I honestly thought WVU had a great chance last night.

I told my buddy from Kentucky that it all hinged on officiating — if the game was officiated like our game with WVU was officiated then they had a great chance. Unfortunately for the Mountaineers, the refs were having no part of that physical stuff. Never had a chance.

Has it really been FOUR YEARS?

    Link

The Colts signed former Bronco Nate Irving, an unrestricted free agent who spent his past four seasons in Denver. Irving started all three of the Broncos’ playoff games on their way to Super Bowl XLVIII two years ago and the first eight games of the 2014 season before an ACL tear placed him on injured reserve.

Due to that injury, it’s uncertain if Irving will be able to participate in offseason workouts with the Colts. He is, however, expected to be ready for training camp in late July.

Irving had also visited the Arizona Cardinals during free agency, and had an offer on the table, according to a source, before eventually deciding to sign a three-year deal with the Colts.

In a Week 1 game vs. the Colts last September, Irving had five tackles and a sack on Andrew Luck in the Broncos’ 31-24 victory. The former third-round pick has totaled 104 tackles in four seasons in Denver.

Irving could contend for a starting spot at inside linebacker. Of the two starters from last season, D’Qwell Jackson is under contract and Jerrell Freeman is expected to return.

State and Carolina both play on Thursday. Hilarious that the cheaters play Harvard in game one. Heels with an EASY first weekend. *shock*

UNC definitely did not win a team championship in any sport last academic year for the first time (maybe in conference history. I’ve got the research somewhere and will try to find it.

I have not checked this year’s results to see…but I don’t remember them winning anything.

It was ABSOLUTELY NOT A FOUL.

The point wasn’t that it was a foul. The point was that neither was the other one that was called (and for an important 5th foul).

I guess I should’ve made that point more clear in the original post. I will go back and do it.

I think the current youth and depth in the program sets us up to probably focus very heavily on the best of the best. Even if we only land one stud this year (along with Terry Henderson coming in as a junior), I think we are very well positioned for the future.

    From Wolfpacker:

NC State could be the No. 6 seed or the No. 7 seed in next weekโ€™s ACC Tournament (March 10-14) in Greensboro, N.C.

The Wolfpack (9-8 ACC) will be the No. 6 seed with a win over Syracuse at noon Saturday at PNC Arena, and if Miami also falls at Virginia Tech the same day.

NCSU will be the No. 7 seed with a loss to Syracuse or if Miami tops VT.

The No. 6 seed would play the No. 11/14 winner Wednesday at 9 p.m. on ESPN/ACC Network. The No. 7 seed would play the No. 10 seed at 7 p.m. on ESPN/ACC Network.

Five ACC teams enter the weekend with definite seeds. Virginia is the No. 1 seed, followed by Duke and Notre Dame.

Wake Forest is the No. 11 seed and Boston College the No. 12 seed.

The ACC Tournament semifinals have been moved to 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. March 13, and the title game will be at 8:30 p.m. March 14. NC State head coach Mark Gottfried is happy to have the championship game be played Saturday night, rather than Sunday afternoon.

โ€œI really like it a lot,โ€ Gottfried said. โ€œI think it was the right move to make by our commissioner and by the ADs.

โ€œI like the Saturday night championship game. As far as exposure and viewership around the country, I think that is the right move. You also give everybody thatโ€™s fortunate to play in the tournament an extra day of rest.โ€

Did a quick and dirty search of coaches on the hot seat and he was not listed on any of them. He is not going anywhere.

Oh well…if the media isn’t talking about it then it surely won’t happen!! ๐Ÿ™‚

ASU has new leadership. Not the same people that originally hired him and have supported him. People that have come from pro sports where accountability and winning matter. Their attendance is atrocious. Nobody cares. They will be lucky to finish at .500. Barely a top 100 RPI. YEAR NINE with only a single NCAA Tournament win…ever.

    Writing is on the wall.

The only way he survives is if his contract is so expensive that they simply can’t afford it.

Reminder — Colt Culler was already moved to defensive end.

Speaking of which — it sounds like Kentavious Street may move to defensive tackle.

I think there is a big difference between the expectations of starting scholarship players vs starting non-scholarship players on senior night.

Love the post and the conversation!! But, I think you have to start the scholarship guys and try hard to find a spot to put the non-scholarship guys in.

Given that Arch is a grad, it is nice to see him doing well and if that were the reason this is linked, hooray.

What other reason would their be?

How the F*** do some of you guys immediately (a) presume that this has any reason being posted other than the obvious, and (b) start effectively criticizing and arguing with us about the ‘reasons’ for posting it.

Archie is an alum of NC State who was in uniform within most of all our memories. He — and any other NC State players — who are doing things out there will get talked about in forums because they are doing great things in the world. When we post news about Vinny Del Negro or Sidney Lowe and their coaching moves nobody jumps to these conclusions. Sheesh. Relax guys.

Just absolutely unbelievable work!! How do we get this series in front of some national media and get it the kind of kudos and attention it deserves?

MORE IMPORTANTLY, how can we leverage the work and put it to use ‘Vegas style’ this year!!

Herb is toast. Down 41-9 at halftime and lost by more than 40+ points. Not a recipe for long term success.
