The only “let down” is the lack of coaching on one bench.

Any kid born after 1991 hasn’t seen much of a rivalry in basketball.

Wes Miller, still in search of a dance ticket…and a neck.

Very thankful for this golden period of silence, and the confidence that it gives me that Will Wade is the absolute floor of the search, and we shouldn’t have to worry about the likes of Kevin Keatts.

Looking like HWSNBN will end up weaving and heaving back into the CBI or CIT. Jules has a sharp suit, though…

Lordy. It’s been several years since I posted here last. But…

One of these days I’m going to roll thru Faison just to see what up and what’s all the fuss about. Do they grow any coaches down there?

Indiana is now our only competition for Arch, and I don’t suspect he’s first on they list.

I’m seeing lots of Pack fans getting excited about Keatts after UNCW’s win last night.

To me, he’s a lottery ticket. Could hit big. Probably won’t. Plenty of low major coaches have a nice run of success for a few years, leverage it into a high-major job, and don’t pan out.

I just don’t get that. He’s good at working the waiver wire, and brought good high-major “refugee” talent to Wilmington, which he used to overwhelm the CAA. That’s good leveraging of the situation, and I’m sure his AD is super pleased.

I hardly see how this is evidence of a sustainable model to compete for ACC titles.

What I have heard from people with contacts in the coaching world is very not encouraging. Keatts would mean (i) DY has screwed up royally; and/or (ii) we decided to go cheap-ass yet again.

Such a hire would show no ambition, vision, nor ability to go out and get someone at the top of the list. It would be pure and obvious settling. Shit, freaking Mizzou will likely make a better hire than that. And they are a five-alarm dumpster fire.

Keatts numbers use Louisville’s numbers since he only has 3 years,
the chart clearly show the class of the group to be Marshal and Drew.
Holtzman and Miller are trending in the correct direction.

im not hearing good things about our chances for Archie. was told “you wont be happy with the end result”. I know thats premature and we have no idea, but it doesnt sound like we got the interest from our top choices that we wanted.

I don’t put any stock into what anyone is hearing or saying their sources are saying at this point in the search.

Honestly, I don’t have good feelings bout this potential coaching hire from our administration. Think it was a poor decision first to leak it, then allow Gott to remain on the bench. Nothing good will come from Gott still coaching this team. If he loses today, more negative. If he wins out or makes a run in the ACCT, more negative press and comments.

As far as Archie not wanting to come back to NC State, not sure why this would not be his dream destination. It was good enough program for him to wanna come play as a player, then why would he not be good enough for him as a coaching career move. Specially with the ties in Raleigh. I can’t see how this situation does NOT work out for Archie and PackNation. Then again, We R NC State.

The Thad Matta situation definitely help us out. Archie will be treated like a king if he comes back to Raleigh. Hopefully he’s successful if he decides to make the jump. I’d hate for him to come and struggle. I wish coaches were jockeying to be here like it was the fight for King’s Landing.

I am going to look on the positive side of this statement. somebody is spreading negative rumors to get us into a low expectations state of mind, so that when the decision is announced, we will all be very happy, because we expected worse.
some of my best golf rounds were when I had low expectations.

I think the hire will be successful if we get one of the top 6
greg Marshal or Scott Drew – jumping up and down and screaming for happiness
Holtzman or Miller – great hire and the future looks great
Keatts or Wade – very optimistic about the future

if we hire a washed up coaching retread, I am not re-upping for next years tickets, giving up my PSLs, moving on to better things in life with a better return on investment. And I will not encourage my younger son to attend NC State, too painful, I may even encourage him to go to UNC.

we should be able to get one of those 6!!
