If we shoot 35% in the first half instead of 25%, it’s a ball game. We missed a lot of easy easy shots.

I still think this team will continue to develop. We can still play our way onto the bubble. Most objective analysis before the season had that as our ceiling. That’s why the “Gott can’t coach a lick” mantra rings a tad hollow with me.

We need somebody who can actually shoot the basketball. This is pathetic.

We have a chance to get this to a5 point game at the half.

TJ ended up three fett out of bounds due to a shove on that follow.

Dez can be the lockdown defender at times to keep Lewis on the floor more.

I ran the last 22 miles of a marathon on a torn meniscus, so a bruise won’t keep Anya off of the floor today. UNC-CH has been playing better which is what really bothers me about the match up. A win today and we will set ourselves up for a couple of weeks of bubble talk at the very least.

Agreed VaWolf. The last team is is basically the winner of the Fat Chick Bikini Contest.

With two game left against an improving UNC-CH we may end up with the remaining schedule being equally as difficult as the competed portion was.

A win on Saturday and we will move squarely onto the bubble.

He was called for a foul when his chin hit the FSU player’s elbow. I guess he was just luckie

His chin hit the FSU player’s elbow when he reached in with both hands to try to wrestle the ball away from him and got a whole lot of Seminole arm in the process. The only questionable foul on Warren last night was the offensive foul. He never extended his arm/elbow and from the angles I saw he didn’t lower his shoulder either. TJ doesn’t play smart with foul trouble. He could do better in that area.

Great effort tonight. The three guard line up to burn clock and manufacture some points was the key to the win.

If you watched our half court offense tonight you could really see that the newcomers are starting to get comfortable with how things are supposed to work.

Freeman did an awesome job in the first half when we had Vandy and Anya both out. That guy never takes a play off. Neither does Dez.

Win this and we can have a bubble dream until at least Saturday. If we lose this one the goal will be to avoid Wednesday at the ACCT and try to make the NIT.

This team won’t win an NCAA Tournament game and probably has about a 3.78% chance of even making the tournament, but I’m not despondent over what I see.

    1) A highly touted freshman PG who is in over his head and taking his lumps but who works hard on the defensive end even when he’s struggling to make a basket.
    2) A trio of freshman bigs one of whom has out performed expectations while the other two have shown steady improvement. They all play like freshmen at times.
    3) A pair of transfers who have flaws (that’s why they are transfers) but have started to figure out how to fit in. One of them is clearly the emotional leader of the team.
    4) A fifth year senior having by far his most productive year
    5) A highly touted sophomore whose physical limitations are limiting his effectiveness and playing time
    6) One of the best scorers in the country, who manages to put up 20 points/night in spite of his complete lack of a perimeter shot.

I consider this Gott’s transitional year because of all of the player turnover. We need shooters badly. If we play like this next year we should all be deeply concerned about Gott but this is not a bad result for this collection of parts.

Agreed Alpha. I always thought hybrids were about the extension of the world’s oil supply until hydrogen technology was viable. In other words it’s a bridge technology. The longer we hold onto our current vehicles, the more likely we are to buy a hybrid the next time we buy.

If SNC needs any office space near JSC, there’s about 3 different 4-5 story buildings standing totally empty after the shutdown of the shuttle program. NASA is a shell of what it once was and will never make a comeback. I could see it dissolved altogether in 15 years.

I think Turner, Washington, and Anya have all improved over the course of the season. Freeman seems stuck. I think the fact that he just turned 18 is finally catching up with him. The real key will be to see if our defensive consistency can improve. Maybe the zone will give us a way to allow a lot fewer drives to the hole. The free throw performance drives me nuts. If you are going to be a team that goes to the basket a lot and doesn’t shoot threes well, you just have to make 70+% your free throws.

Turner scored on a couple of “Scott Wood” plays yesterday. That tells me he’s learning how to get open within the parameters of this offense.

I like Anya, but today I couldn’t figure out why Gott stayed with him so long and kept Vandy on the bench. Anybody see something I didn’t with respect to his play today. I thought we got killed even worse on the boards when he was in the game.

I asked for a lot more Lewis in the second half and he certainly played a big part in turning the game around.

I’ll take any conference win we can get any way we can get it. This team shows flashes of being able to play solid defense. If we had only rebounded better today our defense would have seemed a lot better than it did.

Don’t bitch about the refs when you can’t even make free throws. They’re just helping us avoid embarrassment

Get Vandy in the game a get a rebound. We have lost this game on our defensive glass. The MOST important part of defense is rebounding the miss.

The way you score when the refs are allowing a lot of contact in the lane is to have more than one guy who doesn’t look like a brick mason from beyond 10 feet. We are a horrible perimeter team. Other teams know this and clog the lane.

The team that drives the ball is getting their asses handed to them on their defensive glass. That is how GT got their FTs. We should have shot a few more.
