fwiw… the same thing… occurs occasionally with new comments on existing threads… ( submit the form… page changes… but everything is lost in WP cyberspace… and doesn’t show up on the live forum…
my thinking is there’s something that set’s the post status to ‘pending’…
for example… some embedded codes and the anti-spam scripts..
or if there’s a timer on the forum edit box… it could have timed out… and caused the same thing…
sometimes if you’re composing in the forum edit box… and get distracted… it could sit there open for a while….this one was ‘cut and pasted’ from NotePad… so idk…

We wouldn’t want anyone to get blamed for deleting or blocking a post or comment when it was really a bug in the script… might lead to name-calling and such…

1. 50% of the voters haven’t seen CUZ play more than two or three games… but two of those are ‘Cuse and VaTech…
2. with expansion… 60% of the voters don’t live in North Carolina….
4. there are four name at the top of the list… (not in any order) CUZ, Paige, the kid from Pitt and Parker…
5. The kid from Pitt is the longshot….
6. Split vote… from one to four … it’s something like 40% , two thirty-somethings (%) and a mid twenty(%)…
As mentioned above somewhere I’m sure….
It all comes down to three things ….First, CUZ needs to get thirty AND State beats BC by double figures Sunday…
But what happens Sat night… may have already determined the outcome…
If Paige gets less than 15 and *NC loses… Paige drops one notch…
If Parker gets in foul trouble and gets less than 15… regardless of who wins.. Parker drops a notch…If both…. it’s could be CUZ’s to lose on Sunday…
And if it’s one of those 95-93 winonthelastshot games… and if either Paige or Parker have career games and his team wins… that kid is gonna be tough to beat…

When Mike Krzyzewski took over at Duke in 1980, he challenged Dean like no one else had. At Duke in ’84, Dean sent a sub to the scorer’s table, but the horn didn’t sound at the next break, and the refs didn’t wave the sub in. Dean ran down to the table and tried to sound the horn himself. Instead he banged the scoring button, and 20 points popped up on the Tar Heels’ side of the scoreboard. The Duke fans went nuts. Dean somehow avoided a technical. Carolina won. Afterward, Krzyzewski complained about “the double standard that exists in this league.”
I guess someone, somewhere, might suggest that Coach Rat showed some people how to fix the problem…even if it took about twenty years…
By the way… ya’ll heard, Coach Rat got a little dizzy on the bench last night watching while those Baptists wrought righteous indignation on his kids… I know everybody at SFN…joins me in hoping whatever caused that was truly the Deacs fault…
At age 67… one never really knows for certain about those kinds of things…

The “worst sports experience’ I had during my four years at NCState was…
when I broke my left wrist playing basketball in Carmichael gym my sophomore year…The second was losing to Al Wood and *NC in the ACC tournament in ’75…
Mr. Dog… What WAS that blond chick’s name ?? … the one who cost us THE tournament and the dance ticket…IIRC… that was the only time we lost to the Dean and the Holes…
Then…
… there was the ’76 Peach Bowl… against Bobby Bowden && West Virgina… it was 25 degrees and cloudy in Atlanta Fulton County Stadium… had to watch the second half from the motel room…… Junior year… my HS buddy… the walk-on starting punter blew his knee out and never played again…
… Junior year, again… we had to watch Stoddard and Dempsey pitch the entire ACC tournament at Doak-Campbell because for whatever reason we had no bullpen…
… It was cold as dogSh%t every winter… standing in line in front of Reynolds to get sideline seats for basketball games…
Oh yeah… Times were tough back then… on and off the field….
…sixpack of Bud or Schlitz cost a buck eighty seven, smokes were 35cents a pack, gas was a buck a gallon and twenty bucks might last all weekend if you didn’t have more than two dates…
But somehow we managed to graduate.
Oh…if the rest of you guys knew what Mr. Dog and I knew….

4. && we have three kids scoring double figures…IF we do three out of four above && if the opponent has a bad game…
we might win one or two games…IF we can do all four — three games in a row…
we can win the Tournament…(last minute — heroics, miracles && #NCStateSh%t notwithstanding)
&& IF…
CUZ has to do it ALL…
OR…
we see a ‘bunch of guys in Red and White on the floor all doing their thing’ instead of our ‘TEAM’…we’ll be riding east down I-40 quickly…

Nobody reads the Technician except students… right ?
Nobody really cares what the Technician prints (online or otherwise) except 10% of students — 10% of the time…right ? In other words, nothing’s changed since you and I were at State….Truth is… all negative feedback from alums, especially old ones.. has nothing at all to do with the Technician and the DTH and everything to do with living in a world that in few ways resembles the world one grew up in….
I wonder if Mr. DeGrave thinks his “Response” will end his time in the “Nineth Circle” or if being smarter than he looks…
The deal really works like this…
1. I’m graduating this spring..
2. I have no good job prospects in journalism….because nobody reads my paper…
3. The DTH the way it’s been done… is a piece of archacic Sh%t… we could do better but why bother… nobody is reading my paper ??
3. While nobody’s looking … the DTH get’s postponed… not “cancelled”
4. I know there’s probably a sh%tstorm coming…but lots of people will see me at my best as I masterfully handle the sh%tstorm…. especially the social media side…
5. And my name goes up in lights as a young journalist with a bright future…
6. Two – three weeks later… I show how I can be flexible and compromising, and bring diverse people together by publishing the “love version” of the DTH
7. I get guys like Mr.Plywood and bill.onthebeach to be guest contributors..
8. Technician circulation and online clicks triple overnight…
9. Advertisers follow readers and for the first time in twenty years.. the Technician is actually financially self supporting…

Complete with a formal ‘burying of the hatchets (with red and blue full size axes )’ with Drs. Folt and Woodson leading the procession…
And Proclamations by the Governor Pat and the General Assembly proclaiming “peace, harmony and cooperation” throughout the 100 countries and their surrounds…
And a BOG proclamation allowing students from either campus to attend classes on the other campus for full academic credit absolutely free of charge.
They could give us all a dollar for each piece of our hate (the other school) swag…( bumper stickers, cups, t-shirts, caps, etc… ) if we turned it in to the Hate Police…. and use the proceeds for weekend sensitivity and 12 step workshops for old wolves and old heels who just can’t give up their A%%hat ways…
And of course it wouldn’t be complete… if EVERYBODY didn’t hold hands and sing KUM-BY-YA lead by James Taylor on the main stage!
