Is it safe to say that some people MAY have over-reacted?

Is the sky still falling? Or nah?

-Harris- Do you remember his dad? Thinking that he was an NBA player like big brother? Saying that he “shut down” Thomas Robinson in the Sweet Sixteen game? Did he ever live up to daddy’s expectations? Is he going to the league?

    Eas,

Not to be a stickler but wiki has our ACC finishes at 4th, 4th, 7th, 6th, 13th if that matters to you. The 2nd forth and 13th place finishes are the ones that bother me. I had a great time for the rest. Luckily skipped season tickets this year. I had no real reason why, time just snuck up on me. Like I said…lucky.

“We have serious problems, and recruiting will get even worse now. Gott has to go, unless we want to continue being beat up by the blues (and stripes).”

    Another one. *DJ Khaled voice*

I’m thinking of another quote but don’t feel like finding it.

    Read better.

“I have read nothing about the Martin Brothers transferring. Is there confirmation on that, and if that is the case. GOTT needs to go.”

“If it’s been said on this thread, then you should have quoted it.”

If you are that curious you should read the thread.

“Those same scouts who have been traveling around to all places already have all the tape they need on him…”

You’re completely missing the point. Execs don’t send prospects notes on those tapes. He will get feedback at this combine and EVERYONE will get tape on him and see him in person. Again…no reason for him to turn down that opportunity, even if he 100% plans on coming back.

“You might want to save that comment and post it in response to someone says to fire Gott now.”

Is there a need to do that? It’s been said. It’s been said on this very thread. If you ain’t the hit dog, don’t holler.

“Thinkpack – Abu may be back, but he obviously WANTS to leave.”

I’m sorry but I just can’t stop laughing at this. I know I’m being a douche but what 5 star recruit doesn’t want to be in the league as quick as possible. I mean…lol.

    “It’s not exactly rocket science.”

Ahahahahahahaha!! No. It’s easy. Which is why teams scout players for years and have teams of people reponsible for their picks. People that travel to Latvia and Montenegro to review talent. People with dozens of years of knowledge in determining what skills a player requires to make it in the league. Why would Abu want to work out for them? Seriously?

“Abu, OTOH, is incredibly intelligent – he’s a guy – whom in the right environment – probably wouldn’t be looking to leave at being the last pick in the first round.”

Bullcrap. Unless your family is well off or you can play yourself into a lottery spot or maybe youre coming back to go to a final 4, if you are going in the first round…you go. Get your contract, make your money and earn you degree later. Btw I could go on and on why Abu is not an NBA talent right now but I’ll save that for another post.

“Having to constantly pull a rabbit is not a way to build a top 25 program.”

Firing a coach after 1 bad season is not a way to build a top 25 program.

“Keep in mind – at this point we have 7 guys on our roster. Consider Abu gone – he may indeed return, but the mere fact he has thrown in name in the ring and is taking the preparation seriously indicates his true intentions.”

Dude…that’s just being smart. With the new rules if you are at a NBA prospect it makes no sense for you not to put your name in. You get a work out and free advice from NBA personnel. Kentucky’s whole team is declaring does that mean none of them are coming back?

“We still don’t have a combo guard.”

Dorn was recruited to be a combo guard.

^Sweet 16s? Turning Raleigh into lob city against UNC? Beating K and then smacking him on the ass? Getting 2 recruits in the same class over Roy? Beating Roy IN CHAPEL HILL? Nah my dude…nah.

“Brollack, can you be specific on the one with no ambition and the one that will jet? Inquiring minds wish to know. We have a player with no ambition?”

I’m glad I’m not the only one who had no idea what this guy was talking about.

“Everyone has a family member of friend who always has ‘bag luck’. At some point you realize it’s their decisions not their luck.”

Yup…and they’re nerve racking but as long as they show up at the reunion with the fried turkey they are alright with me. I’m about the results. Cousin Jeffery has remembered the turkey 4 outta 5 years now. Not too bad.

^take a moment, organize your thoughts and get back to us. Try to use names and actual data to back up your claims. Lastly read your post aloud. If it doesn’t make sense to you how can it make sense to us?

    Chop,

    1. I disagree with the “nosedive” assessment. If that’s indeed your opinion. A few days ago we had a solid roster. We lost 2 players unexpectedly and those are the breaks. There are obvious risks in recruiting twins but it’s Gotts job to patch those hole. But it’s been 3 days, you actually have to give him a chance to do his job.

    2. This is a fair point. We had a great team with the big 4 and that was a season to forget. If we see that again I agree it would be cause for a move.

Lol. You guys kill me. Last season was so fun. Knocked off Duke in a great home game, FINALLY got the UNC away monkey off our back in a finely coached game that State teams of the past would have lost 100 out of 100 times (we were leading throughout only to have UNC mount a furious comeback) and knock off a one seed to reach the sweet 16.

1 bad season and it’s “can the prick.” Hahahahhaha! And the cherry on top is it’s from some people who thought Cat wasn’t fit to be an ACC PG. BTW Great insight on the transfer stats freshmen.

I don’t think we are inexperienced every year. I mean the guys we put out may not have the most NC STATE experience but we aren’t putting out freshmen like Duke and UK. Lacey and Turner last year played a ton of games. Same with the big 4 and AJ, those were old teams. The only year I’d say we were inexperienced was TJ’s ACC POY year.

Rick- Maybe he’s putting to much emphasis on playing time during his living room visits? Too much sizzle, not enough steak?

StateRed- FSU and Clemson are no better off than us. Clemson may be the only school that Roy owns more than he owns us. And the thing with Miami is their coach is much better than ours, no other way to say it.

I don’t really have any good answers. Maybe this is our version of one and done? We can’t get the Parkers or Okafors or Ingrams to be our temporary mercenaries but maybe we can have a bunch of transfers be our semi-pro team. I’ll tell you this. Gott ain’t winning with a bunch of 150+ ranked guys.

^Good for him. That’s solid. We saw him is a 8/9 man and he wanted to get on the court. He went somewhere he could play. Remember Josh Davis? A lot of people felt he was lucky to even get an offer from us. People were saying that Sid had lost the plot and was grasping at straws. Josh was a Raleigh guy and loved NC State but when it came down to it he wasn’t ready to be buried on the bench so he left. These kids want to play and there are good enough programs that they have the luxury of calling their shot. That’s just the way it is.
