No inning by inning updates today, but H8r got you covered on game summary. As PIR said, both pitchers took shutouts into the seventh inning. VT got the bases covered in the seventh with 1 out, but the Pack induced a inning ending double play to extend the shut out. In the eighth, with runners on first and third for the Pack, Evan Edwards hit a screaming grounder just out of reach of the first baseman to put the first run on the board. State then held on, with Joe O’Donnell coming in to get the last out with the tying run on second, to preserve the shutout and win, 1-0. Sixth straight ACC series win for the Pack should be movin on up again this week!

11-1 through 7. Piedmont loses the no hitter in the 7th, loading the bases, but escaped giving up only one run. Feeling safe with this one, H8r checking out. Get behind this team, they are for real!

Pack had runners on first and third top of sixth but a line out turned into a double play to end the top half. Piedmont still has a no hitter going through six. He is at about 80 pitches so don’t know how far he will go with an eight run lead, but he has dominated.

Pack tacks on another run in top of 3rd and gets into VT bullpen. Piedmont looks awesome through 3. He is 6’8″ 240 and has a no hitter going through 3. 4-0

Pack9 had a bad day yesterday. Scored two in the first, but gave up 8 runs in the third to lose 10-2. Need to win these next two vs VT to keep our spot atop the ACC and our top 10 ranking. Game 2 about to start at 4:00. I’m going to watch this one on the laptop. It’s great fun to follow this team. Anybody with me?

New rankings out now top 10 in all polls with a best of #6. I watched the Sunday game for the first time this year and it was a great comeback in the 8th. Two HR’s and a clutch double to knock in the go ahead runs. We’re getting into the meat of the conference schedule now and it will be fun following the team. It’s a chance for a conference championship if we can keep it going

Ever since the invention of digital networks I watch Pack9 religiously.

Oh yeah, Tar Holes are sucking

I nominate Pack o’ Mac. He’s obviously already got all of the right qualifications.

H8r checking in late had to watch on delay. I did go through and read every comment it was like re-watching the game.

    My thoughts:
*Allerick really wanted to win. Criticize him if you must for trying to do too much, but if we had 3-4 more guys to put their heart into it like he did we would have won.
*Yurt should have stayed on the bus.
*I didn’t want to believe it, but truthfully we kind of petered out at the end of the season. I think opposing teams caught up to us on solving the press and getting way too many easy baskets. We bragged about our conditioning, but from the GT game on we looked tried and slow, and our defense was too easy to solve.

I vote for BotB as SFN MVP of the year. Thanks BotB for keeping the game threads going, and for keeping them fun and informative. It was way more fun and positive this year, and we had a lot of good contributions. Thanks for the good times everyone!

Next year is going to be awesome-Football and Basketball. We are on a ROLL!!

No sign of a run in us. If we can win the next 4 minutes, at least we’ll have a shot. It’s not like we’re playing UVa here

Somehow…we have looked slow and tired the last three games. It ain’t over yet though. We took Louisville when it didn’t look good early.

Tried to post my key to the game before start but it wouldn’t go through. Turned out to be a blessing because I would have looked like a fool. This is not going according to plan, but I’ve seen us weather storms all year hope we can get through this one

Good call on Dorn, BotB. I was thinking who I would pick for MVP on this team. It’s not easy. I think it may be Allerick, even with the bad start, because he is our go to guy to get points. Yurt gets strong consideration. Some games he does it with points, some with defense or rebounding, some he is not too big a factor. But Dorn gets strong consideration too. Especially lately. He takes it to the rim like nobody else, gets rebounds nobody else can get to, and is the steady player we have to have to win. Markell has also arguably been our MVP many games. ACC leader in assists and he is the one running Keatts offense. Beverly as a freshman wouldn’t get MVP consideration but boy has he been important. It’s such a great TEAM, it is hard to pick who is more important. I guess that is why they have been so fun to watch and pull for. A true team. Keatts gets my vote along with the other two he received for making it all work. But I will say, this is not a rag tag bunch of nobodies, that is a strong starting five, with Abu, Freeman, Hunt, and Batts off the bench. I like our TEAM!
