No offense but that is just crap. We weren’t 5 plays from 11-1. That is fan speak to make you feel better about the season. Those plays while important don’t guarantee the outcome of those games.

Nothing offends me. No need to preface opinion with apology.

Those five plays were directly responsible for 35 points. Four direct play touchdowns for the opposition and one direct touchdown taken away by the opposition. That is a 35 point swing in a series of games (SC, Clempson and the lucky sperm club) that was decided by 20 points in total.

The offense generally scored enough to win, except at ND where State was not going to win BECAUSE their offense was running the State defense over, in every game. Four of those plays were single stand alone plays, game changers.

    And finally, defense wins championships.

    Don’t forget, 5 plays from 11-1.

    1 long pass
2 special teams (kick off and punt returns)
    1 long run
    1 fumble at goal line

    That is pretty close gentlemen.

Show him the money, forget about your emotions.

unc is down, Tennessee is down, South Carolina isn’t recruiting well in the old north state and neither Virginia team is gaining ground.

Clempson is up. Two of the three schools that historically get lots of N.C. high school talent are hurting. The chance to make serious recruiting in roads is now.

5-9, 197 is not your typical 20 carry per game runner.

And returning kicks on top of that.

Methinks Coach Dave had better get some better talent in here or Hines will be picking up trash after the games in addition to his other duties.

The wideouts can’t stretch the field and no other running back shows burst. It appears they are possession type ball catchers. Lose Hines and you lose the distance play.

I am all for upgrading the coaching staff who would that be and how will they get paid are realities for NCSU.

The aforementioned is what a good head coach does very well. Coach Dave has made some moves, I expect there will be a new DC in the next few months.

Tennessee should hire Adazzio from BC.

He makes chicken salad from chicken sh.it.

I gave one of them a call last night to reminisce and when I called your name his reaction was “what a tough SOB that guy was”. High praise from a guy who had creosote on the sides of his helmet from slamming into a light pole to get warmed up for practice.

    Reputation is worth 3 divisions.

I would tap on my eye ball to stop the blink reflex from initial contact. Hitting walls, butting ones head on steel beams etc look darn stupid in hindsight but it did send a message of DEDICATED FOCUS on the subject at hand.

That aside, Hines was the real difference maker IMO. The size of the receivers coupled with the difficulty of covering JSAM could leave the field wide open for Hines. His absence was noticeable.

    Pretty clear breakdown.

    Looks closer than further away.

    1) 90 kickoff and 57 yd TD pass against SC. Three turnovers were no help.

    2) Punt return against Clempson and long TD run.

    3) Great play by lucky sperm club linebacker at goal line.

5 plays right there that are the difference between 7-4 and 10-1.

State was mauled at ND. They were never going to win that one.

Irksome as it might be this morning, I’m calling for steadfast support of the coach.

Things never turn on a dime. I rejected the upward trend (we turned the corner!) non-sense weeks ago just as I reject end time leanings now. I believe Coach Dave, who I from here forward will no longer refer to as Dapper Dave, deserves the chance to fashion the program in a manner reflective of himself and the university. That image, dislike it as you will, is one of steady, everyday consistency. I’m rejecting emotional reactions and rather a calm approach be followed whereby he continues to build a base of depth. He will need to address some items, examples being backfield speed outside of Hines, kicking, adjustments, etc but I believe he will get there.

I believe he is still learning as all coaches are prone to do at lesser or greater degrees. I believe defeats of the sort witnessed against SC, Clempson and the lucky sperm club are the sort that deepen a love of winning. Heart break can be a good thing, it can enhance commitment.

Following State is not the easy path. Join me in extending a hearty middle finger to our enemies and greet them with a Piedmont accented “up yours”.

I also hope the stupid pricks at wake forest that come from money all caught the clap last night.

    Can’t turn the ball over.

There are 6 plays that stood between State and a very good season. I’m not questioning any calls, lucky sperm club can be a difficult place to play. The calls were right to get the winning score with 1:50 in the clock but the fumble sealed that.

Beat the sodomites next week and finish out at 8-4, 6-2.

The freshman, 15, got smoked tonight.
