If they are not punished appropriately, then stop playing UNCheat in all sports. Let the chips fall. Organize a petition, start a movement. We’ll flounder in a corrupt NCAA and ACC anyway, so why not go for it. If DY makes any public comment about how we should just accept it because we aren’t clean…and she is not fired…that’s it for me folks.

I sent DY an email yesterday morn, and got the same plastic response as above from her robo. 1) DY…you cannot POSSIBLY equate the Leak issue with decades of academic fraud, so that is just a giant excuse to do/say nothing (no balls). 2) Why wouldn’t you publicly question the legitimacy of the new NOA with no meat; if you wait until the dust settles, then don’t bitch when nothing happens to the Cheats (too late!), and the joke’s on us. Make some noise DY!!!! 3) That last ppg is the most laughable of all, maintaining OUR integrity has nothing to do with the UNCheat mess, unless we continue to play them. Aren’t we complicit if we continue to play their game? And in doing so, aren’t we sanctioning the NCAA’s handling of this by continuing to play the Cheats? Is keeping quiet so we don’t rock the boat and continue to generate precious revenues part of maintaining our integrity? Sanctimonious BS! And what good has come to us by maintaining our integrity when the NCAA is rotten to the core, as we know it is. Kill 2 birds with one stone, as I suggested in my email yesterday to DY, send notice to the Cheats and the NCAA (one and the same) that we will withdraw from all sporting events with the Cheats going forward. Take a stand and let the chips fall. What good has it been to sit back and get slaughtered by the cheats on an on-going basis while we “maintain our integrity”? So we can sleep an night? I would sleep better at night if DY would tell the Cheats they can shove those sham-ass banners right up their asses, and then tell NCAA they can find another guinea pig to play the Cheats, that from now on, we are playing teams who are more concerned with maintaining their integrity. See, if we put the pressure on now and let it build, the spotlight will get brighter on the NCAA to do something. Doing nothing will only encourage the NCAA to sit on their hands until it all just goes away. Ah hell, I know that’s just fantasy anyway.

All I can say is, if you’re waiting for the cheats to come out and label anything fraud or impermissible, or anything else for that matter, on their own…I hope you aren’t holding your breath. That will never ever happen. Roy has all but made sure of that with his comments.

I agree with rye^^ in that the packpride posters have a good idea imo. If commensurate penalties don’t come down on the cheaters, DY should write a letter to UNCheat AD, indicating our graceful departure from all sporting events going forward with the cheaters, as an on-going effort to maintain a higher level of integrity in both sports and academics at NCSU. We are not going to win under the ncaa-sanctioned Carolina way anyway…why not make the statement and hit them where it hurts! I would double my contributions to NCSU if that happened. Do something!! Sick of being the punching bag for the cheaters and their broad mote of corruption. Maybe I’ll start watching football and basketball again too.

I don’t know why anyone expected the NCAA to do much considering they are co-defendants in a lawsuit with UNC-CHeat. How can the NCAA punish UNC for academic “impermissible benefits” without opening the door for more athletes to sue them? The entire athletic department has been hit with LOIC, that is severe. I know old timers like me want revenge for what the UNC a-holes on the BOG and in the media did to our program years ago, but you also got to remember the NCAA did very little to us. I don’t fault the NCAA, I do fault the BOG, and that is where my anger and focus as been directed since this started. I am happy that UNC got tagged by the NCAA, and I live in peace knowing their alumni fan base lives in shame of what happened, their image is tarnished as long as Roy Williams coaches, and every kid that puts on the UNC uniform is well aware he/she wears the logo of a cheater!

You’re kidding, right? I’m an old timer too, and the reason the ncaa didn’t take steps against us is that we self-sanctioned with penalties more severe than necessary, even when the ncaa found that we were clean. That would never happen in the land of the cheaters, in fact, they will fight to the death even when they know themselves that they are a corrupt cheating bunch of ****heads. I fault the NCAA, the BOG, the SAC, and all universities who have been complicit by being quiet while the integrity of college sports is being systematically dismantled by this kind of fraud and cheating. Who besides the cheaters’ fans wants to watch that crap!?

Poetic justice. The refs were bad on several calls both ways, but otherwise let them play. It’s ironic how the cheats complain about refs UNLESS they are in their pockets!!! Tarholes always expect the refs to be Carolina fans, same with Dook. I for one saw that Vnova coach George Clooney called a genius play and you could see it develop in the last seconds…nothing accidental there as a clean untested 3 pointer took flight and dropped. That was great timeout mgmt, and execution like we haven’t seen at NCS in decades! Too much to hope that Gott picked up on any of these winning ideas though.

Gott can’t keep talent. Gott can’t develop (bigs). Gott can’t coach (clock, TO’s, execution, xo’s, FT%, FG%, live/mostly die by 3, on and on). Gott can’t develop a team atmosphere (worst issue imo). These are arguable points, especially to those who haven’t witnessed greatness. I feel excoriated by any comparisons between Jimmy V and Gott. I lost respect for Gott in the CJLeslie era, and the problems have only gotten worse since. And, nice work DY on giving the raise/extension, damn! It must be hilarious to the tarholes! We have serious problems, and recruiting will get even worse now. Gott has to go, unless we want to continue being beat up by the blues (and stripes).

They are playing so bad it’s hard to give a serious critique!!! Even still, they just can’t make anything happen under basket. Can’t even make clean passes. Committing dumb fouls and can’t shoot, even Cat cold!

OK, almost fell out of my chair laughing at DeNiro!! I don’t love Yow, I like her ok, and I think FB has a chance with Doeren. And she has been exceptional with non-revenue. I just can’t…with BB…I just can’t…

Wufpacker, I don’t disagree with most of what you said, even the GWilliams stuff, (although where there’s fire). I even recanted somewhat to say that I could be wrong about not wanting to coach for her (esp with the quick and early contract extns). And I can’t put my finger on the comments she’s made fast enough for this thread. I do think the OC fire was wrong, shoulda been the DC, or both if there’s something there I don’t know. I totally disagree Gott deserved any extensions/raises. Ive seen him mismanage and blow more leads and games in the last minutes of too many games to too many lesser teams for me to stomach watching that crap any more, so no, I wouldn’t give him anything but another year to pull off some kind of a miracle. Hindsight is not a luxury, it’s a tragedy to me. And if I made the $500k Yow was making, I wouldn’t be worried about luxuries anyway, especially if I was looking to retire in the next couple years or so. For what it’s worth, IMHO, the comments in these threads do no harm to recruiting at all. Watching the games and the coaching is another story.

Pakfanistan…Regarding D Yow; the Gary Williams thing, her controversial public comments, the letter, overall questionable decision-making, firing the OC instead of DC (whether or not it was her idea, it was at her discretion most likely), etc. Of course, one could argue, based on the Gott pre-season raise/contract extension last year, that someone might want to coach under her, so I could be wrong there.

Watched 2 games this year…the least since I was 8 and watching the championship in 74. It’s the hardest right now it’s ever been for me to be a Pack Fan, reference Football, Basketball, and to a lesser degree Baseball (they have done great but choked BIGTIME on several occasions resulting in just another colossal statesh1t letdown). We have talent come and go and no one here to inspire them to play above their expectations, and with heart. There are a few notable exceptions, of course. I see nothing with Gott, and haven’t for quite a while. He’s Gott to go. I’ll give Doeren a pass since he’s the newest but things went south fast last year! I see even less with D Yow at the helm. I’m not educated in the director’s area but If I were a major/winning coach looking for a change/challenge, I would NOT work for Yow. Sorry. I love NCState and have as long as I can remember anything but it is awfully hard to write those alumni/club checks every year when we have no ACC/NCAA championships to show for it…for many years! Shiny bricks, weight rooms, practice domes and jumbotrons aren’t bringing in the right talent, in both players and coaches. I don’t know if I’m alone on this but if so, so be it. I’ve seen us win National and Conference Championships. I was a student at NCState in the 80’s with Valvano, Sheridan, K Yow, etc. It could be that maybe my expectations are too high, and if that’s the case…what’s the point then anyway? I’m not into this for mediocre or less, which is what we gott now.

Better get rid of Hux quick, who wants to be OC following one that got fired for putting up 33 ppg and still cdnt get quality wins. How much will he have to spot the D for a winning conf run?

Not shown that they can improve with the multi millions handed too them over the last decade plus, so money is not the problem. Dyke still playn in Cameron and winning champs, hate the PNC and shd have never left Reynolds, nothing u can do bout that now, but prices that money won’t win champs alone. Money and minds and hearts do though. What do we need materially that we don’t have that would legitimately make a difference…other than coaches.

Recruiting will continue its nosedive and sports at NCState athletics will continue to decline under the current bball coaching and AD. Same will happen in fball if something not done about the DC, and OC not much better. Just calling it, can’t stand the mediocrity anymore and if we want greatness like we havr had before, better wake up. Need to get serious about it.
