The Gott is here for a while. Too much money for us to drop with the current contract.

Now that being said if someone could find a
HOT cheerleader to leave in his office we may have a shot….

A friend of mine (Dukie) texts me during the game randomly and says:

“Does State run any plays at all? It is just unorganized street ball. I didn’t really how bad the coaching was but dang that’s bad”

Now he isn’t a basketball genius but just the point was striking. He isn’t a trash talker either. Anyway, as much as I hate to admit it we are so lost out there. It is SOOOOOOOOOOOOO unorganized it is hard to watch. I DO LIKE THIS TEAM and I think the potential is there. However, the progress to this point rests on the shoulders of Gott and Co.

No more excuses, blaming the refs, youth, new system, shots not falling etc. We all know Gott has a free pass until next year but one has to think his seat is warming following such an awful FB season (I know they are seperate but that FB frustration can carry over to BB a good bit). Crap I don’t know what to say anymore. I just want to be relevant again and not be bottom dwellers.

We should be better than we are (a lot better) at this point. Please Gott figure something out or at least try something new. Good coaches adapt to what they have even if it means a TOTALLY different style of play….at least for now.

Unless something major changes you can bet Tyler Lewis will be the first on the transfer list. I also agree we may have a few more.

We are also not quite as young as we appear due to the transfers we picked up. We are still young but that is no excuse for some of the issues on both sides of the ball. I did not expect a top 25 team but based on our talent level we are playing well below our potential.

Look, we all have opinions on who is better than who and game critique etc. However, unless you live under a rock you have to agree our offense (or lack there of) has NO ORGANIZATION or flow. Our defense can be described the same way. This team plays HARD but that can’t make up for lack of offensive plays etc. We live and die by our transition offense after missed shots.

At least try to draw up a play on a napkin or something….

I agree Barber is a big upside for us with lots of potential. So I will not bash him at all. However, I still think Lewis runs the offense better at current moment. All I have said all along is Lewis deserves more minutes than he gets. I agree he has to start hitting the 3 and needs to be more confident with taking the shot/driving the Lane. No that doesn’t mean he is better than Cat but it does mean he his a lot better than sitting the bench as much as he does.

If only Gott had the ability to motivate and organize this team. I feel those are his weaknesses as a HC. If he can turn the ship around from the current track I will gladly take a large plate of BBQ Crow.

We have a lot of concerns to deal with concerning both our FB and BB programs in the months ahead. I love Baseball….

I didn’t know Lewis was sick so that makes sense. Lewis runs the offense better than Cat right now. Cat is faster, more athletic, better scorer I guess, better on defense blah blah. However, right now (not tomorrow not earlier in the year) Lewis is running the offense better. It is much smoother when he is in there. He needs more time in the game. Your shot can’t get better without playing time.

Sorry my rant continues to be on the offensive side of the ball…defense is rough especially with the new whistle happy rules. On offense we are lost plain and simple. It’s as if that just run around with no intent. I don’t know what it is anymore but Gott is looking rough at coaching at the moment (not recruiting, management, PR etc just coaching). That doesn’t mean I’m on the throw him out mindset but rather WTF is going on at practice. Do we have any plays at all? We have no organization or leadership on the court plain and simple. Oh yeah, Turner can shoot but that does NOT mean he should shoot every freaking time he touches it. Look for a good shot man.

He has a good resume and results elsewhere. However, one has to ask did Arkansas have any idea what our winless ACC season looked like? Especially high scoring games by opposing offenses. Just saying he may be great but it is strange he would be a hot item at this moment in time. Strange….

Not so much about the game but I just don’t see how Lewis doesn’t transfer.

As for the game (and many other games) we have long periods of being lost. Really lost tonight. I’m not throwing anybody under the bus or going negative on Gott. However , it does seem as if we are winning or staying in games with talent alone. Maybe it is just me but the offense seems as if it’s just fly by the pants style. It just seems as if there is no guidance. The body language of the players and most importantly the coaches don’t reflect anything good at the moment.

I agree ^^ we have good talent and potential. We are VERY unorganized. Sorry but the line up substitutions suck. They just suck. WBS needs more time if Cat continues to make bad decisions. OMG Turner shoots more than …anybody

Sad effort. They all look lost and confused. What else can you say but $&&/);$: this BS. We have talent but someone needs to figure out how to motivate, run an offense and manage a line up. That doesn’t mean I know more than the coaches but does mean I know enough to say we absolutely look like white dog $hit.

Gott has some weird line ups. Sure would like to see WBS and Cat on the court at the same time.

WBS is scared to take a shot anymore and usually passes on Many open 3 attempts. I know his shot isn’t the best but he has to find confidence somewhere. If he could find 8-10 points every night I think we could be really good. An extra 10 points on top of Cat’s points could make a big difference in the W/L category. WBS has lost that flair with the ball he was so good at in the past. He is timid and scared of his shot as well as his “And 1 mixtape” passes. Spice it up WBS and do what you are good at.

I still think there is a place for him and Cat on the floor at the same time. Especially with a zone Defense on our part.

Glad we pulled it out. I still think WBS had a solid game and does a better job in the 1/2 court offense than Cat does. wBS just can’t shoot. We also did a great job feeding the bigs in the 1st half.

    Dang Cat….make better decisions

WBS has looked MUCH better tonight. If he could learn to shoot it would be perfect. Cat is still struggling with his decision making and shot selection. Why can’t we play both PG’s at the same time a little more?

Also, WBS had done very well on defenses tonight thus far which is usually his weakness.

I hope we see a little more WBS tonight. I know it’s not likely because ND is tall but he needs some more of that Freshman confidence like he had last year. We need CAT for transition and defense as well as WBS for a 1/2 court offense. I hope we can find a way to play them both at the same time. Maybe Zone D will allow is to use a smaller line up.

I don’t know what to say anymore honestly. I’m not knocking Cat or WBS here just saying exactly how long has it been since we had a true PG? We have big men that can’t seem to get the ball down low. Dribble penetration is typically out of control. Truthfully we have two teams here. One that does well with CAT on missed shots/transition and the other that seems best in the 1/2 court with WBS.

Honestly, I would have WBS shoot 500 3’s per day in practice (morning, noon and night). Cat practice a controlled drive and dish all day or post up passing to the bigs.

I for one think we have the talent on the floor we need to be MUCH better than we are. A leader on the court shouldn’t be so dang difficult to find.

It just amazes me that as a major University they wouldn’t take Academic cheating/fraud more seriously. Regardless of all the other serious issues as a University (not the NCAA, not the press etc) how can this be acceptable? If I graduated from CH I would be pissed. I would want everyone who got credit for those classes to be out of there (they knew it was fake) and/or at least the course taken again prior to credit being received. Plus, why can’t other students cheat? I mean if it isn’t that big of a deal it sure would make college easier…

We aren’t just being bad rivals here with our opinion. If Gottfather or DD did the same thing I would be just as pissed, we all would be pissed. We all know being a student athlete has some perks but the days of fake classes are long gone. How an Alumni, donor or student thinks this is ok is just beyond me. We all want to win and have monster success no matter what. However, my degree makes my money to put back into the program so I kind of think academic fraud is a big deal.

Off the soap box now….nothing to see here. Move along folks this is just daily business next door.

With Saban it is simple. It’s not about the money (did I really just say that….) because Bama will pay whatever Texas can pay. Doesn’t matter how much money Texas has because Bama will pony up the cash to keep him. Second, he is doing comfortably awesome at Bama with solid recruits flowing in.

So in my opinion it is a simple question of whether he wants to live and work in Texas vs Al. Both are awesome jobs with the highest money in the business.

Does Yow know? Is there any way on earth that ESPN or some other national media can hear about this?

Will it be in the paper or on ESPN tomorrow? We have to get this in the main stream!!!
