Kirk’s PT will only increase next year – second year in the system, he’ll hit the weight room and get stronger, team needs a slasher/driver. He’s not going anywhere.

Pack killing enough clock to ice this one. Congrats, guys… Didn’t think you’d get one this season. Shame on me…

Great effort today. Proud of the fight. Can’t play 6 on 10 for 40 minutes and expect much more, especially when 7 of their 10 are burger boys…

Ya know how it feels under your feet when the ice starts cracking?

Yeah, but it’s cracking about 25 minutes later than I figured it would !

It may go to hell in a hand basket in the second half – most likely will. But I’m damned proud of the heart and fight shown in the first half.

I hate to say this, but as much as Roy likes beating NC State, he won’t allow his guys to do what they are capable of doing Saturday. I think he’ll limit the carnage to the 30 point range and sub freely afterwards.

Realistically, they should ring up triple digits, while holding our guys to less than 50…

No flak from me – I agree. He’s doing what he has to do, because the coaching staff hasn’t done its duty to prepare the other players to contribute.

Maybe it’s an indictment of AAU ball, or high school ball, or both, but I am dismayed as a life-long rec ball player who coached several years in my sons’ youth ball leagues. I didn’t play in the NBA, or even college. Yet, I get extremely frustrated at the lack of fundamental basketball being displayed on the court over the last several years.

I guess “modern” basketball is slamming down thunderous dunks or jacking up threes, period. I don’t see any ball movement, any player movement, any pick and rolls, any low block post ups, no drop steps, no back door cuts (or even back screens), and very few attempts at a high-low post up with our bigs.

I don’t see how scholarships can be given to players that don’t know how to play the game, how these kids arrive on campus with no knowledge of fundamental offensive moves/principles, and how they can make it to the beginning of the season without being taught or expected to display said fundamentals.

Leads to a “game” that is not worth watching.

You either luck into a group of athletic freaks, or you have to coach your ass off. This year, we have the privilege of watching Cat Barber. What he is doing is simply phenomenal. That may be all we get.

Absolutely love Cat Barber. Dude brings it every night, even knowing he’s playing with four crash test dummies….

Three bigs = 7 fouls in 19 minutes.

    Second half should be ugly

In 2:15, Abu missed three shots, traveled, and committed 2 fouls. Basically took himself right out of the game.

    Thanks, Booboo…

Hope he gets picked up and shines at the next level. Can’t blame him – why stick around if the coach isn’t going to use him ?

In year five, a coach’s season shouldn’t hinge on one player, especially a transfer whose impact is unknown. Skin-of-your-teeth is no way to build a program…

    More NCSU mediocrity

Hard sell to a recruit, especially a multi-star – “Come to NC State and aspire to be mediocre !”

Really tired of the same old mid-to-lower tier results in both football and basketball year after year, decade after decade. None of our players was alive the last time State was relevant in either sport. Hell, many of our coaches weren’t, either, it’s been so freakin’ long…

    Just weary of the futility
