I look for this game to get out of hand fairly quickly. Our guys psyche is pretty fragile after the Pitt 2nd half debacle, and it won’t take much for ND to break their spirit tonight.

Also, if Cat struggles, I expect to see a ton of minutes from TL.

I know what you are saying Bill. I did think long and hard about posting something like this. I guess my frustration with the situation finally got the best of me. I think we could be a decent team, but we really need a solid contribution from Lewis.

I just read this guy’s bio. In addition to having impeccable credentials, he has no apparent dog in this fight. No one can accuse him of any sort of bias. This could turn into something big.

Hopefully flying back to SF and then returning east for an early game will take some spring out of their step. I think the Panther’s D dominates again. The only thing that concerns me about SF is they are a much more dangerous team with Crabtree back in the lineup. Kap now has three credible passing threats to go along with the run game. The Panthers really need to keep up the pressure all afternoon.

Not to put words in CD’s mouth (which would be very difficult anyway), I think he’s saying you can’t as in no 18 year old is willing to listen as opposed to you can’t can’t. It’s much more fun working on highlight reel dunks than mundane things like free throw shooting and man D.

Great assessment Whiteshoes. You captured the essence of this team perfectly. 13 games into the season, and the team still hasn’t figured out the zone. Unfortunately you need to be able to score from outside to discourage zone defenses, and other than Turner (and Cat from time to time), we have nobody. I thought Dez might help in that area, but it doesn’t look like that will happen.

Collegiate Baseball had us #11 preseason last year. Baseball America had us #8.

Adventuroo, the noise level must have been different in different sections. I was in the lower level just off center court, and it seemed liked there were 90% Wolfpack fans, and got pretty loud, especially in the end of 1st half run. I didn’t notice or hear much from the Pirate fans.

I do know Beejay saved our asses this game. The team was going nowhere and sinking fast until Anya came in. He gave a real energy lift, and refused to let ECU get a shot at the basket. I don’t think we win this game without him.

While I feel badly for Hairston, I feel nothing but unadulterated disdain and loathing for that miserable excuse of an athletics department. I honestly feel they should have been given the death penalty for their countless rules infractions. Phantom classes, players with agents, coaches acting as runners for agents, free cars, gifts from agents, tutors doing players’ work for them. I mean, what does it take ?

I feel badly for the kid. What he did should have been worth a few games but not the whole season. Lying to the NCAA was his ultimate undoing.

He broke the rules no doubt, but man the NCAA has some lousy rules.

Too late. I’m pretty certain we have stopped recruiting Clark.

And I wouldn’t call the front court thin – Caleb and Cody Martin, Beejay Anya, Kyle Washington, Lennard Freeman, and Abu. That is six solid front court guys in 2014. I like it!!

Throw in Lewis, Cat Barber, Trevor Lacey, Dez Lee, and Ralston Turner as ball handlers, and that is a really promising team.

I have assumed TJ will be in the bigs next year.

Three transfers, a couple of really good recruiting classes, and whammo – we have ourselves a deep, talented team. Great job by the coach.
