YOW, Don’t fire anybody. Scour D1 for a young, seasoned assistant coach(s) that has a reputation for all things defense. Give them the authority and half the practice time to install the press, man to man, zone, rebounding and any crazy — junk defenses they can dream up. This team will have ELEVEN decent players next season. Defense and offense should be balls to the walls. Anya should spend the summer with Todd Fuller and whoever summer coached Todd in Charlotte. Christinsen?? Can’t recall the name. Fix the defensive side of the house and have 7 – 12 of DD’s fastest fb players come in so our team learns how to handle a press. 7 on 5. And I’m not joking, if there is such a thing as a free throw coach, hire his — too.

JK, I’m not that high. In an off season where Cam should be doing run for your life sprints every day, he is out 4 months due to ankle surgery. A perpetual area of weakness loses 3 players. Will be interesting to see this play out.

Vegas line St. Louis -3.0, smart(stupid) money had Xavier -3.5 at game time. As stated above, I don’t like media heads jumping on our wagon. We only have room for one, Kristine. Anybody with an opinion on crowd makeup? Not that it seems to matter for State.
My Xavier preview request was granted when State took the lead three minutes into the game and never gave it up. The Charlotte Observer called the win a trouncing. Tonight, I would like Cat to sport the Samurai ponytail which is where he currently hides his switchblade. It used to be in his sock per Bill. I want Cat to go off with defense, assists and 20 or more points. I know, I’m greedy but I want Cat to be a huge part of this run. 7:20 can’t get here fast enough. Go Pack!!
I am thankful that State got in the tournament. Survive and Advance has always been a fine mantra but what would I not give to see our team take Xavier by the throat and mop the floor with them. When is the last time State beat a very good team from start to finish and by a wide margin without any hotdogging slide back. I enjoyed our victories over Duke and UNC last year but the single digit final margins were not reflective of how we had control of those games. I know State belongs in the field but I want every March Madness viewer to know it as well. Destroy and Advance. Mental and Physical toughness for 40 minutes. I apologize for the caffeine induced rant. I want to see more victorious reaction videos for a deserving group of kids. Go Pack!!
I was sorry to read about the numerous injuries that depleted our starters. Here’s to a speedy recovery for those that are out for the post season and for those trying to carry on. We are pulling for you. Go Pack!!
IMO, the only way the NIT would be beneficial to this team is if they could win it all without the services of TJ Warren. Over the past month or so many posters stated that this team could only beat the crap teams but the NIT would be very important for us. Why? The opportunity to play more crap teams??? This team will need to learn how to play without Warren anyway. Might as well start now. I imagine TJ has a huge insurance policy right now for any career ending injuries. He has nothing else to prove. I wouldn’t risk a blown out knee for the NIT participation ribbon.
