ParticipantI’ not sure is I made my point or the reason for the post.
When the whole cheating thing was FINALLY (at the behest of UNC and their “non designated UNC Chapel Hill Fund Excess Earnings” slush fund) put into proper perspective…..Dean Provost Dean or whoever….
FIRED JAN. They took down her name from the Ethics Department website. He Email was Killed. She had NO access to the UNC system. She was OUT.
Then she appealed. Then she decided to RESIGN. Yes, she will get a pension….and I have NO idea….but she does NOT deserve ONE farthing of it….she perpetuated and “improved” a system of academic fraud….
I don’t give a rodent’s anus about WHO knew WHAT and WHEN they KNEW….she did this for MOST of her career. If I were in charge…I would recalculate her benefits…and she only get retirement for the years in which she did NOT participate in the “scandal”.
Then, let her hire an attorney….she DOES need Joe Cheshire….but as Bob Lee says….there are even clients that HE will not represent….and she if probably one of them.
What we are FINALLY seeing….although it is being done in a nuclear blast and bungled manner, is the UNC BOG exerting some control. Tom Ross should (he did) known what was going on.
As much as I disagree, politically, with Skipper….he would have cleaned house ONCE this came out. Head (tenure) would have rolled. He seems to be a politically misguided, but basically an honest person.
We need HIM back (did I type that?)!!!! The Libs could NOT scream and he would be the Hatchet that was needed….
Dean Smith set this up….there is MORE than a “trail” directly to him. It is a CLONE of the UK system. Wayne Wells (Roy’s Academic guy) had “improved” the UK system. When he got to UNC…it was like…WOW….they have made some changes…but I can REALLY “amp it up” and he did.
He was the FIRST to exit….but the smell was so bad that it did not go away.
This is a disgrace to NC and we taxpayers…..and, yes, being a State fan, I do get some satisfaction. BUT, the NCGA and the UNC BOG should be calling for major changes….OPPS….even some of the NCGA that are of the CURRENT party went to UNC….
Wonder how that will play out from Murphy to Manteo??

ParticipantWOW…..what a great take on the game. After it last night, I had my double Crown and went to bed…
I can relate to a lot that was said here. I kept thinking that Clemson was trying to “outdo us”. The OutWolfPacking the WolfPack line was great.
I also have not read the obvious comparison to Herbie and Mikey’s clashes. I remember (funny, when you are there….you have a MORE intense or etched memory than watching it on TV) an ACC Title game where we had Duke on the ropes. Mikey brought in JJ as in a White Version of DeVoe and he did his David routine and took us down. Herbie was asked WHY he did not change defenses or run a “junk” defense to prevent that…and answered….”We NEVER practiced that….” Last night was almost a Deja Vu….or maybe more of a DeVoe
Gott, at least, did figure out HOW to keep DeVoe from carving us up and us looking like Leroy Brown….after making a pass at a jealous man’s wife.
So, at least we DID have a plan. As the old song goes….”T>I>M>E WAS (OK, IS) on our side……”
But, we survived and advanced….(if you missed that one….your credentials will be withdrawn).
Caulton Tudor has a pretty good take on it….
http://www.wralsportsfan.com/logic-says-pack-is-safe-but-gottfried-obviously-wary/14490143/
Meanwhile….the Greensboro Coliseum is only partially lighted. Wonder WHY they have not fixed the switch gear issues that have plagued it. BUT, as long as they keep my 50 Amp MH service going….I will be there.
My takeaway is two things…..I KNEW it was going to be a tight game. Why….
Simple. Gott got TOO Cocky. He wore that Idiotic White and Blue Checked shirt and Lutz was in Light Blue. Think I am paranoid….NOPE….we always lose or have a rough time when they and the other coaches forget….”we’re the RED and White from State and we know we are the BEST…..”
But, if you want something different…..how about the Turn Overs….we had a lock on them. Had that been controlled, the Clemson’s drought would have lead to a 25 – 30 point deficit….
SO, we won….and as Jimmy V said….Ugly W’s are worse than a boat load of Pretty L’s….or something to that effect.
GO PACK…..
Adventuroo
ParticipantWow….this has morphed a bit….
So, since YOU guys brought it up…..
First, the Plaque. Personally have NO problems with it. Doeren has a knack for simple statements. Jimmy V was the king of oneliners….mostly comic…but just as pointed and direct as Coach D. He also used the “Dream Room” as a motivational technique. That was cited as a “mind altering” technique by NEW chancellor Monteith and the Faculty Senate passed (hands wrings and singing 60’s folks songs) resolutions admonishing him for it.
Meanwhile, they, and their counterparts today….preach a swill that would lead to destruction of the individual. Remember it takes a “VILLAGE” to achieve….Fill In The Blank.
As to putting it up. DO IT. When you achieve something that is both a personal and team goal….then as a wise sage said….Not brag….just a fact.
I once took a stand and told a plant manager that he was not really on board for our safety program…and then there was a severe accident. Standard protocol was a full audit by a “take no prisoners” corporate team. I told him to shut down the factory for two hours….on a department by department basis and I would “arrange” for a pass on the audit. If not, I would be the lead auditor and his lack of support would be a topic when we discussed whether to retain him or replace him. Now….I did NOT have that much power….but he chose not to call my bluff. Later on, at every Corporate Safety meeting, I was asked to “make some remarks” about “how we became the top rated Division” and how “I shut down production”. When you achieve something….it can be used as a motivator to continue to achieve and also improve.
As far as the “chicks” and other comments….one has to look at the ENTIRE UNC system and what our “esteemed” BOG members and the Administration have “changed”. NOW, there are “Diversity” criteria. So, if a female with almost 1400 on her SAT’s wants to get into UNC and she is from Wake County….forget it. The “Rules” do not allow it because they only accept so many from Wake and she is not near the top of her ethnicity quota.
So, our best and brightest….who (probably brain washed at a young age) can not get into UNC….and choose NCSU. If you look at the “Diversity” numbers of each of the major UNC Systems, we no longer admit folks based on “Grades”. We have to factor in ethnicity and sex….
Back in the 60’s, it was your SAT and HS grades….you did NOT have to do video’s about how your marched on the local HS Administration for some perceived “discrimination”. Not a LOT of women applied to State. In the fall of 1963, there were 300 and they actually “gave” them a separate dorm….
Don’t call me a bigot….the admission quotas are the bigoted rules.
BUT….generally speaking…..NCSU is a great school. I have a nephew that is an honors Chem Eng….as is his NCSU wife….and she made 800 on her Math SAT.
Coach Doeren’s blue collar work ethic is really no different from Mikey’s “annihilate the opposition” attitude. You WIN by hard work and toughness.
As Chub Sewell would say…..”Call your next case…..”

ParticipantWatched the massacre from the Robinson County Rest Stop on I-95 North. Timed our arrival and got the DirecTV dish up and watched it in the motor home.
We were doomed after a few minutes. Came out strong…and then “wilted” and the N&O said. Never could get old Mo going. Got the lead down to 4 or maybe 6, but ran out of gas.
Was it conditioning? Don’t know. But when Turner is tired and has no legs….his J suffers….and it did that yesterday.
Washington was motivated and showed spark. Cat was there….Lacey did not show much.
After a while….it was over…really over.
As to WHY it happened. Take your pick…
Gott is a player’s coach. V was a player’s coach. He did very little prep. He let his “stars” loaf during practice. BUT, he could get the entire TEAM up for a game. He took the most unlikely crew and worked miracles with them….plus a little luck.
Sloan was more of a Mikey….a scowler…..and he coached differently.
No need to talk about the others…
Mikey was a Military Man. They carry dog eared copies of Sun Tzu’s “The Art of War”. They are required to read it while on the john.
Mikey does NOT need to give pep talks. The team is committed to annihilating the opponent from the tip to the last buzzer. That is how they play. They do not let up. They rarely bring in the “subs”. That is how he recruits….and his game plan. Gott does NOT coach like Mikey. No one (maybe Knight) coaches like Mikey….
If you measure achievement versus potential (as in Talent), Gott gets higher marks than ORW. ORW as the same issues….his team is up and down…..and he is a Two Ringer.
Did we celebrate too much? Did we slack off in practice after UNC? Were we physically exhausted after UNC? Did we get the Big Head after UNC?
All I know is that BC came out of the gate to play. We did not. V once said that the Utah (memory) coach in the NCAA run told his team….”State can NOT shoot 60% in the second half….we can beat these guys”. He was wrong on both…..we shot 65% and they could NOT beat us.
If you looked at the graphics being flashed up…we shot WORSE in the beginning of the second half….barely 30%….down from the first half’s 38% or so. When you can’t hit squat and can’t get rebounds…..then you get beat.
SO, take your choice. BUT, remember….Gott is NOT going away….right or wrong, we don’t have the money.
Look at the “Team Coach” at VCU. Shaka has NOT done that well…..so who knows. We have GOTT….right or wrong for at least 2 more seasons. The Frosh looked great….pity the rest of the team did not play like the FROSH….

ParticipantWOW…..I don’t have the Bandwidth at the campground to keep up…..500+ posts.
Bass Packer….I too, saw the Food Lion commercial and thought about the comic ram….and made the same comment to my wife.
The giant bear hug that Gott gave Whitt was one of the high points….
Personal history here.
My wife was given NCSU vs. UNC (@ DD) tickets in 2003. I was traveling and she took our 7 mo PG daughter and her brother and SIL. That was the LAST time that NCSU beat UNC in the DD.
I text the folks about that….and also my 11 (soon to be 12) GS about it. I immediately followed up with a GS was there also. He texted back…”I don’t remember that…” and the texts from my daughter to him (they were in opposite ends of the house watching 2 different TV) was hilarious…..she was explaining that he, technically, was there….in her tummy. My wife cracked up and that text conversation with him and me and my daughter will go in his “big boy baby book”…
SO that was how long ago it was. Matt D was the coach and it was his LAST year….before he was canned.
UNBELIEVABLE…..what a WIN….

ParticipantJust south of Savannah in the motor home. The DirecTV HD dish is set up and through the miracle of elliptical signal patterns of the “birds”, my Cary Zip Coded receivers have a perfect WRAL (Channel 5) signal. WOW…
My wife did notice that all the coaches were wearing judicious amounts of RED in their shirts and/or ties.
Hodges’ blazer is on the red side of pink….which my wife liked.
We need to keep up old MO….and not get rattled. gotta find the gamecast with the stats. This has to be our best rebounding effort….especially “O”s ….but if we could HIT a few more.
Roy look upset….
Adventuroo
ParticipantEach of us has our own take on the game….and none of us (I ASSUME) are making the $$’s that Gott makes…..so here goes..
First….and I will take the heat….but this is fact. I wrote some “folks” on 1/22/15 about the Loss vs. Coach Blue Shirt index….(the stupid white with BLUE check shirt) and also asked WHY Gott did not have a R&W Clothier like ORW. Got the standard line….but one interesting “Who the heck are you?” from inside the “staff”. Actually knew the individual and popped back with a few remarks…
Coach has NOT….I THINK (have been to each PNC game and noted the color on the Away games) and maybe it is coincidence….been in any Light Blue or combo thereof shirt since then. It is OBVIOUSLY coincidence….as I said. AND we have had some really close and maybe a FUGLY losses. Yesterday, in honor of whatever, he was colorful…in Pink. Very Dapper…. If my shirt index correlation showed that when he was dressed like on of the Light Blue Men and carrying a Light Blue Bongo drum and we were guaranteed a win….HMMM have to think about that.
BUT, he is wearing RED and WHITE….some of the OTHER coaches (Lutz was in light blue yesterday) did not get my point….OK…enough of that….
SERIOUSLY…..what a game.
If you step out of the X & O and look at the team….I wonder what has happened…..for example…and I only took THREE Psychology Courses while trying to “find myself”….I was “LOST” in the 60’s….and some will say….SO What’s your excuse in the 10’s?
Cat suffered a personal loss of a friend and if my hunch is right….it was very devastating to him personally….perhaps he also reflected on where he is and where his friend was…. He certainly has “matured”. Sometimes tragedies cause you to reflect and make some changes….whatever….just a comment.
The team also had their “Team ONLY” meeting and the gist of the leaked comment were…Cat…Step UP….Be Yourself. Don’t know WHAT else was said…
Abu must be playing on pure adrenaline or emotion. His loss, and it was an NCSU loss as well, STILL has to be heavy on his mind. But, yesterday, he seemed to have the confidence of a much more seasoned player. I HOPE that he is able to work his way through this and that he finds peace….as well as his game. His mental state, as well as Cat’s, is obviously more important that our W-L….but it is, nonetheless, critical to the W-L as well.
Caleb obviously was miffed about Coddy starting….and their sibling competition….which is just that is good. They often come to the Lady’s games and are obviously “Brothers” and sit together as well as joke with the other team members who frequent the 2nd half of the women’s games. YES, he has been our “Rebounder” for several games…
Trevor….he looked like what we have come to expect. His ball handling was superb yesterday. That one sequence where he did at least 3 (maybe 4) Behind the back dribbles to get the ball down court was a thing of beauty. MAYBE he should have passed…but he DID make his point….
So, all in all, it was a great game. Someone commented that is did not look like a Blow Out. Can’t argue….but when we have been in the Blow Out mode….we seem to let up. Mikey keeps the dark blue’s in the Blow Out Mode for almost the entire game. That may seem sadistic….but it certainly has produced results. He NEVER lets up….so that the next opponent is wondering if they will have their worst game….and their confidence is shaken…That tactic just feeds on itself in the competition’s mind….as well as the confidence of the Dukies. Do I like it? NO…. But it sure seems to WORK. We somehow got past that and got into the Blow Out mode…but that magic has been “lost” for awhile….
Bottom line….we shot better and had more FG’s than Louisville. We rebounded better….the rest of the game was about even.
If you noticed the PF’s, they were below 40 and there was not anything “out of the ordinary”. YES, I and the DW YELLED at the Ref’s….we all do….and we all see the calls in the R&W fan’s perview. But….all-in-all…it seemed officiated OK….in fact, we got the PF advantage….which is usually a 2 – 3 Foul Home Team advantage.
As the DW said….This afternoon, Cat looked like the MickeyD PG that we expected him to be.
Great win….

ParticipantIt is fascinating that many have gone through the decline and death of a loved one with AZD…. I went down that path. I had my mother “tested” just to make sure before we began a rigorous “slowing down” treatment. What I found out was that she was brilliant. Had an IQ almost in the MENSA category…..obviously passed me by….but my son got the genes.
Then I found out that the “smarter” or more intelligent a victim, the easier to hide or cove up….as you would develop your own compensation system or crutches….and by the time your relatives or friends figured out (or were diagnosed), the worse you were.
Cruel disease….really cruel.
As to Coach Smith. I certainly think he was one of the brilliant minds in modern day Basketball. He was competitive….no doubt about it and he used every “trick” he could muster to win….which is OK….as long as you don’t bend the rules…TOO MUCH….
He was also a very kind and caring man….personally did not agree with his political or social stances….some a bit radical, but we are all entitled to stand up for what we believe. He was a great individual on and off the court.
All the “Pontification” of Coach Smith, especially by the wags and clickers that really do NOT do any research is a bit “OVER THE TOP”. He was a leader….and he took a chance at UNC on Charlie Scott…who supposedly was being heavily courted by Lefty at Davidson.
UNC, GASP, was NOT the center of the universe for Civil Rights. If you read some of the Black History articles written by UNC profs and UNC Black (first ones) Alumni, it was not exactly the George Wallace of the ACC, but FAR from a leader.
NCSU had a Black BB player, on scholarship, the year AFTER Charlie Scott. BUT, U of MD, had one a year BEFORE Scott. If you read all the tributes, one would think that UNC was the first. What the folks are NOT saying is that UNC did NOT want a Black BB player…and Coach Smith stood up and said….NO, I’m gonna do it. Doesn’t QUITE come across that way when you read the articles.
In fact, NCSU was probably the FIRST…and leading the “pack”. We had a Black Tennis player in the mid 50’s. He was the Captain of the Tennis Team. He also was an EE and maybe the FIRST Black NCSU Grad. UNC, to their credit, did have earlier Black grads….but their tales of having their swim card revoked and the fact that several of the Alphabetical Graduates would NOT march before or after them or they were “spaces” between THEM and the Graduates is probably MORE telling of the attitudes “OVER THERE”….
So, all in all, Coach Smith DID break a Racial Barrier….however, it was not really the ACC, but actually UNC.
Wonder HOW MANY of the AFAM students get the FULL story.
With all of Coach Smith’s accomplishments, the “misremembering” of WHY Charlie Scott was such a BIG Deal at UNC (and NOT the ACC) is a little like Bryan Williams embellishing his credentials. He is certainly a great news person and has a tremendous resume….but WHY sully it with hyperbole, that is false, and, utterly, NOT NEEDED….? That is what I object to about Coach Smith….
RIP, Coach. You took up the chalice when Case was tired….and were part of what made the ACC so famous.
BUT, if you have EVER read Jimmy V’s account of what he said when asked how he will “Beat” Coach Smith….it is very chilling.
Easy….I’m gonna outlive him….THAT still gives me the chills.

Talked to Eric Batts in the Wolfpack Club this morning about ACC Tourney tickets. He said that there were a few “pairs” left in the Champions Club and also several pairs in the Club Level.
He said to call him ASAP @ 919-865-1500. That is the main number….ask for Eric Batts.

ParticipantTheAlSikes,
Recommendations…..
First, there are a LOT of Syracuse fans in the triangle. The Duke game was unbelievable as to the Scalper’s profits a year or so ago.
When Cuse comes to the PNC, we have MORE Cuse fans than you can believe in the Lenovo Champions Club. They also run up big bar tabs and have been “escorted” out before. This is only the Minority….but they are among, as least up there, the rowdiest.
I would suggest you start looking now on Craigslist. I have sold a few over the years. There is usually folks that can not make it.
Also, call the WP Ticket Office. They probably have some. You might want to see, if you really want a good experience, if they have two in the Champions Club. Not ALL the LTR’s have been sold there. They sell the singles…but you need to call and ask. Try Erick Batts….he handles tickets.
The OTHER thing….do NOT panic if he says they are separate. This is a lounge area and you can watch from the tables just as well as the seats. I know a lot of folks that have seats and they will frequently just hang out in the lounge and watch the game. You do not have folks “walking in and out” that break up the action when they need a bathroom break.
The tickets are abit more pricey….BUT, remember, you have free food and softdrinks. It is easy to run up a hearty tab if you eat at the vendors. The hot food bar is great and the Pizza/Pasta bar is a hit….really good food. Since this is a noon game, they MAY be doing a brunch….sometimes they do omlettes….
Just passing this along….if you don’t find tickets….the scalpers, I think, will be selling for premium….
OK…UPDATE… Call the WPC Ticket office….I just did a Syracuse search in the RDU CL…..almost 100 postings….and a whole lot of WTB. I would start with Erick Batts….and then keep your eye on CL and go from there….

ParticipantJeff G on WRAL says that there will be 2 play ins on Tuesday….not 3 as planned. Don’t know the details.
The REAL question is whether the ACC has had the tickets printed yet. They may be on the “slow boat from China” as we speak. If they have already printed them….then WILL they discount the books. The tickets are now priced according to the “quality” of the games. The play in games were really cheap last year…
So, logistically, there may be some issues…
Adventuroo
ParticipantOK….I’m back. Botb nailed it. I decided to go this afternoon and found some great seats at a real bargain. It was NOT pretty from where I sat. Gott had his coat off in less than 3 minutes. My white shirt correlation did NOT work for this game. The whites seemed to be surrender flags…but, HEY, I’m still up….finishing a Double Black Ruskie….which I needed to calm down.
First….the Facility….for those of you that were NOT there. Think Reynolds with a 1950’s face lift. The rails on the balcony are works of welded art. Hand made….hand assembled. Did anybody THINK of getting prefabbed stuff.
I honestly thought during the pregame that we were watching a 1980’s or so “Game Film”. OPPS…that is LIVE TV. Their JumboTron is about 10 ft wide and 6 ft high. It has the clarity and color of my 1996 Sony big screen Bravia Rear Projection TV…when the bulb is so old that it will barely light the screen and needs 10 minutes to warm up.
Next….come that FUGLY Demon Deacon that does not even know HOW to start that Chopper or ride it. He pushes it around with his legs and revs’ the engine. BUT, he does have enough sense to point the exhaust pipes at our bench. If I had had a CO2 meter, I could have shut down the place as a health hazard. It was really that bad….but bad CAN get worse.
Mista Wolf was obviously closer to the action that I was….I was at Mid Court on the front row of the upper level. I watched the macro…he saw the micro. SO, here is my take…
GOTT KNEW we were in deep doodoo from the outset. He was pacing and barking and doing his “Mad Mikey” imitation. I did not see the actual acts of violence….but it does NOT surprise me. My DW, an astute observer, noted that GOTT said he could “tell or predict” how we would play….based on the level of the practices. That level was about -5 on a scale from 0 – 10. He was IMMEDIATELY “in their face”. I personally have watched him for 3+ seasons. Whether he just got the “papers” from Elizabeth or whether someone “close” to him just kicked him out of their co-habitation bed….I do NOT know. BUT, it was obvious that he was NOT a happy camper. If you think that ORW and Malovent Mikey can go ballistic….then Gott has been working on that gig.
As to the team. We looked great….for about 2 minutes. Cat seemed in control Lacey was cooking. And THEN the bottom fell out. If you looked at the stats in the last few minutes….as they would flash them up. We were shooting about 10 – 12% LESS. BUT, we had exactly the SAME FG and 3Pt’s. The difference….the FT’s. They went to the Line a LOT MORE…and they hit.
What struck us was TOO THINGS….and folks have commented. The total point production from our “BIGS” was dismal….and that is being nice. If we had been more aggressive or assertive, then, as the Food Lion says, “Victory will be ours”. NOW, couple that with Turner’s continuing drought.
Had any ONE big stepped up….had Turner HIT just a few….then Danny Manning would be asking…”what happened….”.
Turner was just a little “OFF” tonight. He shots looked GREAT….until they went DOWN in the cylinder and Skip Prosser’s ghost kicked them back out. They were really pretty good looking shots….just would NOT stay in.
BJ looks like he is going to be fined big $$’s for a foul. He has “turned down the volume….too MUCH”. Needs to be more aggressive. Freeman actually started the second half….it was THAT bad. Abu now is the Foul or Whistle Magnet. Don’t know why…but he is.
The Martin clan was NOT cooking. When the “fight” broke out…Cody was frustrated….and rightly so.
Officiating was not the worst….but not good….and THAT is the norm. Lots of blown calls and “opps, here’s a make-up”
We have GOTT to be more consistent. We have GOTT to come out and play with confidence….
That is NOT an X & O thing…but a concept…
Good thing….we have 8 days off. Tony Bennett has a tough job….how to convince his super stars that we CAN be for real…and worse…trying to prepare for the many faces that our team can bring to the floor.
At least it is at HOME….
Being an Ex Environmental Director, I have to see “stuff” wasted….and all the bandwith about DY pulling the pin on GOTT is a waste. It is NOT gonna happen. We do NOT have the UNC infrastructure where the “boosters” will bail her out. If she DOES pull the pin, then that $2,250K will come from INCREASES in ticket prices….NOT Wendell’s petty cash.
That is fact….blog on if it makes you feel better and the dog is at less risk of emergency treatment….but it is NOT gonna happen….unless there are pictures that surface of GOTT NOT wearing RED whatever’s.
We GOTT him for a while. I DO agree…he was frustrated. Out of control….maybe. Why…haven’t a clue. Time will tell. He usually proves the critics wrong during this stretch….has for 3 years….will he pull the proverbial rabbit out….
THAT is why I am staying tuned…..this team has more side and back stories than the Black List ever thought of….

ParticipantHey….they think they have money….and are immune. Warren Sapp (who turned OUT to be a real SAP) was arrested for Solicitation and Simple Assault. He got the “Goodies” from at least ONE of the escorts. There were TWO of them in his room….maybe he thought it was a BOGO….
Then, there appeared to be some dispute over the agreed upon price of the “escort services” and THEN the fight broke out….and spilled over into the hotel hallway. At 2:00 AM in AZ where he was covering the Super Bowl….
Then his NFL employer pulled the pin on him….he had already declared bankruptcy and was stiffing (don’t snicker) his creditors for over $6 Million….
It appears that the Escort(s) did not want to become one of his creditors….
STUPID…is as STUPID DOES….

ParticipantDitto the above. I put up a forum earlier on it. I THINK that at one time, he actually quit WTVD and was running JTV Enterprises for Valvano. That actually did put him in the “Coach’s Show” MC chair. Don’t know exactly when he left JTV and was an NCSU Employee.
Really great guy….did talk to him a few times. Always positive….and outgoing. Not braggy….

ParticipantI still don’t understand the call….maybe it was to throw off the Pat’s D as the entire world….including 8 billion or so Chinese thought that Lynch would run it…
And throwing into the middle was a 3rd or 4th call…but they did not, I think, have any time outs. So, if Lynch did not make it, they would have been pushed.
It is over….Russell only has one rings. J. R. got some good press last night. I THINK that now he and Russell will be able to “negotiate” a new contract since their 3 year Rookie signing is up…
Great game….right up to the last 0:18. Might be right about the flag….or maybe Russell and Hauschka and JR jinxed them….they had a 10 point lead and lost….see the BB article….

ParticipantWOW…..what an analysis. I fully understand, unless you have access to the Network’s PAID database, how much work went into that. Some the simple little factoids that I toss out took hours to research and format and put together….so it really is appreciated.
The comments popped up, while I was also doing some research….and they are interesting as well.
My take….as one who has always followed NCSU BB for more than 50 years and one who has been lucky to go to the ACCT since the late 90’s and has been a season PNC ticket holder since 2006….It is what it is.
No big lead is a guaranteed lead. It SOMETIMES is…but ask Ricky and Roy about how that worked out this weekend. I watched Duke destroy us in Charlotte after we had destroyed Maryland….and old Gary took the boys to the Dance that year and won the entire thing. We were the LAST team to beat them. I have watched Duke, probably, destroy MORE teams and leads.
Yes, we do NOT have the Killer Instinct. Never have….take Valvano’s game against Houston. Are we doing worse? I don’t truthfully know. Are we inconsistent this year….YES….much more so. BUT, compared to the last years, we are consistently playing HIGHER quality ball….be it short lived at times.
I TOTALLY agree….we need to be more KILLERS and more CONFIDENT. Don’t know how you exactly coach that….it is not an X & 0 drill thing.
How about the following…..It is taken from here….

ParticipantLawful,
Please make out your check to “NC AD Fire GOTT Fund”. There MAY be 50 (and that is a stretch) folks that regularly post BB stuff. So, if the majority of them decided it is time to BUY OUT Coach G, then your far share will be…
$45,000 or Forty-Five Thousand Dollars. Don’t know if this donation will be tax deductible or not?
If I am wrong in my estimate and it is 100, then it will only cost you $22,500.
Coach G has 3 years left (after this season) @$750 K (base – Guaranteed)….so that is $2,225,000….
You will also need to get consensus from the other 49 or 99 to include a check.
Shaka would not doubt be more popular with the recruits….but what is his resume on NBA drafted players? His wife is also still in the “I told YOU, once, that I was NOT moving to Raleigh or any other place” mode. You will need to personally convince her that Raleigh is better than Richmond (VCU Campus.

ParticipantB.otb,
I think that his title is Assistant Student Coach, not Assistant Coach….
I marvel at his understanding of the game. The man was a life saver today. I can’t recall, but he hit, I think, two critical shots in the OT.
Gary and Tony are headed to the bus….please make sure that the fire pit is properly (according to FAA regs) sanitized after the bodily fluid extinguish technique….

ParticipantNew GT strategy….let us shoot….ain’t going in and they get the ball back. BJ just stood there doing his BB Mime imitation. Time is running out like the last few grains of sand trickling down the hour glass….

Participantwe could tie GT’s hands (PLURAL) behind their backs and they would still outrebound us.
