Participantthought the ACC had a contract with ESPN to broadcast ALL of their games.. my assumption is it’ll be on espn3.. if not guess it wouldn’t pain me to have to watch some SEC

ParticipantTroll, did you put any coin on clempson to cover 19 spread.
I did not. Too early for me to be taking too much action just yet, but I did get the Michigan spread and lost it back on Rutgers spread. Got some dough on the Ducks/MSU over 67 though… hoping the defenses stand around and scratch their asses, but even if they don’t I still like it.

ParticipantI’m not ready to demote ND just yet… was expecting them to be lights out this season but there’s got to be something said for losing their starting QB early in the 3rd and subsequently losing their 13 pt lead and still getting a W. Just my two pennies though.

ParticipantOn the bright side we’re pitching a shutout, but I expected a lot more than what I’m seeing from the offense. Thinking Dave needs to land us our own Jordan Lynch.

ParticipantNDvsUVA game ending is a fun one…. about to switch over to our doo doo ball game for a bit when this one hits zeros then flip it to Ducks/Sparty in an hour. I love the Pack to death but this schedule is such a turn off, esp. if we’re not going to pound the sh!!!t out of these directional teams.

ParticipantHow’s Dave’s recruiting been lately? Obviously it’s pretty early but I’ve been less than impressed in the first 5 quarters of the season.

ParticipantOff topic: UVA’s QB is balling like a stud against ND defense right now

ParticipantAround a 4 TD favorite. Hate that we’re wearing black uni’s… if we somehow lose this should-be tune up game hopefully they’ll burn ’em and never look back. Not counting anything out after today’s slate of upsets/close calls.

ParticipantI will sh!t in my britches if Abu EVER goes pro. I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again, we’re going to miss the NCAA’s this season due to the ACC in general having an “up” year while we’re dealing with turnover probs… I suspect we’ll have folks calling for Gott’s head before Christmas
Hope I’m wrong and that the lunatic fringe is having a nice summer!

ParticipantCarlos is going to be a legit ace in a couple of years so long as I don’t bear witness. I’ve got the MLB package but I’m not sure if I should watch him anymore since both times I’ve tuned in to see him toss he’s gotten absolutely shelled. Otherwise he’s been more than solid for a rook besides his walk count.
Nah I’ll probably watch it if I remember.. small sample size, right? Besides, I hate the Cards but they ARE fun to watch.

ParticipantWow, I’m bit surprised freaking Chris Mullins making waves already for the Red Storm in his first year? That’s impressive I guess. Looks like it may come down to the Pack’s established track record versus a new and apparently charismatic coach.. or more likely Cal gets the 7 footer and makes a last minute pitch to Rowan to snap em both up.
Anybody else take pause when they read the 7 footer is being recruited as a small forward and not a 5? That kid must have a pretty decent game.

ParticipantIf John Feinstein had his way the entire ACC would wear powder blue uniforms with a huge picture of Dean Smith across the chest. The balls on this guy.
Feinstein originally came up with the idea for the award when talking with Rick Brewer, sports information director emeritus at the ACC tournament. He wished that all of the ACC teams were wearing “DES” on their uniforms, and Brewer suggested there should be something to honor Smith going forward.

ParticipantIt should be known that Carlos Rodon is doing absolutely great in his first year in the bigs too. He was thrown right into the fire and is handling it great.. I’d love to see a SFN post highlighting his MLB successes to date.
But of course the one game that I decided to make time for to sit down and watch he gets absolutely shelled in Pittsburgh, giving up 7 runs and getting yanked in the 3rd inning. I’m really starting to wonder if I’m the source of NC State sheeeyat.
The kid is still carrying a 3-1 W/L record and a respectable 3.75 era for his first season. He gives up a lot of walks but if he can manage to stay healthy he is going to be an ace in a few years. It’s truly a damn share he wears a south side uniform though.. I’d love to see Epstein give him a look.

ParticipantI was wondering when you would get a main blog post up! and BOOM goes the dynamite. I tuned into Adam & Joe today to see what they had to say. From what I gather they’re all aboard the pound UNC hard train. God bless em.
Said the punishment probably won’t be known though until 2016. Love it.
Wonder how this is going to affect recruiting?

ParticipantLOIC I would think implies it’s the entirety of the athletics… so no program specific, but encompassing all athletics programs. I’d be surprised if they received a slap on the wrist for LOIC. But who the hell really knows.
TheAliasTroll
Participantloic coming at ya!

ParticipantWhat the heck needs to be done to allow our athletics teams can get over this massive hump? I knew FSU was going to beat us for ACC championship because that’s what always happens when one of our athletics teams get here. Last night’s elimination is hardly a surprise.. even with a 7 run lead.

ParticipantThat and/or they are delaying their response as long as possible to push a possible post-season basketball ban beyond this coming season, their best chance in years.
Why do people think they’re going to be a national contender next season? And I’m don’t mean to pick on you WTNY, I’ve seen a lot of articles claiming they should be a top contender for a title next season. They lost Tokoto. I think they’ll be about the same as last year with a maybe a possibly of being a little better with the development of Justin Jackson. Is their freshman class really going to lift them to be a dominant team? I’m just not seeing it.
TheAliasTroll
ParticipantTrevor is a good college player but not even close to NBA talent and another year doesn’t get him close either. Him being 24 it absolutely makes sense for him to try and get some European money. I don’t think the team gets worse but the competition we play against in the ACC will be even greater next year. If Gott pulls off another NCAA tourney appearance in 2016 build him a statue.
TheAliasTroll
ParticipantStacked indeed. I said the same in another thread. It’s going to be tough sledding next year through the conference and I’m trying to mentally prepare myself. I get the feeling a lot of the fans have already written us into the big dance next season but I’m not so sure. If we’re on the outside looking in I fully expect an epic meltdown and outcry against Gott which is a shame considering his resume he’s put up here. Such is the nature of the business I suppose.
Also I’m curious when this video was made? I’m thinking it must have been before Tokoto declared. UNC will still be as good or better next year without him though, but I’m highly skeptical of them as #2 in the ACC good.
Syracuse is going to be a force next year too. I also look for VTech to make a huge step forward under Buzz in his 2nd year. One thing is for sure: It’ll be a fun ass conference to be a part of next season.
TheAliasTroll
ParticipantNotre Dame going to beat Kentucky tonight. Mark it, dude.
TheAliasTroll
ParticipantWe should be a better team next year. However there are going to be A LOT of ACC teams that you will see improve next year as well. That said I do not expect an easy lunch ticket to the NCAA tourney next year having to play in the obviously best conference in the nation that is only going to get tougher.
In other words I’m not ready to put us into the dance automatically next year. So just brace yourselves.
TheAliasTroll
ParticipantLouisville made shots. We didn’t. That simple.
I’m shocked Lundquist didn’t rush the court.
