First of all I want to apologize for asking a question about the game and the related TV Schedule.

Does anybody know when they typically release the coverage maps for the reverse mirror (I would call it split) of the FSU game? I’m just curious to see if the local stations in Texas carry the BIG game or the ACC.

I think DD has made progress. If our offense ends up being average over the course of the season that will be proof.

As for the defense, I have advised everyone I know to bet the over on FSU total yards as long as they set the number at 700 or lower. We still need a huge talent and experience infusion on that side of the ball. He really needs to show some significant progress there by the end of next season.

In my mind this is about what you signed up for and having enough self-discipline to follow through on your commitments. The rules are the rules. You’re making more money than 99.5% of the world’s population so grow up.

An optimist is never pleasantly surprised.

I am by nature more optimistic than pessimistic, but I have been known to develop a blind spot about certain people and/or subjects that keeps them on my poop list forever.

There’s just something about Dana Bible calling four yard crossing routes that baffles the FSU defense.

I like the goals. All are attainable, without being slam dunks. DD is looking taller.

The first two words got it exactly right, “cautious optimism.”

We are seeing week to week improvement, meaning positive influence by the coaching staff. That is encouraging for the program overall.

I expect this week’s game to be more of the same, but still looking for quality of execution on a snap-by-snap basis.

Still have no idea where that 6th win would come from to get us in a bowl. My guess is that if we get it, it will be a big upset and the highlight of this season.

    WF = Potential 5th Win
Potential 6th Win comes from the following three games BC, GT, Syracuse
If you play the common opponent game with GT you have to believe this is a toss-up. The BC game is in Raleigh so I can’t make the Eagles a prohibitive favorite in that one. Syracuse can be had as well.

CBS Sports Net had the game so any replay on the internets would probably be on the CBS Sports web site. A search of DirecTV doesn’t show any replays scheduled during the week so far. As one sided as the game was, I’d be shocked if it was rebroadcast.

Cow Dog beat me to my first comment.

After watching UF last night, I’m pretty sure that we ended up with the better of their two QB’s.

Does anyone know why Creecy got so much more time yesterday than he did against ODU? All three backs were effective, just curious if there was some injury last week.

As Dave Huxtable’s most vocal critic on this board, I have to give him credit for the best defensive performance I’ve seen from a State team since Mario graduated. I just hope that wasn’t Fools’ Gold yesterday. It’s hard to imagine USF being that bad, but I guess we will see.

It was really different to sit down and watch a State team dominate somebody for the full 60 minutes.

After last night’s beat down in bean town, the second four games of the year look really tough. If we win one of those I’ll be surprised.

Based on how suddenly Andre Brown disappeared from the Texans planning, I’m sure they got wind of the fact that he turned the water purple.

Ray Rice’s attorney was out there implying all sorts of provocation on the part of his fiance as “justification” or mitigation for what he did. The Ravens have largely been supportive of Rice up to this point. Now that the video is out, which I haven’t seen, but is described as him essentially knocking her out and not even bending over to check on her as she laid on the floor of the elevator.

The NFL was either incompetent or complicit with respect to the elevator video and so were the Ravens. If they trusted Ray Rice on this subject they were fools. They both have to scramble now and do damage control before they get in too much PR trouble.

The offense is miles ahead of last year. V-S had three drops last night that would have made the offense look even better.

The defensive line looks worse than last year and I’ll offer the caveat that it might actually be LB play that has regressed, but our lack of pressure on the QB last night was telling.

I agree that you can’t pass judgement on DD until next season at the earliest. He had too much ground to make up after the previous staff retired on the job rather than recruit true D1 talent. With two of the guaranteed massacres pretty early on the schedule, we will have the opportunity for any improvement that might occur in season to pay off with an “extra” win later in the year.

How can we be this overmatched against ODU? The defense is awful.

When you got it you got it. It doesn’t matter what coast you’re coaching on as long as you honor the process. With this extension the ASU fan base can start to see the daylight compartment at the end of the tunnel.

The cost of McLane Stadium is pretty high when you consider that UH built TDECU Stadium for 120 Million and it holds 40,000. Both of these have an expansion plan already designed into the original stadiums, so unless the foo foo factor makes Uncle Drayton’s place really stand out, I’m not seeing why the cost difference was so high.

The big plays just killed us yesterday. The defense looked a lot better 90% of the time. Brissett is a major upgrade at QB and the offense will be a lot better because of him. I like DD so far. I just hope we can win enough games for recruiting to get over the hump.

Some of the football gurus may know better, but my assumption would be that the 4-2-5 would be better against the pass than against a run happy team like GSU. I did draw some hope from the red zone stops.

The Weedeater Bowl would be a major accomplishment this year. I thought six wins was a possibility before yesterday, but I’ve lowered my number to five.
