I’ve actually watched quite a bit since the Cards exit. I honor the game! 🙂
I was pulling for the Jays so I could watch people here lose their minds. I should have pulled for the Cubs since they ousted the Cards, but I just couldn’t do it. I watched last night, and saw the opening insider and Hosmer’s Buckner-esque moment, and then his redemption.
Baseball suffers from a lack of urgency until you get to a potential series winning game. Diehards and team fans will be in to all the games, but the lead up games are not usually must see TV. That said, game 1 did have a 30% increase over last year – mostly attributed to the NY market though.
The plays were there for easy scores. JB missed. Ugh.
Perhaps I missed something on replay. With the state of the kicking game, I don’t get the point of three passes, leaving yourself 4th and 11. You’re on the 14, just keep running.

Obviously, sex sells. The bball homepage on ESPN.com was wall to wall Louisville scandal yesterday. Today that’s down to about half the stories scandal related. Forgive me if I forget in my old age, but I don’t recall the same coverage given to the (evidently boring) academic and athletic improprieties conducted in Chapel Hill for the past 20 years. I’m so naive.
Evidently the kid who scored broke or dislocated his hip on the play. Hard to tell when it happened, but he was getting piled on afterwards and you can see him yelling at teammates to get off.
Though by God, I really want to try going in the front door for a change. How about you guys?
I second that. I’d like the only mystery to be whether we get a 3, 4 or 5 seed in the NCAA. After getting a double bye in the ACC of course.
