ParticipantHuxtable is like the fat guy calling defenses for those Dan Fouts Chargers teams. Pure futility

Participantonside kick is our only hope!!
2point conversion is an option

ParticipantDoesn’t look like we will get a stop
Texpack
ParticipantNice drive. We might get 48.
Texpack
ParticipantGonna take 48 to win today. Defense clueless to start.

ParticipantGet the ball inside and get the heck out of the way. Anya, Abu, Frenchie, and Washington are going to have the rest of the ACC laying awake at night. This will be a season to remember.

ParticipantI will again be more curious o see how we attack this situation than anything else. Stopping the run will be tough, but the key will be how well we can hold up to the odd pass that BC will attempt.
In the OOC games we would hold up against the run pretty well two downs out of three and then, shazam, 38 yards up the middle. Be cant let them bust off the 15+ yard runs. Hold them to three runs of 15+ and we win. More than 6, and we lose.

ParticipantThe defense played about like they did last week, maybe a little better. Clemson’s defense vs our offense was the story. Our wins along the front were very few and very far between.
BC beat USC and lost to Colorado State. Which Eagles team makes the trip to CF will be key. This is clearly a team we need to get ahead of early.

ParticipantForced Touching officially makes this game obscene.

ParticipantAtrocious clock management. You let the half run out with a TO left on the board. You call the last TO WITH 20 seconds to go and you guarantee yourself 3 points. Very very easy to figure out.
Texpack
ParticipantI think we need to try a screen on offense. On defense we should pull the starters. No sense getting hurt.
Texpack
ParticipantNice strategy by Clemson to pad the rushing and passing stats.
Texpack
ParticipantWe won’t stop them without points today until they pull Watson.
Texpack
ParticipantQB draw or the bomb. Can’t stop either one.

ParticipantGonna be a long day. Looking like the Tory Smith game part two.
Texpack
ParticipantThat didn’t take long.

ParticipantThe 1979 game in Clemson, when we essentially clinched our most recent ACC Football Championship with a goal line stand, still ranks as one of my all time favorite moments in sports. I rode that one out in the Clemson student section.
Tomorrow will likely be a 45-35 win for the Tiggers. Their new QB is a huge upgrade and lessens our chances at victory substantially if he plays like he did last Saturday. Our best shot is that we picked some things up on tape that were exposed by the number of snaps he took last weekend. If the game were in Raleigh I’d also think there was a shot we could get him rattled. This will be our first real road game. I don’t count the open scrimmage, with Jacoby’s family making up half of the crowd, in Tampa.

ParticipantThe optimist would point out the 19 point improvement from the previous week instead of dwelling on the fact that they gave up 120+ over two weeks.

ParticipantMeeechigan at least thinks they can do better than DD, but who knows. This is the first coach we’ve had since HWSNBN that’s been mentioned for job openings elsewhere so we should be happy.

Thornton was the ‘QB’ when we ran the Wildcat (probably because he ran the Wildcat in High School.) When the hand-off option is not there, he must keep it.
You may remember at the end of the Presbyterian game, Josh Taylor came in and ran the read option with Nichols and was very successfully moving the chains when time ran out — averaging a little over 6 yds a carry keeping it when the Presby D covered the read. Taylor and Nichols are going to be extremely valuable on the Scout team when we play teams that use read option plays. I would guess that McClendon was “Winston” last week.
Point taken. I probably didn’t phrase that precisely enough. Thornton kept the ball a lot more than he did in the first three games. You are correct in that he may have made the correct read every time. I think if you don’t want to run Brissett as a regular thing the Wild can add to the offense. I’d also like to see some passing from the Wild.

ParticipantI thought Thornton kept the ball too much out of the Wild yesterday. I thought at least one of the Samuels jet sweeps was with Brissett at QB. It’s like any other formation, you have to execute.

ParticipantThe two turnovers were too much to overcome.
