he would not make it as an nfl QB.

When a player has that IT about them which Russell has, then you can take and throw the negative right out the window. He is a winner and a class act. Thank God I can say that I was fortunate to have seen him play for the Wolfpack. GO SEAHAWKS!

Did Sweezy play tonight? I did not see his jersy number at the right guard position. I might have missed him though.

Now it is on to New York and Peyton.

Has there ever been a QB in his second year to lead his team into a Super Bowl?
