I don’t remember the final score or much else, except that it was a close, hard fought game and I had a great time… and that a few of the names on the floor in blue were Verga, Vacendek and Lewis and in red… Williford and Wells….

I said several weeks ago that we would get blown out a lot this year in conference play. Here’s why I said that.
1) We don’t have any shooters other than possibly Beverly
2) We don’t have any slashers/drivers that can finish
3) We don’t have any really good post up scorers
4) Frenchy and Dorn on the offensive glass are our most consistent sources of offense
But the biggest reason
5) Given all of the above, Keatts has decided to play his style of ballIt’s like playing the Run and Shoot when your QB is Billy Kilmer.
I understand that Keatts is trying to install his system and playing for the future. I also understand that doing that in the ACC with this roster gives us almost no chance to win. This means that at this point he still has unwavering confidence that his way will ultimately work and he thinks that the value of getting reps in his system outweighs the damage done by getting your brains beat in 15 times in an 18 game conference schedule.Next year won’t be much better in terms of wins and losses. The recruiting class may be good enough to keep us in a few more games but you’re still looking at 6-7 conference wins TOPS. My hope is that he will modify his style a bit once he sees where it’s weaknesses are against ACC teams.
Almost have 10 points this half and we’ve only played 12.5 minutes. Don’t want to use up all of the points too quickly. I’m not sure how we win a conference game this year either but you should always remember that a normal distribution has asymtotes. We appear to be spending all of our time in the wrong one.
Maybe Allerick should sit for a little or is he needed so much and the bench so short you hope he can take this beating and learn from it sort of like a baptism of fire.
The way he is playing today, he needs to sit to send the message that he can’t play stupid and remain on the floor

I didn’t see warm-ups but I’d bet he was 2-6 with three turnovers during the layup drill. He is having a terrible day.
I have not been able to see the game but I noticed in the play by play there seem to be a lot of missed lay ups. Is that bad shot selection or the yips or …?
Most were highly contested. Several were out of control.
This is the kind of drought you’d better get used to with this team. Al Freeman and Doran have been awful with the ball this half.
Ugly first 12 but we are still ahead. Frenchy will need to play the rest of the half after Abu registers his second.

When we don’t score in the red zone, it’s the play-calling. When we do score, the players decided not to sit out.
It’s a package deal.
