Old MacDonald Had a Farm. Pack wins!

When we hongry we eat. Pack beats Aztecs 79-65, advance to Round of 32, await winner of Georgetown/Belmont.

WRAL:

Getting into the NCAA tournament is the hard part for North Carolina State.

Winning a first game? Not that difficult, apparently.

Richard Howell doubled his average with 22 points, and 11th-seeded North Carolina State used its muscle inside and sticky defense to upset San Diego State 79-65 on Friday in a second-round East Regional game.

Poor UVa. If we replayed the season I’m not sure they’d win 6 conf. games.

Another win by State and there will be more people than just Myron Medcalf telling the world how much talent this Wolfpack team has. And if he thinks they’re good now just wait till he sees them next year.

Imagine the day when “WTNY” will be an ominous warning to others about the talent on next year’s Wolfpack basketball team instead of a plea to end their irrelevance. Lead us to the mountain top Gottfather.

Belmont not making their shots. A cold Belmont has no shot. So…vengeance for 1989!!

I hope CJW can go on Sunday. We really need his defense. It will all depend on how the ankle is after he rests it.

do you guys think leslie would come back? a great finish to the season, a good run in the acc tourney, a run in the ncaa’s… except beating unc, he may be fully satisfied with his college career and call it a day. not to take off the satisfaction and fun of being relevant again, of course! go pack!

UVA should have said no to Sports Illustrated. Beware the SI jinx.

BJD, I was thinking the same thing: 1989, Corchiani, no call down the lane. Grrr.

A “Leslie returning next season?” conversation deserves it’s own thread. But that should be after this season is over. Let’s just say he’s 100% coming back to play on Sunday and table the discussion until the nets are cut down.

We need Corch and Googs at mid court cheering on the Pack Sunday.

I’ve got FSU in the Final Four….they need to find out who stole Snaer’s jersey !!!!

“FSU having a fit wiht St Bonnies”

Understatement, Rick. FSU really struggling right now. I want them to win, so the ACC can get some more bragging rights.

“Vengeance ’89” has a UFC ring to it…

Lo Brown was insane today. He is getting really really good. It is the mark of a good player when you can have a stat line like he had and not seem to be ‘forcing it.’ I knew he was playing well, but he was really doing everything great, and it showed up on his stat line.

Tied game between St. Bona and FSU … 6:50 to play

  20. the_phisherman 03/16/2012 at 4:27 PM #

The reason Howell had so few rebounds is due to the fact that we were playing a team who took a lot of outside shots leading to long rebounds. That’s why Zo had 8 or 9

  21. Wufpacker 03/16/2012 at 4:32 PM #

^ That and the fact that he’s usually good for getting 4-5 rebs on his own misses, but today rarely missed.

  22. wufpup76 03/16/2012 at 4:38 PM #

I continue to be amazed at how players cannot know score + situation.

    Poor fella.

  23. Wufpacker 03/16/2012 at 4:39 PM #

That’s a thoroughly unimpressive FSU war chant in the background. FSU pulls it out anyway.

  24. MrPlywood 03/16/2012 at 4:40 PM #

FSU woke up just in time. The dude from the Bonnies was unreal with his 3’s. He should have taken the last shot from outside.

“North Carolina State awaits the winner”

    Damn….that sounds nice.
