ParticipantQuestion: Does anyone hold any animosity or “unsettling” feelings over the Lacey defection? Yeah, can’t blame him for taking the money even though he knew it wouldn’t be NBA money. Does he stay another year and hope for NBA money, or did he realize what his potential was, financially? That Europe was the limit? If he did realize it, why would he not risk injury for one more year of D-1 ACC basketball to see what he might have become? Did he sell himself short? Geico might make a “settler” commercial about him, as unsettling as it might be.

ParticipantWufpacker, thanks for the excellent write up and all of your effort at SFN. A shout out at management to give the young man a raise!! Just this once, just this one stinkin time will I ascribe to the labor theory of value. Nice work Wuf

ParticipantWow, thanks for posting that, Troll. I had not seen that. I feel somewhat vindicated in questioning his desire to recover his fumble.
Wufpacker, that is the best replay of that play that I have seen. I think that if you compare Cam’s attempt, hustle and desire to get the ball, compared to that of Demarcus Ware, Ryan Kalil or Malik Jackson, well, there simply is no comparison or question as to who was willing to give his best effort.
And Troll, your statement: “Sure they’re both fiery QBs, but the difference is that one plays for the team and one plays for himself. Not debatable any longer.” pretty much sums up my feelings about Cam. It seems that it is Cam first, team second in his mind. That’s just my opinion, and I am no Cam-hater. Truth be told, had they been playing the Pats, I would have preferred to see the Panthers win.
Wolfanatic
ParticipantAgree with Troll also. Cam’s sullen and petulant attitude after the game, coupled with what appeared to be a total lack of desire to recover his own critical fumble with the game on the line will only serve as more ammo for his detractors. Such a shame that his maturity has not progressed equally with his skills.

ParticipantAnya needs gloves, CowMutt, Give him Grinnage’s left overs…my 2 cents.. Nothing new, but the Lacey defection proved to be an unexpected, mortal wound. Henderson gets his ankle rebuilt, seven minutes into the season. Washington leaving, well, I don’t think that I was the only one caught off guard by that.
These are decisions that are made by KIDS.. It’s on Gott? You want money? Europe? Okay. No Problem..Go…You want more playing time? Then you are saying that your coach cannot recognize talent , or is it perhaps that you’re not a team player…IDK..but I’m still firmly in Gott’s corner, because like some others here, I’ve been around winning coaches/managers. Since we are not a one and done school (yet) must he be a great coach and Dr. Freaking Phil at the same time? Does Calipari play the Dr Phil role? Is it not a business?Wolfanatic

Participant^ We are the only team in the conference without a 6’10” or taller player on the roster, I believe. Not that that should cripple us, just sayin.

ParticipantApologies to all for my comment last night. Indeed, it was uncalled for. Just spoke out of drunken frustration that has accumulated over a few games. I suppose that the kettle was bound to whistle at some point. Again, I apologize to those who were offended.
