Finish no worse than 10-2 and I will be all for an extension. I would anticipate a drop-off after this season and if the best you can put together is 9-3 or 8-4, meh…
Same ol same ol. I just appreciate them blowing it out the gate so we can get the stup I’d hype out of the way. SPOILER ALERT: We win 6 or 7 games and go to a crappy bowl.
I’ve mentioned it in previous posts. NC State seems to be one of the top Division 1 schools in college athletics at obtaining dubious honors. My question is, how does this happen to us constantly? We all see the same things year in year out. This Clemson game just ticks me off even more. I thought we were pretty dominant against them, and had we sent out solicitations for and suited up almost any previous high school kicker enrolled at State, Clemson would not have been playing for a national championship. But not a big deal, we lost a close one to the eventual national champions. That said we barely made a bowl game and lost to BC who was horrible. I look at the last basketball game, 51 point loss, after beating VT handily.
It’s more than inconsistency. You lose games you should win, ok. But we do it in such grandiose manner. Is someone paying our athletes to have horrible games randomly to an embarrassing degree? It would make more sense to me. Again, it’s not the upsets, it’s how bad they are. Is there a curse lingering over our campus? Should we consider an exorcism? Some black magic?
I graduated NCSU in 96. I used to be a big sports fan, but work, kids, life in general has curbed a good bit of my fandom for all sports. My son, who I unfortunately raised as a Pack fan, has really been calling me out lately and questioned my support of the Pack. It’s games like these that continue to dilute my interest in all things Pack. It’s not enough that we can’t ever seem to get over the hump in any of the big 3 sports, but we are constantly adding humiliating, embarrassing losses along the way. The kind of games where you want to take off any State apparel so nobody will strike up a conversation. I’m not talking about losing. Losing to Carolina in Chapel Hill was a high probability, but to lose by 50? I mentioned years ago we are always up for dubious honors. I believe we are still one of the only ACC programs to lose to ECU basketball. I quit watching 5 minutes in. I knew it was going to be embarrassing, didn’t realize it was possible to lose that bad though. I don’t care about firing MG. It’s obvious we can’t do any better. We haven’t done any better for the past 30+ years. Basketball, football, doesn’t matter. Not looking forward to trying to find Yow’s replacement. Not looking forward to finding Doren’s and Gottfried’s replacements. Not really looking forward to anything Pack related. Women BB seem to be doing well. About the time you think they’ll have a great year they’ll lose to Barton College by a gazillion. NC State, always winding up to deliver another gut punch to its fans.
Can we pay cash under the table to the highest ranked kicker coming out of high school…and completely kick this guy off the campus?
I used to tell my players when things didn’t look good, if nothing else, hit’em hard. Let’em know we would knock the hell out of you. Let’em know they were in a football game. There seems to be an emphasis on hitting hard…and it may be why we are doing so well.
Looking like ECU really got up for the Pack, as they haven’t won since. We were their game of the year. Them folding afterwards is really making us look awesome. SC is not very good this year. VT who knows.
Want wate another minute on this team…DD has completed the 1st half of the equation that guarantees your departure…
Always an uphill battle for the Pack. This freshman class is not the biggest concern for the future of DD and the Pack. It’s going to be what the next QB does. If he’s a flop, look for a transition from solid 2016 class to mediocre 2017 class and continuing spiral downward.
