Yea I have pets, understood the eating grass reference, just mainly focused on whether Cat was sick on not. Key issue we are all worried about. And is there any stiffness in Warren’s ankle. I just hope they all come to play. Pitt sure did. 53-24

And Tell Warren if anyone takes a cheap shot, just tell Anya, Vandy and Freemon. Put the double block slam to the ground move on them.

They don’t have an NBA team, so I’m not sure anyone was available.

    Why does this scare me?

“We have a funny game plan to stop Warren,” said guard Mike McCall, who will likely be tasked with N.C. State point guard Tyler Lewis, who had seven points and eight assists against Xavier. “Our defense has been good. Our practice has been great. It’s an interesting game plan going into (the game). I love defending, I love shutting guys down. It will be interesting.”

What are they going to do, work hardest to get him in foul trouble, slap him in the balls to draw a technical, try to injure him. Or are they just talking the usual suspect of defenses, Box and 1, triangle and 2, M 2 Man w a focus on collapsing on Warren? I don’t know but the quote bothered me.

Yea, sometimes I feel like Vandy should look for his shot more. He passes out when he has great position underneath. But that may be mostly from coaches instruction. If he shot a lot more, would he miss a lot more. As it is, he mainly takes gimmies.

Good call on the No bad Juju move. Almost time to go back down into the dark basement for bud light.

    Comments and Slight Disagreements

JonhG – your list of differences
Confidence – it’s different for these two teams in an odd way.
Last year’s team seemed be overconfident in a “We deserve to be good and don’t need to work hard” way. EDIT – (Maybe that was just CJ) This years team I think has lacked confident. But they have been willing to work hard and confidence seems to be growing. We just need our guards to be confident and hit shots.

BJD – always love your comments but is KH’s defense that much better than Vandy’s? They both are big and slow but both can block and affect shooters. I don’t think Vandy is out of position any more than KH. And Vandy can get back down court better. I would move Vandy up one and KH down one. Just my view.

Overall, I think our defense is improving. The two mental let down games (Clemson and Miami) excluded, I think we are showing a competitive defense that can take us though a couple of games. Aside from help for Warren, I think it’s a good defensive performance that will win us the games. I don’t mean an awesome defense, just a good performance to compliment our offense and give us some fast break points and stops at key times.

    Overly optimistic again. GO PACK!

But that does not explain why not FSU. I’m thinking even thought they don’t say it, late wins against good teams catches their eye. Maybe they also gave a nod to the last second losses to Cuse and UNX…. Just would be interesting to know.

Then again, the above was focused on losses and as VaWolf pointed out, losses just aren’t that much of the picture.

“I won’t be including this NC State resume in my list for future discussions. The margin was too thin this year”

By the skin of our teeth. I looked up FSU worst losses and it’s just ACC teams. They did have a solid resume. Losing to Minnesota 50, State 55, Clemson 78, MD 83, Miami 110.
We were lucky NCC slipped into the top 100 at 99. If the committee just looks at the categories.
Don’t know why they took us over FSU other than the Tourney and head to head, or eye test or We got Buckets!, or ….. Maybe it was the cheerleaders

    Just glad we are In.

Cal’s issue may have just come down to RPI. Do you pass up 53, 54, 55 and 58 for a 63. That leaves a lot of room for folks to cry foul. But Numbers is bulls#!t so….

    Great analysis.
I won’t disagree with you about bad losses but maybe losses did play a little bit of a factor. I would like to see a closer inspection of 100+ losses similar to what you did for 0-100 wins. Last I checked State’s 2 100+ losses were less than 120. But it’s not much of a cheer when you shout “We suck less!”

I’ll go with the Warren factor although If I remember it correctly, we missed the NIT in Gug’s last year and I thought surely they would have grabbed us to have his last game(s).

I guess I was just thinking that since we had beaten Pitt…..

And I know nothing helps us unless we win 3 games in a row, and that’s just to get to cross our fingers. I do know that if we win 4 in a row, starting tonight. We be Jamming.

Maybe Pitt will be confident and rested and take out the heels. Helps our RPI.

Does anybody besides me wonder how a super tall white guy with a Polish name have such a strong Hispanic accent. The new world I guess.

On to the WF Pitt game. Wake starting slow.

Although a little bit of WBS and the Cat is OK by me. Just not the answer for a lot of minutes.

Wee Baby Seamus, how did I miss that.

A lot of talk about the 2 spot and that has been our weak spot all season.
Last time out, the Lewis/Barber duo got us about 14 points 8 assists. That’s great and I would hate to mess with it. They are doing well lately. But the two spot.. I don’t think we solve anything by putting Anthony there. He’s not as tall as Dez and no better at the 3 than Turner or Dez. We just need those two to step up their game, play hard, don’t force shots and hope they get hot. Turner could really help if he makes multiple 3’s today.

Also for anyone interested, if you are looking for walkup tickets, Take HW 40 to High Point Road North to the Coliseum. The couple of miles stretch between the HW and the Coliseum will have ticket sellers on the right side of the road. Just look for them, they will probably be at a Restaurant parking lot where you can see them.

I would not be surprised if Thursday evening tickets are less than face value. Friday will be another story.

I live about 5 miles south of the coliseum and don’t really know the best way. I have parked in the neighborhood and walked in, and I have paid the $8-10 bucks to park. It’s usually not too bad a traffic issue. But if you know a better way such as a shuttle, go for it and share.

While were explaining nicknames, I have managed to understand who they belong too and I know why on most of them, but what does WBS stand for.? Is it the same pattern as BSW? If so, who was BS referenced by WBS? I missed that one.
