Buckeyes down10. Aubie salivating. Tigers and Noles would make for a great game for sure.

Yes, Mizzou has certainly earned their stripes in the best conference in the land, and I do enjoy watching them play. But was just more generally making the point that each and every weekend there are multiple competitive games of a national significance.

I will take SEC football over the field any day of the week and twice on Sundays. Yep, even Sundays. It is that good.

The ACC slate is awful tomorrow. Some pretty good games nationally. At least it is betterr than last week. Here’s what I will be watching:

    UGA/LSU
    Bama/Ole Miss
    Ohio State/Wiscy
    Notre Dame/Oklahoma

He’s bringing them in. But can he coach them? That remains to be seen.

BJD, they are exactly the type to say “Thank you sir, may I please have another.” F-that.

Is it just me when looking at Maryland’s state flag helmets that it looks like Friedgen just barfed up a jumbo-sized portion of lasagna on the helmet?

I didn’t realize this but after reading the paper this morning I learned we failed to score a field goal the last nine minutes of the basketabll game. That is extraordinary. I mean, you have to really work to do that. That is horrible and is the reason we lost the game. We also had about 8 turnovers down the stretch and we were torched on defense. That’s “coaching”. Not once did Sid call a TO to get in these guys faces like Greenburg did to his team. It worked for Greenburg. He won over his team AND the officials while Sid stood with his hand up his you know what.

The fact that some are coming out in defense of Sid after this game is crazy. There’s no sugarcoating it, this was his worst day as the head coach of the Wolfpack.

By the way, Thomas and Fergie did not play due to breaking academic disciplinary rules, for whatever it is worth.

^I agree, sitting Thomas all day and Smith in the 2nd half was mind boggling. An Fergie was a starter just weeks ago and now he doesn’t even see the floor. And Mays plays his ass off against Miami and hits the game winning shot and then he barely sees the floor today because Javi has all of his minutes. And on and on and on.

Lowe’s substitution patterns, or lack thereof, are about as predictable as the stock market right now. I said it after the NC Central game that it appeared we were back to square 1 with lineups as if it were the first game of the season. 20 games later, he still doesn’t have a clue. That’s very telling.

In no way, shape, or form is this program a performanced based entity, and that goes for the university administration as well. We’re pretty well screwed any way you cut it.

“We’ll need a whole lot more fans when we start making playoff games and winning championships with these two coaches, so why don’t some of you just wait and meet us there.”

Yea, maybe if we win a few more, we can contend for a Wild Card spot in the NFC…(sorry, I know I’m being an ass, but I’m in a really bad mood after watching that garbage today).

I think we ought to poll every mid-major coach in the land, and ask them if they’d be up for the job at NC State. I’d guess the overwhelming response would be “When do I start?”

This stuff about coaches not being interested in this job is, in a word, total horseshit. They are interested in this job just as they would be interested in a job at BC, or Miami, or Wake, or Clemson, or Virginia Tech, or Maryland, or Georgia Tech, or Virginia, or Florida State (you get the point).

This is the ACC, folks, and this job pays some damn good money. And right now we’re getting robbed.

“For those who are judging Lowe’s coaching from a game by game perspective, I think you guys are missing the big picture.”

Here’s the “big picture”. 79-228 NBA record. 11-29 ACC record.

Need I say more? This is getting ugly, folks. This program is on life support.

UNC didn’t take too long canning Matt Doherty even after he won 6 ACC games in his final year. Maybe we ought to take a page out of their book.

On second thought, nah, we wouldn’t want to strive for excellence. I mean, who does that around these parts?

“But, you are talking about canning a true NCSU fan/champion that cares more about this university and program than anyone of us on this blog.”

After today, I’d be delighted. I’ll even bring the papers and his big fat buyout check over to him. Where do I go? Just tell me where he is to sign and it’ll be a done deal by 8PM tonight. Hell, I’ll even arrange to call the AD over at St. Paul’s College and see if they are looking for a basketball coach. I would expect rejection, but will tell him he was a national champion while playing at NC State, and then it should be a done deal if St. Pauls’ standards are anything like NC State’s.

Today was an abject failure, a total mismanagement of the game and his roster.

Let’s just let the excuses for Sid keep on coming. Maybe in another 6 years he’ll actually learn how to coach. Hell it took him what, 20 years to get a college degree? Maybe he’s just a slow learner. But that’s ok, we like those types in Raleigh. We welcome those folks with open arms and there will always be a place for them in our family.

Sid’s managemnt of the roster, as well as the game today in the 2nd half, was just painful and is why he doesn’t have anything to say on the radio. He knows it. Greenburg abused him today for plain viewing.

I’ll say it again. When you are up 18 points in the second half, there is ZERO excuse for losing. The officiating was clearly bad. I am not debating that. But we put ourselves in the position to lose the game because we failed to execute on offense. That was it.
