Hey Deb, if you are reading, be sure to ask him how he managed to finish DFL in the CAA in defense this year, and what his plan to remedy that at NC state would be. Let us know what he says.

    amen, hallelujah

With zero inside knowledge, I don’t understand why the prevailing school of thought seems to be – Miller not interested and its onto to Keats. Where’s the f*&$%#g middle ground?

Either way if Keats ends up on the payroll I will without doubt hope he kicks ass, regardless of what I thought of the hire. Maybe he is the man! That mindset will go for 2 years then a 3rd year of wondering why and then we can go through three more years of this.

Unequivocally, the people in charge should get serious, stop rolling the dice and pay one of the top three candidates (Keats should NOT be in that list) enough to make them come to Raleigh with a smile.

Remember when I said “A or F” a few days ago??

We have already endured the Lowe and Gottfried eras. NO F-CKING MORE BULLSH-T. Get us a real coach, or turn in your retirement papers and go the hell home. I am 100% done with the power of positive thinking. This is the crucial moment of transition in the ACC, and we need to stake our claim with something REAL to back it up.

    does Woodson have veto power?

did it occur to any of the powers that be that have her run the search is a bad idea, since its more about avoiding egg on her face?

I have no freaking idea, beyond the vague sense that her hand was forced in firing MG to start with (which is NOT a unanimous insider read). Admin is hard to get a sense of, which I fear means “tuned out and trying to avoid any fallout.”

^ We could be taking heat off Arch (again) whilst his team plays. Builds the Sid/Gott love child’s public profile, too – so mutual benefit.

/I could be rationalizing as much as the wolves who say “who wants Arch anyhow?” but sticking with it until I get solid intel from the inside otherwise

There was never any reason to keep DY on once MG started his all-too-predictable spiraling. But NC State did the most NC State thing possible, of course.

Not panicking yet, like Cowdog. But Arch had better damned well happen. We are painted into a corner, I fear.

Oh, I’d take Arch all day and then some. We should have alumni selling kidneys for his salary fund, if need be.

The A-10 is at least a real league, is what Wade has going for him. He’s won a level above Chattanooga. And at multiple locations.

Wade and Keatts aren’t the only backup coaches in the world. Presumably, we paid this firm $90K so as not to be limited to coaches our donor base has seen and/or eaten hush puppies with.

Is Gov. Cooper trying to pander to the swing wolven vote?? Apparently his bracket has the Holes out in the Regional Final, and even Duke losing in Final Four!

/please note this is meant only in jest in silliness and not actual political discussion

UNC-W looked eerily similar to us. They hung with UVA’s “machine” much like we did earlier this year, and for similar reasons (UVA let us hang around by playing poorly). This has been Bennett’s most inconsistent team, and have been in a tailspin since the 2nd week of Feb.

Using a baby is a great way to bypass suspicion. The Cubans were RUTHLESS, don’t forget.

Organization, a balance between offense and defense.

Keatts just recruited a bunch of cast-off talent from high major programs and overwhelmed the low-major environs of the CAA. It’s still Guy Lewis “roll out the ball and see what happens” type crap.

There are intangibles beyond that…but really, that’s enough. He reminds me of what would happen if Sid and Gott had a baby, and he grew up to also be a basketball coach.

yeah, the Wildcats’ sphincters puckered up a bit.

In Collins’ halftime interview, he actually seemed like a normal human being. That kinda threw me for a loop.

In MY mind, Wade >>>> Keatts. Tons of reasonable candidates below his level. Below Keatts’ level?? I don’t have enough beer to think about that. But I’d rather give the job to Hodge, Vinny the Black, Moton, or someone randomly chosen from the phonebook before Keatts.

Not me making the decision, though, is it??

    /pray for Arch

Bjd – are you saying you don’t like Keatts or Wade?

Or are you saying they aren’t options post-Archie?

    Like Wade, despise Keatts.

Pretty sure I heard he made two game-changing steals in the Big East title game. STEALS. MG must just be responsible for everything that goes wrong. Pretty sure he must have been on the grassy knoll and took out JFK at this point.

Holtmann makes a lot of sense for IU. They’d like to see Butler knocked down a peg, too (though they’d never, ever admit it).

I’d still bet Arch to us if you put a gun to my head. But I absolutely HATE what I hear floated as the alternatives, so I am not encouraged.
