I would have called that intentional – just like on Saturday.

They called a foul there but I saw NO contact. So he gets an and 1 because we looked at him?

Hate to see Pete go simply because he never complained (at least publicly) and seemed to be the consummate team player. Guys like that are great for the team, but who wants to stick around and be a backup in a system not designed for his skills? Class act Pete, and wish you well!

Great points Rick. Expect to see Luckie Saturday and maybe King Karl will be with him as well.

I thought he made (or “missed”) several important calls Weds but what bothered me more than anything was the consistency. What seems to be a foul on one end was a no call on the other end.

One other telling stat was the FT’s shot. We always hear (use the word tendencies) that jump shooting teams go to the FT line less than driving/penetrating teams. Yet we shoot fewer 3’s and jump shots than our opponents yet our opponents go to the FT line more, and very blatant in the FSU game.

Thanks VaWolf – I know losses are losses and W/L record is always beneficial. Just curious what a “good” loss on their court might mean. I still think the MZ loss on our court will end up being the one we cannot afford.

Wolves, I am a huge Cam fan for the man he is and his community efforts. Cam carried us to the cup back in 2006 and deserves his due. However, Cam has been injury prone and has struggled some when healthy. There are times he is unbeatable and has saved us numerous times, yet other times is a below average NHL goalie.

I would say 25% of the time Cam is on his head, 50% of the time a good NHL tender, and 25% of the time below average.

Now look at Khudobin – he is 2 years younger than Cam. We cannot afford to pay 2 goaltenders top dollar, but who has the better upside? Khudobin has been pretty steady and has had a few games standing on his head too. As much as I hate to say it because I really like Cam, from a business perspective I think Khudobin is the one to stay and we should try to see what kind of trade value we can get for Cam.

One other point – dont look know but Cincy is sitting strong at 19-2 and ranked 13. Not sure where they are in the RPI – how does a road loss against Cincy help/hurt us in the RPI and strength of schedule? At the time, early in the year, none of us were sure how good/bad Cincy would be.

Cincy’s only 2 losses are to a New Mexico at 16-4 and a city rival Xavier at 15-5.

FYI, they did got to the monitor where Warren reached in and got elbowed. While I think the fouls were not called consistently (a virtual rape is not called and then they would call a foul for looking at someone) I do not believe the elbow was intentional nor flagrant.

Great game tonight, thoguht we played very well as a TEAM and everyone contributed with the little things that often dont show up a stat sheet or box score.

Thought Gott had a great game plan tonight and earned his pay. Looked like he had a plan and they executed.

As for the crowd, from the earlier thread, I thought the crowd was large and LOUD. I think it certainly helped and made a big difference.

As for the roads from the other thread, the roads were fine. I drove back from SC today and roads were fine all the way back. Roads were dry and a non-factor.

I love it how all of the UNX world is trying to ruin her credibility. She has nothing to gain and much to lose but is speaking up anyway. My favorite is how they claim they had no idea……until she produced the emails where she did send the information up the ladder. Caught in another lie, they are digging hard but just keep digging the hole deeper.

13OT, with all due respect in the last 4 seconds, with no TO’s, what did you expect us to do? The FT missed and the clock starts right away. We got the ball to the fastest player to get it upcourt, and really no chance other than a miracle shot.

Of course she questions the info. Rather than seeking the truth, dodge, deflect, and point fingers elsewhere. As the head of the school, one would think she would want the real truth but that is not the Carolina way.

Yosef, I also thought it was a travel. When the ref blew the whistle I thought for sure he was going to call the travel, but instead got the phantom foul.

The last dribble was at the 3 point line, then one two three and four steps until the release of the ball.

That also does not include the stutter steps before the last dribble when he is carrying the ball.

I am not blaming the refs for calling it one-sided, because both teams benefitted from phantom calls. But when the entire team is saddled with foul trouble, it greatly affects the way one plays/finishes the game.

Per the poll, who do I THINK will win or who do I WANT to win? The poll is want, but I would not bet the house on the Chargers. But I certainly clicked the button for the Bolts and Rivers.

The numbers Rivers has put up through the years are almost HOF caliber numbers, but the lack of a SB will surely hurt his chances. Right now, I would say he is out of consideration. A SB win would be huge for his career and legacy.

This one hurt, no doubt about it. This game was one that would have looked good on a resume for the NCAA. The key is dont let this game cost us another.

They hit some tough shots down the stretch and give them credit. Good players sometimes make good shots in spite of good defense. We still had our chance and missed the FT’s and our chance. Learn, grow, and move forward from the experience.

What is the problem here? Just move along and accept it. There is nothing to see here, everyone else is doing it so what is the problem? And in tribute to one of my favorite childhood friend Scooby Doo, “we would have gotten away with it too if not for those meddling (or tweeting) kids.”

Excited about the upcoming year but baseball is one of those funny sports where anything can happen.

Clutch hitting, pitching (especially out of the pen), and injuries can and will be the factors. Last year our hitting was poor but it seemed we were able to find a way in most cases to get the clutch hits. Pitching was phenomenal, and except for Turner early, we were able to stay mostly healthy. We went to Omaha as result.

UCLA on the other hand could not hit their way out of a wet paper bag, but outstanding pitching earned them the win. I still sit back and wonder what if, what if we could have gotten a clutch hit against them and advanced. I still say that should have been us in the championship.

Seems pretty simple – U*NX did not even apply to get him reinstated. Why? Seems to me like they found out a lot more than they wanted to admit, and a lot more that they did not want the NCAA to find out about.

Now, by throwing him off the team, he does not have to answer questions (a la Lance Thomas) as the NCAA does not have subpoena power.

I admit, I clicked and watched as much as I could before I had to turn it off. Hoping that maybe the clicks dont accumulate if turned off before the video ends (I know it gets a click anyway). We should not give clicks to this, just as we should NEVER click anything from Doyle.

The production was awful, the talking heads are atrocious, and the entire thing looks like a project a 7th grader would do for a video production class – and get an F. This is a joke and the ACC should be embarrassed by the level of ineptitude that could only be topped by the Wolpfack SID and/or Lee Folwer.

    Fight song without a doubt.

Although I must admit watching a game at Williams Brice and 2001 Space Odyssey was awesome the way the band played it. As a visitor, I was ready to suit up for the Garnet and Black.

Folks, we lost a game yesterday that we ahd in our grasp. We had a game plan that worked, and last I checked the game plan is done by the coach. I know people will say I am nuts, but so be it.

We lost the game for sevreal reasons, some of which were already written about. I will try to remind you why this game was lost.
    1. Fells TO and subsequent intentional foul and 8 point swing.
    2. Costner scored 0 points in the 2nd half’
    3. Fells scored 2 pts in the 2nd half
    4. Horner alligator armed 2 FT’s that would have put the game out of reach. Absolute choke job for an 86% shooter.
    5. McCauley got raped at the buzzer, but OK, officials do swallow whistles at that stage of the game.

Why was Gonzo in the game down the stretch? Mays was awful and Sid went with the guy who had performed better. Oh sorry, Wall or Lawson were not available, so he went with the best he had.

Why was Smith not in the game? Maybe his knee was hurting. Maybe he was getting abused on the D side of the ball and with the lead, Sid was trying to play better D as a team.

I dont know about Fergie or Thomas having academic issues, but IF Sid held them out for disciplinary reasons, good for him. Sticking to principles in spite of what people will say about him.

This team is getting better and improving. We have some tough losses, and I do not beleive in moral victories. There is no doubt in my mind Sid would beat Roy if Sid had Roy’s boys.
