Back, and to the Left Game Thread

I ran out of dumpster fire memes, so I went with historical appreciation instead. I suggest talking more about your own take on the assassination and/or your favorite conspiracy theory(ies), rather than the game. Not even sure I will watch, frankly. It’s mind-numbingly stupid that we play this game at all, and I am extremely disappointed in DY for recently extending this series. In the future we will have to explore more deeply what drove that decision because I know from first hand experience that she has not supported the extension of the series.

Today’s sea of purple-clad methheads in C-F is in no way good for our program. But, of course, today’s situation comes to your courtesy of ‘Coach Lee Fowler’ who would’ve done anything in the world he could to put himself in the personal good graces of local politicians and ECU’s well-respected Athletics Director (at the time), Terry Holland. I have to ask how all of that chumming up to others worked out for Fowler, who remains unemployed three years after FINALLY being dismissed from NC State.

ECU can beat NC State and UNC-Chapel Hill in the same season for the first time in school history.

The most exciting sports event of the day, of course, is the Merseyside Derby. Everton scored to level the game at 1-1 in the 8th minute, and have controlled play since. This is what will determine the level of my foul mood for the remainder of the weekend, at least until Broncos/Pats Sunday night.

OMFG. Smooth Operator has been infected with the Wolfpack virus.

  2. Wufpacker 11/23/2013 at 1:56 PM #

    Wake back out in front.

  3. MrPlywood 11/23/2013 at 1:57 PM #

Dang BJD, I was just typing “infected”. It’s like 28 Days Later around Raleigh.

A lot of folks may disagree, but I’m glad to see Sade missing these kicks late in the season. It’s pretty clear he’s putting his foot down and saying he’s had enough of carrying the team in the red zone. A man has to take a stand sometime.

  5. hammerpack 11/23/2013 at 1:58 PM #

Honestly, we have little chance of beating ANY team in FB or BB!

How did it get THIS BAD????

    DR YOW? ANYONE?

  6. BamaPack 11/23/2013 at 2:01 PM #

I doubt Yow gives two chits about our performance today or anything we do on the hardwood as long as the budget is balanced, the bills are paid, and the women’s sports continue to get their scratch.

There’s a reason she’s pushing that ridiculous Reynolds/Hall of Fame boondoggle.

  7. redcanine 11/23/2013 at 2:02 PM #

We’re gonna be alright in hoops at some point this season. At no point this football season.

  8. Wufpacker 11/23/2013 at 2:03 PM #

    Here we go.

  9. redcanine 11/23/2013 at 2:03 PM #

I don’t want to wait to eat my goddamn raisins!

  10. redcanine 11/23/2013 at 2:04 PM #

We’ve turned into a bunch of grapes!

  11. Wufpacker 11/23/2013 at 2:05 PM #

Devils knot it up at 21 pending the PAT.

  12. redcanine 11/23/2013 at 2:09 PM #

    Duke is Puke,
    Wake is Fake,
the team I love is NC State!

  13. Wufpacker 11/23/2013 at 2:25 PM #

LOL redcanine, I heard that saying a bit differently originally.

Of course, I was a kid growing up in Terrapin country at the time.

  14. FunPack 11/23/2013 at 2:37 PM #

I’m not watching the game but I’m enjoying the commentary here. Maybe there is something wrong with me.

  15. Wufpacker 11/23/2013 at 2:40 PM #

    Stuffed.

  16. Texpack 11/23/2013 at 2:40 PM #

Maybe there’s a pithed frog available to replace Huxtable as DC. This is just absurd. Our defense isn’t even being given a chance to be competitive.

  17. BJD95 11/23/2013 at 2:41 PM #

From the comment volume and specifics…not many folks are watching! I always enjoy the commentariate, though. Best in the land (well, maybe after KSK).

Duke getting ready to punt, still up 7 with 11 to go.

  18. BJD95 11/23/2013 at 2:42 PM #

It’s talent and depth, not coaching. We’ve had a few games where the scheming/gameplan really gave us an unexpected chance (Clemson, Duke).

If I’m being honest with myself I have to ask did TOB really leave the cupboard this empty? I mean I like DD but at some point in time some of this falls on him. It just seems there is more going on here than TOB’s horrid recruiting skills and 1920’s play calling.

    It’s Must be George Bush’s fault….

  20. BJD95 11/23/2013 at 2:46 PM #

eas – yes, it is. Go back to my “Volmageddon” thread last year, and you will see me talk about 2014 and 2015 being complete rebuild years, and that we couldn’t survive 2013 being anything other than a banner year.

  21. eas 11/23/2013 at 2:46 PM #

That being said I still think it’s mostly what TOB left us. It just sucks to suck is the real issue.

AliasTroll – With regards to “puff, puff, give”, next season I will be soaking my cigars in embalming fluid to facilitate my worst to first Vision Quest. That’s right, ANGEL………………………….DUST. “Vacation (from mediocrity) is all I ever wanted” will be playing in the background. I will be more than willing to share with any takers. In my mind, State wins the ACC Title next year regardless of reality, for the first time in 35 years. Very sad thought when sober.

  23. MrPlywood 11/23/2013 at 2:46 PM #

Excuse my French (it is the second language up here), but fooking hell man.

  24. TheAliasTroll 11/23/2013 at 2:47 PM #

Our team is a big turd.

  25. BamaPack 11/23/2013 at 2:47 PM #

We are slow, outmanned, and outgunned.

But we are doing a good job making up for that with lack of effort, desire, and technique.
