Pick of the litter? No way. Wasn’t a great job even without the sanctions. And outside of Ohio State and maybe Michigan there are no great jobs in the big 10.

Penn State will hire Schiano if O’Brien heads to the NFL. Lol. Perfect fit. Two giant a-holes! I haven’t ever heard a positive word spoken about Schiano, player or coach. He has a terrible rep.

Holy smokes, Black Monday is in full effect:

    Shanahan
    Schiano
    Schwartz
    Chudzinski
    Frazier

And of course Houston is vacant, though it looks like Penn State’s O’Brien may be hired there.

    Could there be more?

Blaming refs just serves as an excuse. Good teams don’t need to make excuses. As others have stated, you have good ones and bad ones. And even the good ones screw up here and there. It is a fact of life. Better learn to deal with it or get used to making excuses. That is not the kind of team/program I care to follow. Make your own luck through good solid play for 40 minutes.

Congrats to Rivers and the Chargers.

All I can say about the Panthers is, wow. What a team. Best defense in the league. And Cam is playing really good football. I can see this team going all the way.

I also do not see us as a tourney team. At least not as it stands today. Going to have to play very well in conference to have a shot.

Tough loss to a good team. We played well. Still can’t seem to get over the hump against the Top 25. We can be a good team but not quite there yet.

Huge Panther fan here. They’ve had much more relative success than I’ve seen from Wolfpack football. Looks like they are in for a playoff run this year. Beat the Saints today and could be in store for a 2 seed.

Stats can paint a picture in different ways. We weren’t competitive in 4-5 games, in which the outcome was decided by the half. That is a problem. It will change in due time.

Texas can outbid Bama. You can take that to the bank. There is a reason Saban has yet to sign he extension. Bama is very nervous he wants the Texas gig. It is pretty obvious he does.

Petersen showed a bunch of interest in the UCLA and USC jobs, but U-Dub fits him perfectly. Not a glamor boy, and recruiting in some of the same territory. Word is it wasn’t even an interview when the AD and Petersen met, they both wanted the other.

As for Saban, what else can he do at Bama? Sometimes, you just get the itch to challenge yourself and do something new. He can rebuild Texas in no time and retire on the upswing. His system is tried and true, and much easier to win in Big 12 than the SEC. He would own that conference. Plus, Austin ain’t a half bad town. Yea, you’ve got to please the Misses first. I’m sure all the cash coming his way will go a long way.

It is so obvious there is no point in not announcing it. Ga Southern isn’t preparing for Pete, put it that way.

Saban has a contract extension sitting on his desk – it has gone unsigned for several days. I do believe it is real (his interest in Texas).

Art Briles might be a good fit at Texas as well.

Well, the ACC is about to get a national champion, and Louisville joins next year with Charlie Strong (still) at the helm, unless Florida fires Muschamp. So with FSU, Clemson, and Louisville, well, this ain’t the Sun Belt. In fact, it is pretty darn strong.

In regard to Wake, it is more about the academic focus. Clawson has done it at academically oriented schools, albeit not at this (ACC) level. The MAC has long been a breeding ground for ACC coaches. Grobe was from Ohio. Doeren drom NIU. Not sure what else Wake would have been looking for.

This is good stuff, and shows me he “gets it”. Really pulling for him to succeed as I do very much like him.

Did you folks see Wake is hiring Clawson from Bowling Green, who knocked off NIU in the MAC title? Good coach. Bright mind from Williams College. Head coaching jobs at Fordham and Richmond. Was OC at Tennessee. Good hire.

Notice how quickly schools are now moving to hire with the new recruiting calendar. It took U-Dub what, 2 days to hire Petersen from Boise State?

I have really enjoyed watching this TEAM this year. Barber is an amazing talent, and Vandy has been a pleasant surprised. I am happy to see it. I still don’t expect too much out of this team, but hope to be proven wrong. Right now I see us as NIT material with a small outside chance of an at large bid. But that is why they play the games as they say. Need to try to get at least 2 of these three and hope for a solid run in conference play.

Bucks come all the way back. We are tied at 17.

Duke getting smacked around and still without a point. FSU is dangerously solid at every position. And Jimbo just got a contract extension. FSU will continue to be a load for us in the years ahead.

Buckeyes mount a formidable comeback and now just stand a score behind Sparty at the half.

Duke is no match for the Noles. Will get ugly late. Boy do the Noles lay a lick on folk.

Looks like SEC will get a chance to make it eight in a row. It won’t be easy as the Noles are a machine. But Aubie just seems to have “it”. Making quite a run.
