Roo’s writeup reminded me that I was watching the game, but actually missed the shot the first time around. As usual my “feed” was delayed, and I had the ESPN gamecast open in another window so I could see the score and read the description of what happened before I could see it. The initial play-by-play said that BJ scored the winning bucket, to which I thought “the hell?”.

So I kept my eyes on Anya during the inbound and completely missed Mav get the pass and make the bucket. 😛

Yow has made some very good hires for non-revenue sports. I know, I know. Big deal. But I think it does show acumen for finding coaching talent. I think the FB and BB searches were tainted by a lot more than having her as AD, and the cards were stacked against her.

The stats say that State outshot and out rebounded BC. The Pack shot 47% (8-17) from 3. BC was 29.2% (7-24) from 3. I would have bet a lot that BC’s 3 percentage was higher. I think at some point though BC was shooting over 60% in the first half, which, along with State’s turnovers and poor shooting led to BC’s big lead. BC had way too many wide open looks. State should have been able to do a much better job defensively against a young, conference winless team.

As usual, State needs to learn some “that guy” defense. As in, “somebody stop that guy”.

Haha, I can’t comment on the fans since I wasn’t there. I graduated with the coach and the guy I knew wouldn’t put up with much – that’s all I can say to that. Cary has 1 loss this year so they do know how to play. Survive and advance 🙂
